and that's it for mapi. from the bottom of my heart, mapi was one of my favourite players of all time, and while i wished things were handled so differently in the end that coloured my feelings, there is no denying that she is a team legend for barça. 💙❤️

"dear barça fans, the time has come to close the most beautiful chapter of my life. and above all, the time has come to thank you, because after nine years i am saying goodbye to the club of my life, of my heart, of my people.
i arrived in barcelona at the age of twenty-two, full of dreams and with a burning desire to succeed in this shirt. and over time, many of those dreams have come true. you have seen me grow, succeed, fail and improve as a footballer and as a person. we have been through more than three hundred matches together, and looking back, i realise just how much we have achieved. i feel that we have helped women’s football to grow and paved the way for many girls who today dream of playing the sport. and that is to our credit, but also yours, of course. all that remains is for me to thank you for all your support and for cheering us on every step of the way. there are memories that will stay with me forever, but above all, i will never forget the feeling of knowing we were supported wherever we played. i can’t help but smile and feel a deep sense of gratitude for all the love you’ve shown me throughout this time. thank you, thank you, and a thousand thanks, fans. i also want to thank my family for always being by my side. without your support, none of this would have been possible.
and to my teammates, it has been a privilege to share this wonderful journey with you. i also don’t want to forget the staff or all those people who often go unseen but who are undoubtedly part of this great family. today i have to bring the best chapter of my life to a close, and although it’s difficult, i’m leaving with a full heart. proud of everything we’ve experienced together and grateful to have been part of this great family. barça has been my home for nine years and always will be. i love you and will always love you, culers. long live barça, always."
