my heart grieves

For strangers. 

For people I never knew, and now will never know but for their names being listed on various news outlets declaring them as victims. 

For a beautiful, talented young girl whose voice got me through shitty semesters starting from my sophomore year of college.

For their lives that were tragically, senselessly, unfairly and brutally robbed.

For the families of all those lost who now must deal with the emotional, legal, and physical collateral. 

For the fact there is still hatred, and bigotry, and less of an outrage because the victims were minorities and predominantly homosexual. 

For the fact there is still hatred, and bigotry, which leads to tragedies like these happening in the first place. 

For the reality that we all need to wake the fuck up and address what has been going unaddressed.

For the reality that love can conquer all but it needs a hell of an army because it still has some powerful enemies out there.
