Inspector Han. Why did you get lured into his little game?
...
That's not a debt. It's justice. All right. Sit back and watch me play in your game of justice.
Beyond Evil, episode 13
This conversation is just so them. Lee Dongsik with his humorless humor, prodding and pushing, Han Joowon, seemingly calm but coming undone with one sincere question. Lee Dongsik might have started harshly but still knows that Han Joowon is not like his father, and he cannot hide his concern. And Han Joowon - having processed the most recent revelations and not half as adamant about his father's potential role in Lee Yuyeon's death at this point - might have expected hostility, even prepared himself for it, only to see that Lee Dongsik seems to be worried about him, of all people. And he cannot comprehend; Lee Dongsik's worry is worse than Lee Dongsik's ire. If Lee Dongsik didn't back off when he did, I'm pretty sure Han Joowon would've bolted out of pure overwhelm.
Beyond Evil, episode 6
That awkward moment when The Moment(TM) is over... what gets me in this scene is not only the fact that, at an impasse and at odds, they still don't let go of each other till Lee Dongsik gets the call; it's also that Han Joowon takes the phone and brings it to his face as if it wasn't just held in Lee Dongsik's - potentially dirty - hand. It seems that even at this point, when he's nothing but infuriating and a suspect, Lee Dongsik makes Han Joowon forget about his mysophobia.

I'll set up a trap. I'll be the bait. I'll be a monster, take Han Ki-hwan with me, and dive into hell...That's my way of atoning. That's how he wants to atone for what happened...I can't let that fool go down alone.
Beyond Evil, episode 9
As they say, context is everything XD Without it, their body language at the very beginning of the scene, followed almost immediately by that not even 20 seconds long "cute" exchange would suggest that not only were they having a completely different conversation - they were in an entirely different genre.
BEYOND EVIL | EP8
I just witnessed an illegal act. So I carried out my duties as an officer. It wasn't just carrying out your duties.
