The black girls at my job are all hanging out & I kinda over head. & I’m like “Ouu I wanna go.” & one of the girls jokingly goes, “oh not you! You be going to those insert-local white bar- & you lm like, “yeah but they still be lit!” & then she whispers something to my supervisor (who is also black) they laugh then she goes, “but y’all need to take her though she’ll make everything fun.” Im like, “well I lost my ID anyway…”

I dunno that whole exchange made me so sad though because I’ve always felt that way. Like I know I have more white friends than black. Like I really wanna have more black friends too but like sometimes I feel so outta place… it sucks.

Being an “alt black girl.” Sucks. Why do I have to choose? Why can’t I have white and black friends…?!
