big fan of when a character is dead and the narrative frames them in a very angelic, soft, gentle manner but then it turns out not only are they still alive (plot twist) but theyre alive in the most gruesome and horrific way. your loving kind mentor who motivates you to fight in their memory came back wrong and theres blood and dirt under their fingernails from clawing they way out of the grave.

#a shame it was lost to history which one he actually stopped at
It’s done! This is my first quilt of my own that I hand quilted and I quite enjoyed it. I chose a variegated thread going in one big spiral and then I went back and did a stitch-in-the ditch to break it up along the eight sections. To save my elbow I only worked for an hour or so at a time but it only took 2-3 weeks of working. Time to wash out the last of the marking lines and then the recipient better be as excited about this one as I am.
See here for the post about the piecing and wonderful pattern.

truly some people have no genre savviness whatsoever. A girl came back from the dead the other day and fresh out of the grave she laughed and laughed and lay down on the grass nearby to watch the sky, dirt still under her nails. I asked her if she’s sad about anything and she asked me why she should be. I asked her if she’s perhaps worried she’s a shadow of who she used to be and she said that if she is a shadow she is a joyous one, and anyway whoever she was she is her, now, and that’s enough. I inquired about revenge, about unfinished business, about what had filled her with the incessant need to claw her way out from beneath but she just said she’s here to live. I told her about ghosts, about zombies, tried to explain to her how her options lie between horror and tragedy but she just said if those are the stories meant for her then she’ll make another one. I said “isn’t it terribly lonely how in your triumph over death nobody was here to greet you?” and she just looked at me funny and said “what do you mean? The whole world was here, waiting”. Some people, I tell you.

Smallville should have let Lex in on Clark's secret and had his villain arc start by forcing him into impossible circumstances where he had to do evil twisted things to protect Clark and stop the truth from coming out because a) it would've been better writing but mainly b) it would have been incredibly sexy and been better than watching porn for me
i want what they have.
do you want to come over and care about me
