UHHHH……….. do ya got any tips for people making a comic???

BEFORE I SAY ANYTHING — I want to warn you that I am in no way a professional, and you should take whatever I say not too seriously. These are just very general tips and are from my personal experience with making comics, I myself am still learning and improving.

Make storyboards for planning how scenes will play out instead of going straight into it. I like to make mine small on my canvas so that I don’t worry too much about smaller details (those will be handled later on when you’re doing the cleanup sketch). Not every panel has to be a masterpiece.

Use the “show-don’t-tell” rule instead of having the characters over-explaining something that could be easily conveyed or hinted through their actions. It’s also rewarding for the readers when they figure it out for themselves.

Read comics made by professionals (or at the very least, from someone who knows what they’re doing) from either online — Webtoon if that suits ya — or irl from stores, I used to be big into reading IDW comics. Study the medium and take in how the artists tell the story and draw expressions, write dialogue, where they place the speech bubbles, whatever.

English readers naturally read from top to bottom and left to right, so stick to that instead of numbering your speech bubbles and placing them oddly around the page. It’s just less annoying as a reader when you don’t have to figure out who is saying what and what order they said it.

Some people like to make scripts before even doing a sketch, and I think that’s pretty smart. I don’t personally do it but maybe in the future,,

Keep your character designs simple and easy to remember, you’re going to be drawing them A LOT. It just saves you a bunch of time and energy.

Have you ever shipped Alice and bendy, if so how obsessed were you with it? Do you have any art of it? *not forcing you to show ofc ofc*

I’ve never shipped Alice and Bendy together, I just saw the ship floating around and never really acknowledged its existence.

I’m not a fan of it, it just seems like those type of pairings where it’s like “he was a boy, and she was a girl — need I say more?” and that’s the entire motivation for the ship. No hate to it though, I just personally don’t like it.

Just read the Debt Collectors AU and HDNAJCNSKXJAJFBSICBS THEY'RE SO SILLY- are you currently working on more parts? Or are you caught up with the bendystraw show AU? (srry if this came off as mean I swear I'm not I'm just genuinely curious and also I love the dynamic that Bendy and Cuphead have in the Debt Collectors AU-)

Hehe I'm glad you enjoyed it! And yes, I'm trying to find some free time to write for the fic :] It'll probably take a while but just know that I am writing the next 2 chapters!

Yeah I don't know when I'll be able to get some updates out for TBSS, I got summer school so I'll be pretty busy for a bit. Also I haven't exactly been very motivated as of late to draw, especially for the comic.

ALSOALSO I joined art fight this year so I'm trying to finish up some attacks.

I did it this way because I couldn't find the perfect head accessory, but I hope you like it (๑•᎑•๑)
