being honest with u guys I think I was using tumblr to cope with a kind of dissatisfaction in my personal life and after being forced off the site, I can't really say I've fixed the things making me unhappy, but at the very least I am introducing new problems to make things more interesting AGLRJFLDKSJS

my writing class gave me homework on pov that prompted me to reread lolita and damn I forgot this book is FIRE

I have hatched this plan where I'm going to tell my partner I've been unhappy in this relationship for 5 years, go on a break (or just break up depending on how the convo goes lol) and immediately go to new york for a month. which is hilarious timing because immediately after I come back we would need to go to CHINA together lmao

picked up an insane reddit scrolling addiction (unrelated to my sudden breakup & move, I now live in the asoiaf subforums I fear)

contemplating writing a story about incest for my novel class

ok so basically while we were doing introductions last week, I mentioned that I had wanted to write a story about being chinese (quite literally this is the premise of chinamaxxing) and without any other prompt or information, the professor basically asked "are you writing about your family?" which, for those not in the know, is basically a stereotype of female chinese-am writers (they write about family trauma and white boyfriends). and I answered somewhat uncomfortably that it is a science fiction story about a family. but I honestly don't really want to write it now since I've OBVIOUSLY been pigeonholed. so now I'm contemplating a "family" oriented story that she would absolutely not see coming lmao
