DAVID WILL BECOME REAL IN THREE MONTHS
His Giger girl | David 8
David 8 x Reader request for @taxodium-distichum A/N: I was caught up in some things for the past 2 days so this was delayed until today. Word count: 350
You awoke to find yourself on a hard surface, your eyes stinging from the bright light above you, and a familiar voice to your right. He simply mumbled to himself before noticing you were awake, the soft clink of metal on metal as he set something down to lean over you; as he leaned over you he blocked out some of the light, giving you a “warm smile” as he spoke, “Hello. Nice to see you awake.” he said, his lips still curled into a smile. “David?” you mumbled, your voice hoarse. Shhh he said, still smiling to you, “Don’t strain yourself.” His tone was soft, but you could tell he was up to something, he always was. Not that the thought crossed your mind much, not since you knew what he did to others. When you tried to sit up you felt his hand on your shoulder, “No, no.” he said, gently pushing you back down. “I’m next aren’t I?” you asked, seeing him walk back to a table of tools; he went on to recite the things he heard you say in the past, “Or, as you like to put it. Make me one of your Giger girls.” he said, not looking away from his tools. “Am I mistaken?”
His voice was teasing as he continued to sort his chosen tools, “Don’t worry. You won’t feel a thing.” he said before returning to your side. “David..” “Shh. You will be perfect.”
“And what if I’m not?” “I’ll keep working until you are.”
His tone was slightly threatening, but only slightly, as his tone contrasted his lips once again curling into a smile, “I will work as slowly and carefully as I can. I want you to be perfect after all.” he said. You opened your mouth to speak again but David placed a finger over your lips. “Shhh. You won’t feel a thing.” As he pulled his finger away you felt the rush of morphine in your system, feeling the world become blurry again. Even as your head buzzed you could still hear David. “I will make you perfect.”

“It’s comforting having her near me,” David explained. “Her remains anyway. Her DNA, you could say. I relish her presence in death even as I did in life. This is all that binds me to her, and to my own origins. We were only able to bring a few little things with us. We needed only a few little things. Beyond what was necessary for survival. She, of course, needed more than I.” Reaching out, he ran two fingers slowly down the smooth side of the urn, then drew them back. – Alien Covenant by Alan Dean Foster
