Anyone who says butchfemme is heteronormative has not BEEN in a butchfemme relationship before. I used to agree as an outsider looking in but when you actually get involved in the culture, you realize it is so much more than some convoluted gender roles. I love that lesbians have their own unique relationship with gender. Being a femme is SO different than being feminine in the traditional sense. I love being a dyke and doing whatever the hell I want with my gender and having it be specifically lesbian. Lesbian identities are magical and special
