Half an hour has passed by, Earl had begun to grow impatient and decided to leave the town hall and take a stroll around the remote settlement. But being a unfamiliar face he has caught the attention of many of the villagers. A group of teenagers start to grow their curiosity and begin to follow behind him, they have stopped Earl in his tracks. Out of intimidation the teenagers swarm around him creating a huddle, Earl is now literally the centre of attention and has been put on the spot. Earl jolts suddenly, he gets pushed forward by a young boy.
“Yur not from round here, weh you a go?” Says the stout young boy
Earls look at this young boy from head to toe and begins to laugh, a young girl from the crowd steps forward and begins to also provoke Earl.
“Ah wah you ah find someting funny, weh mek you a laugh so” Interrogates the young girl
“Uno ah come like some wildlings, weh do you, you nuh see man a big man” Replies Earl
The teenagers break out in a squabble amongst themselves creating a hype, as they are offended by Earl’s response. They start to become more rowdy and loud, shouting and cussing, the tensions slowly begins to rise.
“What a gwan yahso! You kids dem no have no manners gweh , gwan back up ah yard now!” Shouts a female as she breaks up the commotion, pulling the teens away, she reveals what the commotion is all about and finds herself stood in front of Earl. Earls eyes enlighten, almost automatically at first sight of this woman words roll of his tounge.
“Patricia!” Shrieks Earl
“Yes that ah me, wait you no look strange to me marsa, do I kno you from somewhere?” Says Patricia as she stares at Earl in confusion
“Oh my gwad Patricia, it’s me Earl” Replies Earl
“Me no dat it was you, ah joke me a mek, but really me just neva sure” Patricia responds and falls into Earls arm, Earl wraps his arms around her and hugs Patricia tightly.
“Earl, I did missed you so much, you really did come look fi mi” Sobs Patricia
“Dat ah my promise don’t it” Earl confirms.
