Day 4 of the Inktober challenge was Underwater so I decided to draw Lou. 

Here’s the description I wrote in DA as well.

Being a human-like creature that is incapable of permanent death, Lou has died many ways. Drowning was the worst. He had drowned before this incident, but the was by far the one that cause his fear of water. After drowning the first time, Lou's body would eventually heal itself, as it always does, this time by converting the water that filled his lungs into air. He'd then wake up, try to breathe, fail, and remember his current predicament. f course he tried freeing himself but he couldn't from the inside. Nor did he have his book with him After holding his breath for several minutes, Lou would be gasping for air only to be filled with water and drown again. This process would repeat until he ran out of energy to heal himself. He spent nearly a decade underwater, dead but not permanently. Until a fisherman had scooped up the box and pulled Lou out. Due to a strange bit of luck, and a promise passed down, Lou's book was returned to him and he was able to revive once more. Now forever traumatized.

Lou drinks - Alone

Eventually everyone has to leave. Life goes on even after a drunken evening of fun, confusion, and worry. Those who enjoyed their drink, those who scoffed, those who tried, and those who really sho...

Short story though is that Lou watched sever people getting drunk, something he can’t do due to the way his body absorbs everything he eats and drinks. He does not drink for fun but to try and forget things he’s remembered from long past. So once everyone is gone, Lou lets his mask of constantly being happy and grinning fall, and is sad, if only for a little while, by himself.

            ♛  At once the prince cocked an eye at the other, it wasn’t everyday that someone strait up called him a child after . Nor did anyone dare given his true age but that only left those older then him to such phrases. 

             “Greetings, though I do not know the honors in which I’m being greeted. May I aid you in some way Sir?” ♛

His manner of speak surprised Lou a bit, it was far more formal and eloquent than he expected. He did not let it faze him for more than a moment and his grin only grew.

“Absolutely nothing!” He chuckled. “I just saw you and thought I’d say hello! You look rather fancy for a area like this.”
