Exactly. I think that’s all that’s supposed to matter, really. Back in the day, people would find out what they had after it was already out, then give it a name that suited it. That’s what I plan on doing. What does Elliott want?

I grew up with salt water, and whenever I had to swim in chlorine I just felt restricted, in a way. [her face grows somber and she opens her eyes wide before popping her lips] Don’t think that, you’re not. I mean, if it's a girl, it's still going to be a girl whether we find out when I'm 21 weeks along or when it pops out, so I don't see the need to go spend the money to find out right away. I don't really think he cares, to be honest. I mean, the guy in him probably wants a boy, but I feel like if it were a girl, she'd be spoiled rotten by him. Either way I think he'll be happy.

Well, no, but you've mentioned swimming stuff a lot, so I just guessed. Me? Oh, no. I never really got to do anything as a kid. My dad didn't like when I left the house, and swim suits are pretty revealing. I wasn't ever allowed to go swimming as a kid in case someone saw the bruises, so yeah, there's that. I like watching it, though. [looks down at her feet and nods slowly] Right, right. Sorry. [looks up to meet her eyes] Ooo, you two not on good terms, I assume?

No, which actually doesn’t bother me, surprisingly. Last check up was at twelve weeks and we came here a little after our thirteen weeks. I’ll just be grateful that they’re born healthy and that’s about it! Though, I will love for you to indulge, do you know what you’re having?

Basically, salt water pools have less harsh chemicals than chlorine pools do. They’re more expensive, yea, but for myself - having to be in the water for five hours a day, at least, I prefer the water not killing my hair and skin, y’know? [she laughs] No, no, no! I meant like, we should save up for a little apartment for ourselves?

Mmm, same here, actually. Elliott's been bugging me about going to find out, so I think we're gonna go soon, but I don't really need to know, y'know? As long as it's healthy and has all the right parts, I'll be happy.

That makes sense. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say you're a swimmer, huh? But wouldn't it hurt your eyes more to have salt? [laughs and shakes her head] Wow, now I feel totally stupid.
