I put on my leather jacket and used some really thick triple layer winter gloves to protect my hands and arms, but thankfully it was very docile and attached itself to the big fine sieve strainer I used as a net without any issue and easily flew outside :)

We love to see that yeah most bats are very calm but, you still have to prepare for scared / injured animals to lash out. Even if they don't look it, They can still be it. Good work

There's a bat in my livingroom :) I am figuring out how to get it not inside my house, but it's super cute!!! It keeps shaking its little wings and grooming itself :)

First : Open Windows and Doors! Second : Find THICK Gloves. The thickest you can. If you think a Thumbtack could go through the gloves, Find something thicker. Third : Call A bat specialist if you have them nearby , If not , ONLY then proceed with approaching the bat yourself. Under no circumstances are you to touch the bat with ungloved hands, I'd highly reccommend a Net or something Similar so they aren't damaged. Don't throw anything at them either. Fourth : Gently Capture the bat. Treat it delicately, and Move it outside. Close the door behind you and any windows, so it Leaves the area and does not just fly immediately back inside. Again : Call specialists first! Make sure it's specifically a Bat specialist since Normal Animal Control isn't likely to know what to do with a bat. ( or have the appropriate tools )

That's mostly just user choice. I DO use the scientific names to verify species ! But I use the common names because I'm primarily posting for The average person, and the average person is not well versed in Binomial Nomenclature. Besides, Take today's bat, Sure I could Identify it as Kerivoula lanosa , But most people won't know what ot do with that ( or how to pronounce it ) So , ' Lesser Woolly Bat ' works fine!

Idk if you’ve answered this before, but favourite species of bat and why???

I Get asked this on occasion but I'm more than happy to answer it again I don't have a favourite ^^ There's 1,500 Species and I think they all deserve Love and support. That being said I am partial towards the Lasiurus Genus, Vampire bats, and most Microbats.
