Once I break out of the ideas they have of me

Outside of the parameters placed on me by others
I am free
To be whatever
And not have to define it
Or explain it
Or have it approved
I wonder how much more I would say if I wasn’t so afraid of where my words would land
Oh the beauty of releasing things with love
The freedom of clearing out the shelves in your heart and dusting out the resentments
To make room for love to adorn the memories of your heart
Oh the lightness of carrying love for those that are no longer in your life
The acceptance of saying goodbye and walking away to leave behind love to keep them company
Oh the beauty of releasing people with love instead of what they might’ve deserved instead
