Shoulders rigid at the surprise display of affection, Nefetari came to a halt. This boy would be the death of her, she thought defeatedly, tense muscles slacking. Just because Cato had deprived her of killing him with a hug, though, didn’t mean she wasn’t angry anymore. She was furious. ( And it was lucky, because it allowed the perfect distraction from having to think about the underlaying reasons of why she was so affected by the stupid prank. ) Nef shrugged Cato off her and instead of his skull, took up a pillow left like rubble from her brief rage on the floor —- and then tore it to shreds with her bare hands, aggressively throwing the feathers at the floor and at Cato. “Fuck you, Cato” she spat, “no, I don’t want to fucking hug it out.”
Somewhere, deep down, Nefetari had been able to discern that she didn’t actually want to murder her best friend —- which was much more than she could say for anyone else had they made her look so weak in front of other students. Even now, involuntarily frustrated tears teased at her eyes, a completely humiliating and unfamiliar sensation for her. She couldn’t find the humour in the situation, she couldn’t find a joke to make. All Nefetari could feel was anger ( that —- that was a familiar feeling, but never one she expected to come as a result of this. ) “WHY would you do that? WHY would you let me think that I was losing—- how could,” she lost her words, possibly due to a lack of being able to express herself. Quickly wiping away a stray tear that escaped her eye, Nef stepped back and then around Cato.
“Go tell Isabelle how much you love her, you dick. Hell, why not try Septima, my cousin, while you’re at it? Because what I have for you right now certainly isn’t fucking love.” ( Where did that come from? ) She shoved passed him, muttering on her way out of the hospital ward about fucking being made to fucking cry in front of fucking students and involving herself with fucking human boys being a fucking mistake. “Don’t look at me or I’ll shove your foot through your own arse, little first year fucking git!!!” Her shouts were heard fading out into the hallway.
