     Standing in line is not the place that Luka wants to be, especially when he’s been awake for nearly two day, and had in fact only been back in Korea for more than a handful of those hours. He actually had to keep himself fidgeting with a ring he had been wearing in order to feel like he was trying to keep his brain turned on.

“What the hell?” He mumbled, focusing into one corner of the convenience store. He could have sworn he saw something for half a second, a small shadow shooting across the way. The man sighs, rubbing his eyes for a moment. The shadow was gone.

“I swear to god I’ve lost it.”

“Everything’s for the sake of work, huh?” For all they knew Aiden could write a book that makes him famous in his spare time, like whoever it was who wrote those Harry Potter books, but the world wasn’t made in such a way that let you strive for those things. Instead they had to be put on the back burner like most things a person enjoyed. 

He paused at the offer of clothes, debating for a moment. Winter was hard for him, his poor excuse for a home had no heating, no hot water, and warm clothes were hard to come by. Winter was a struggle, he had become very sick the previous winter, and if they were just sending the clothes to a charity shop anyway maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if he gave them a look? He wasn’t asking anything of them, they were going to throw them out anyway…he shouldn’t even have to debate these things but that was the point he had reached in his life.

“I’ll have a look” he eventually mumbled, drinking more of his free beer. He was hoping they would give him more than one that night.

“Well whenever can, feel free to stop by.” He nods and finishes off his beer, setting down the amount he owed for whenever the bartender would walk by. “But for the sake of work, he found a back up plan. I’m just hoping they don’t give him a shit job like writing top ten what the fuck facts about this or some bullshit.”

“that’s pretty cool…like fictional writing or-?” he didn’t really know what it was Aiden did but either way being on his way to a B.A in writing was pretty sweet. Jihoon never had that chance to go to university though he always hoped that maybe he would be able to someday…somehow. At Jaehyo’s offer for help though he shook his head and waved his hand dismissively, he was bad at accepting help from others and then was no exception “I’m fine, really” he insisted even if it wasn’t true. He didn’t have much trust in people, he had more trust in Jaehyo but that still wasn’t saying much. He was used to being turned against by people, that was how he ended up where he was now, and so he he had high walls and defenses.

“He wants to write books. But got talked into journalism for the sake of work.” He states plainly with a bit of disdain. Jaehyo’s only memory of schooling was the language honor societies he was forced into as the future of his father’s church. “I know it’s the middle of August, but if you need warm clothes we got some. You can have first dibs, before it goes to a shop, since you’re like a little brother.”

“Same as always” he replied, he had never gone into detail about his situation but just looking at him could tell anyone that it wasn’t the best. He would be able to eat that night though, at least there was that, he had started to live by the day as he didn’t have the means to do much more than that “Is Aiden doing good in his classes?”

“Yeah. He’s getting closer to B.A degree for writing. Of either of us, he’d got a better shot at going far.” Jaehyo mused and set the bottle down, mostly empty anyway. “Ya know if  you need anything, we’re happy to help.”

“Unnie, unnie!”

The voice of the young kumiho chirped from the kitchen in such a loud fashion that it startled the moirai. Having dug her face into the shelves of the back room, searching for a few items, her head bumped against the shelf above her right upon hearing the voice of her waitress. “Aish,” Yoo Rim rubbed the top of her head as she ducked her head - too late - and moved away from the dusty, old shelves to look at the kumiho. “Where’s the fire?” she mumbled as the youth stepped into the back room with a visibly excited facial expression.

“You have a customer!” the young girl announced, her lips stretching into a grin, but was met by nothing but confused indifference on Yoo Rim’s face. The moirai reminded the kumiho that they have customers every day, but then the kumiho shook her head, her tongue flicking over her bottom lip. “No, no. I mean a customer.”

The emphasis on the word finally brought understanding and Yoo Rim widened her eyes, looking around in hurry. Did she look well? Where was her hair brush, her perfume? She must have smelled like house dust and her hair must have gone to a thousand directions with all the dusty electricity in the back room. “And he’s handsome,” the kumiho chirped again. “Why does it matter?” Yoo Rim asked, but the pronoun “he?” just slipped out of her mouth in a questioning manner. A man? A male customer? Well, I’ll be damned.

Quickly, Yoo Rim fixed her hair and applied some perfume - never skipping on fixing her favorite pink lip gloss each time she left the back room - and after taking a couple of deep breaths headed towards the round-shaped room where customers came to have their futures told. On her way there, Yoo Rim wondered what kind of trouble drove a man to seek her services, for men were the least likely customers for the fortune teller. Women came in surges but men were reluctant at best and oftentimes changed their minds immediately upon entering the cafe.

“Welcome,” the moirai spoke softly as she joined the mysterious customer, a small smile playing on her lips.

The shop was nice, and so was the room he was led into. He honestly expected the typical Bohemian look, but this was a nice change. For Spencer, this was more of a self indulgent study. He did all research possible, and did his best to not give away too much of himself online or in person. 

In short, if someone could tell the future, he was determined to find someone, all for the purpose of science of course. 

A woman stepped forward, and he bowed his head. “Thank you, miss.” Out of his natural habit, he offered to pull her up a chair, figuring it’d be best to start off politely before they moved on to anything else. “Might I say this is far different than any other place I’ve sought out. Wonderfully so, please don’t get me wrong.”

   Consulted and done! I looked into the case files and I didn’t dig too hard to find stuff on your culprit. He’s been using facebook to set up drug deals surprisingly! :OOO I found multiple accounts of him trading and setting up deals along with a bunch of illegal stuff with other things. I ended up tracing the others down as well and I’ve sent a whole list of compiled offenders. You also have a mole police man in your midst, so I’ve alerted you of them as well. 

And I didn’t do anything like the ‘pentagon birthday email’ thing again. ^0^ Though I did set up a bunch of accounts with censors. ;^; Soo many dirty swear words!

     While some uses would applaud your new censor, I’m afraid we have a larger issue to deal with. The list you compiled gave good leads, but we have a man in custody claiming his in a sort of hostage situation. We have nothing to base this on so far, and we can’t move forward until its confirmed or denied. Would you mind doing a small check for any family member who have suddenly gone quiet?

Jihoon was sat in one of the many bar stools, drinking from his glass and ignoring the world around him. It was rare but sometimes someone would approach him after he sang, them deciding to actually give him a chance after performing, but no one did that night, instead Jaehyo turned out seemingly out of nowhere and Jihoon wondered how he hadn’t noticed the other man in the bar to start with.

“You get better with practice” he replied simply, straight to the point as always, as he put his drink down “I’m alright I guess? How’re you doing?”

He obviously wasn’t the best but it was rare that he didn’t look worse for wear. It wasn’t like he could afford to look any better clothing wise but even then the shithole he called home gave him very little chance for sleep. With no heating, no air con, no hot water as standard but no electricity on top of that sometimes when he couldn’t make the bills he felt it was a little justified that he would look tired and rough around the edges.

“Been trying to keep up, working all the time.” He replied rather simply. taking another swig from his bottle. “Been doing more so Aiden can go back to classes, so its worth it.” Jae looked at Jihoon, seeing the wear in his clothes. “How have you been?”

Now that he can see a little better, the interior of the decrepit house seems actually…not that bad. Warm light got rid of some of the dinge, and made it appear somewhat welcoming for the moment; despite how baron it was. August glanced around again, and then hissed as pressure was applied to his wound – “Ah-” He spoke out his discomfort, but it was over soon enough, and a moment later Theo strapped a belt to his thigh, finalizing the temporary treatment.

But his eyes were so… “Don’t look like that, it’s fine see? I’ve had a lot worse.” 

August smiled blearily and reached out to cup Theo’s cheek in one hand; his own eyes speaking of his gratitude, of his loyalty. If Theo could give him the shirt off his back, August would give him a tantamount of dedication. “It hurts. Distract me– Kiss me…”

Theo would do as he had been told, choosing to lay out beside August. His arm wrapped around his waist,  holding him close as he carefully pressed their lips together. A simple action, but now it felt more grounding and safe than it ever had.

“I can’t help but feel a little guilty.” He finally mumbled, pressing a softer kiss to his lover’s forehead. “I was too panicked, and didn’t completely break out the window. I’m so sorry, love.”

                                A short and stiffened laugh was let out by the phoenix at the image of the people questing for points. “It does sound rather amusing, I think it would be a good way to promote this place as well. We could bring in some minor internet publicity and it could attract people? Possibly even some investors? I mean, this library is wonderful, but I’m sure you wouldn’t really mind additional funds to broaden your collection even further…”

Theo felt flattered by all of this, that his collection could be deemed worthy of such high praise. He climbed down from the ladder, the other male seemed to have what he needed for  now. “I’m absolutely open to this, but I’d rather do something worthy of this, rather than just take what I would need. There’s been a few grants, but the strangeness of my collection doesn’t do good on the same system regular libraries are in.”
