Targaryen Madness (II)
āA Targaryen alone in the world is a terrible thing.ā
Thanks for so much love on my first post. I was inspired so I decided to write some blurbs/short stories based on my headcanons! I was thinking of writing some smut for Aegon and Maegor eventually⦠š¤·āāļø for some reason, I really like writing for them!
Warnings: incest, possessive behavior, protective behavior, sexual themes (depictions of sex and also implied sex), manipulation, controlling behavior, codependent relationships, toxic relationships, physical violence mentioned and implied (not against reader!), mention of blood, manipulation, I guess implied blackmail? you know the drill
Features: Aegon I Targaryen and Maegor Targaryen x Female reader (separate)
Aegon I Targaryen
On days like these, Aegon feels exhausted.
Between his duties as the only son and heir, and his dreaded discussions of inevitable marriage, he finds his feet are heavy as he walks to the castle to find you, out by some training yard. He expects to find you in the garden, but here you are: a truly unpleasant sight with boys surrounding you. Aegon knows it is not uncommon for other noblemen and their families to visit their Keep. Yet they threaten all his time with you, his dear and beloved youngest sister.
His fists clench into a hot-white color, his teeth grinding together, until you look at him and come running to him with your childlike smile and excitement.
āAegon, youāre home!ā You giggle as you throw yourself into his arms. Suddenly, he forgets why he was mad before. He wants to hold you as tightly as he did before, when you two were younger. He refrains only due to the stares, but his smile is genuine and soft.
āSweet sister, Iāve returned.ā He wants to nuzzle his face into your hair and smell the sweet scent that is your gentle youth, but heāll save it for later, when he spends time with you in your chambers or the gardens. āYou seem occupied.ā
āIām having fun.ā You pull away only a little to look up at him, smiling. āIāve made new friends! Theyāre staying for some time⦠oh! But of course, I missed you the most of all, brother!ā
He smiles at that. For now, heāll forgive your sweet innocence, the very nature that allows you to smile at even the most vile of people. Eyeing your ānew friendsā, his smile strains with disdain. āSweet sister, I hope you arenāt too busy.ā He looks back down at you. āI was hoping Iād have your company tonight.ā
You nod fervently. The sweetest thing in the world to him is your little smile. But then you look back to your friends, and your smile fades.
āWhat?ā He wonders. If theyāre so much of a distraction to you, he should rid of them, he thinks. āIs something the matter now?ā
āOhā¦ā you look down. āItās just⦠I canāt tonight. Iām sorry! But maybe people are right, and you should focus onāā
āNo, no. What do you mean āmaybe people are rightā?ā He squeezes your shoulders a bit too tightly. āSince when did you listen to others? And since when did they say things to you?ā
Donāt grow up, he thinks. His other sisters arenāt you. You, he has to preserve. Youāve always listened to him. Youāve always clung to his side, afraid to wander far. Now the world will get ahold of you as he fearedāthe more people you speak to, the more you hear, and the more you understand. Itās not right if it isnāt coming from him. Didnāt he teach you that? āAnswer me. No one should bother youāyouāre my sister, the Princessāā
āBut what they say is true.ā Youāve never spoken over him, and you wonāt mention who it is that keeps feeding you these lies. It makes him uneasy. āWe spend so much time together⦠people whisper. It might only be gossip, but isnāt it true that Iām tooā¦?ā Your eyes water. He wants to hold you so badly it hurts. āā¦clingy? Annoying? Immature?ā
He scowls. āYouāre still young,ā he says. āA girl. You have time to grow up, but now isnāt the time. Stay young for as long as you can.ā Him and his sisters were forced to mature early on, but theyāve managed to protect you well enough. Heād like to think that, though with each word you speak, he feels his grip on you lessenā¦
āI wish to be seen as a woman! A maiden!ā Itās so immature of you to say, but you donāt care.
āNo. Youāre perfect how you are, dear sister. I adore you.ā He smiles. āNow stop this whining. I want to see you tonight. Iāll comfort you, and we donāt have to think about thisāā
āYou arenāt listening to me!ā
He stills. Since when did you have outbursts? Youāre growing up, he realizes, and trying to gain independence. But why? Heād gladly take care of you.
āI have to go now.ā You donāt even say goodbye. āGood luck with your duties, brother. Please donāt come by tonight.ā He doesnāt miss how you say that. You seem ashamed, but also a little excited.
~
Itās hard for him to focus on much after his exchange with you. It left him ruffled for whatever reason. The rest of the day is a blur as it goes by, and all he can think of is the unabating need to check on you. You had never acted that way before; it calls for caution and understanding on his part. Thatās why, as soon as heās finished, he makes way to your chambers. He finds them empty, but his confusion strengthens when he sees the messy sheets, the dresses thrown about on the floor. Youāve never been messy either, and the servants wouldāve cleaned this up if it had happened earlier, but that means that it mustāve happened recently.
Aegon rushes down the stairs where he hears a particular noise, but one heās well-versed with: the firm clapping of skin, slick with sweat. Well, he isnāt afraid of the noise, noāpanic sets in his heart when he imagines you, beneath some other man.
He slams open the door, revealing some knightāone he may recognize up closeāslamming into you.
āWhat is the meaning of this?!ā Aegon roars with anger. He storms in, face full of fury, eyes blazing with hatred and betrayal, pulling the man off of you by his arm.
You scream, covering yourself with your dress that was discarded to the side. āAegon, I said not to come see me!ā There are tears in your eyes, and the shame of being caught prompts them to spill. āYou werenāt supposed to see!āā
āIāve seen enough.ā His tone is cold, firm, and doused with unbridled anger. āYou will go back to your chambers.ā
āAnd⦠what of him?ā
āWhat of him?ā He sneers, looking down at you. The worst part is, youāre so beautiful, he canāt blame the man for wanting to claim you. He can, however, blame him for trying. These fools need to understand youāre his, and you need to understand that too. You seemed to have forgotten, but itās okay. He can remind you shortly.
His gaze scares you. Heās never directed such anger at you before. Quietly, you dress yourself again and leave the room, gentle sobs escaping your body. Moments after you return to your room, Aegon knocks on the door.
āDear sister,ā he says, his tone more soft now, āIām coming in.ā
You donāt answer, wiping your eyes that are now red from tears. When he sees your form, he sighs dejectedly, and comes to sit by your side. You donāt miss the light blood streaking the neckline of his shirt, but you bite your lip and refuse to mention it.
āI didnāt mean to frighten you. I only came because I was worried. Our conversation earlier left me concerned for you.ā He holds your hand, gripping it tightly in his. āIf anything is the matter, anything at all, youāre meant to come to me with it. You shouldnāt have to seek comfort inā¦ā he feels sick just saying it, āothers.ā
āIt wasnāt like that.ā Itās quiet, but he hears you nonetheless.
āShh, it doesnāt matter what it was like, sweet sister.ā He smiles gently, brushing your hair back with his hand. You look so broken it hurts him, but itās an opportunity. One he takes. āI forgive you. And from now on, you wonāt do such things again, alright? I wonāt tell if you donāt tell. Itās a secret thatās safe between us.ā
You feel no room for argument, so you nod. Youāll have to be more careful next time you decide to be so reckless, you realize. And by āsecretā, you know he means that you should stay quiet about what he may have done to that knight. The blood is a reminder that whatever Aegon did to him, youāll never see him again. Aegon presses a chaste kiss to your cheek and leads you to the bath, where he gently rubs and cleans your skin. Heād gladly care for you like this forever, so why did you have to go behind his back and ruin things? Itās not your fault, he thinks. Itās his, for not keeping a closer eye on you.
You run off too easily at the slightest taste of independence, he thinks. Rhaenys told him to loosen the leash, but he might just have to tighten it again.
Maegor Targaryen
Maegor was never a man of many words. Why would he bother speaking, when his cruelty could invoke fear so easily? Though, living on like this began to scare you off, and so he swallowed his pride a little, asking for his motherās aid. She was surprised when he said the words āa girlā with such a low and sheepish tone, that she knew she should help him.
You decided to give him a chance. A chance to explain himself after all. He knew you would; too kind to abandon him, and too understanding to leave without any justification. He adored that about you. While it was weak, being so gentle, it was so unfamiliar to him that he craved more of you. Can you blame him? A neglectful father, a firm mother, a weakling for an elder brotherā¦
And it doesnāt help that others are so weak compared to him too. When you heard how he injured a stableboy, you knew it was no simple argument. That was the same boy you spoke to before when you were waiting for your brother to finish his sword training. Apparently Maegor had seen you speaking with him from afar; he became particularly cruel and harsher in his attacks, taking down knights twice his size. Your brother certainly didnāt seem happy with him, and mumbled his complaints to you.
Maegor had a way of releasing anger that seemed to always involve someone on the receiving end. He had only been kind to you, but word of his rage shook you, and it showed. Youād flee from him if you saw him, you wouldnāt smile at him as you used to, and every conversation was tense and curt. Youāre more cruel than he is, he thinks. Leaving him high and dry and wanting for more. After tasting your kindness, he wants to drown in it. He wonāt settle for anything less from you. But he realizes he overstepped. Biting his lip, he comes up the ship.
āHello,ā he greets lowly. Staring at you, he feels so small for some reasonāa feeling heās unaccustomed to. It makes him uncomfortable, vulnerable. āYou look lovely in the moonlight.ā
You smile at the compliment, but like all of your smiles lately, itās a bit sharp. āWhat did you bring?ā
āSomething for you.ā In one hand, he holds a flower, delicate and beautiful. He comes closer to you and holds it out. āPlease accept it.ā
Since he asked nicely, you feel obligated to accept the gift. You take it in your hand. This time, your smile is true. āOh. Itās lovelyā¦ā
āI picked it out for you.ā He clears his throat, speaking a bit more firmly. Be confident; stand tall and speak truthfully, with certainty, his mother told him. āIt reminded me of you.ā
You look at him, eyes slightly wide, and your lovely face breaks into a smile. His chest tightens at the sight, a feeling he should run from, but indulges in instead. āTurn around.ā A poor choice of words, he realizes. āWill you turn around? I have one last gift.ā
His mother helped to pick it out. He hopes it will delight you as the flower did. As you move your hair to the side, he places the pendant on your chest, clipping the necklace in the back. You let your hair down your back once more, turning to show him.
Beautiful. He could stare at you forever, remembering every inch of your face and body. But even then, heād always want for more, for all of you.
āA necklace?ā You sigh. āYou didnāt have to.ā
āI wished to,ā he says. āYou look very beautiful.ā
āYou said that already.ā But you laugh lightly. He distracted you from the point of this visit already, and so he smiles too.
āIāll say it again and again if I wish to,ā he says, ābecause itās always true. The first time I saw you, I thought you were the most beautiful woman in all of Westeros.ā
When he first saw you, he had unhorsed a boy much older than him, gaining favor of the crowd. He chose to give his rose to you, the woman he found the most beautiful in all of the crowd. You were with your brother at the time. He is less cruel to your brother in the hopes that he may gain your favor. Your brother noticed, but heās sure you have yet to.
āIs it true?ā You finally ask him, ādid you hurt that stableboy because of your jealousy?ā
And there it is. The dreaded question. He wished he could kiss you: to taste your lips and to swallow the filthy accusations you spew. You would be much more lovely if you would just submit to him, but he allows your little acts of cruelty though it hurts his heart. āWhat should I tell you? I thought heād take you away from me.ā
āThat isnāt true.ā You sigh. āI was only speaking with him-ā
āHeās a boy. I know how we areāhis cheeks were red and he was stumbling over his words like a lovesick foolā¦ā Remembering the boyās face, he feels sick to his stomach, that familiar rage bubbling in his chest again. āYou should be more careful with men.ā
āShould I be more careful with you, then?ā You meet his gaze.
His eyebrow twitches, his lips curving into a frown. āNo. Are you afraid of me now? Is that it?ā
At the realization that you may be, he stills. Your silence only feeds his worries. No, no, no. It would be easier to have you fear himāfear is reliable in making everyone submit to his willābut he thought things would be different between you two. You had been so tender and loving, and he wanted to keep that forever. āAre you?ā He repeats.
It takes a moment, but you eventually shake your head. āNo. Iām not afraid of you. But if you keep hurting others, I wonāt be fond of you anymore.ā
He knows that, but hearing it from your soft and lovely lips makes him enraged. He wants to grab you and shake you, tell you that it doesnāt matter how you feel, since youāre his anyways, but he refrains, his fists clenching until his knuckles turn a hot-white.
āI donāt wish for things to be like this between us,ā you say softly. āI like you too, Maegor. I really like youā¦ā
Hope stirs within his heart, and he is quick to respond. His hands grab yours and he eases his grip. āThey wonāt be. Will you stay by my side if I promise you Iāll behave?ā His mother told him to use these words. He hopes theyāll reach you the way he intended.
You smile softly and nod. His face breaks into a large smile. You donāt back away as he closes the gap between you two, you donāt push him away once his hands cup your face, and you donāt fight him as he kisses you. You already had his heart, but he managed to pull the wool over your eyes. He couldnāt change himself, but he could change your perception of him. If you would only stay loving forever, then heād never have to resort to the many evil things he ended up doing following your absence. To him, there is no one crueler than you, but in a game of cruelty, he can always win.
