I have a theory: Antauri was originally meant to stay dead.

I remember when "I, Chiro" first aired; the series went on a massive hiatus immediately afterward. I’ve always suspected that Ciro Nieli or the writers realized—perhaps too late—that killing off the fan favorite was a mistake. By the time they gauged the audience's devotion (as a massive Antauri fangirl, I can attest to it), he was already gone. It feels like they spent the third season overcompensating for that trauma by giving him a sleek new look and a significant power boost.

While I’ll admit his silver form is an aesthetic upgrade, as an Antauri fan, that arc was a massive emotional toll. Watching him suffer and die felt needlessly cruel. Ciro, why did you do this to us?
