A Cobblestone Lesson Montreal, Quebec
Walking down Rue Saint-Paul can be a hurtful experience because it's paved with uneven (& sometimes loose) cobblestones. We sometimes take so much for granted around us that we lose sight of those who keep us standing on our feet. Asphalt has never felt so good.

Hoya NDx400 HMC 77mm 9 Stops ND Filter - $209.99
Problem with getting a nice ND filter is that I will also have to invest in a decent tripod. Of course, a Gitzo tripod will be nice but those cost at least $600. Sigh!
The new Fastpack 150 looks amazing and with a side pocket that's stretchable and holds a water bottle. But it's 2x more expensive than the older model!

How much do I need it? Not at all. I crave it because it's a bag that meets all my needs --- but has a 'small footprint'.

I have been eyeing the 85mm f/1.8D for a year now but just couldn't pull the trigger:
1) It's an older model and does not work with non-motorized Nikon cameras. Although it doesn't affect my D90 but I would like to occasionally lend my friends who has D3000 and D5000 to use.
2) It costs $400 for a new one while the brokeh is not as good as the 1.4d. There's also reports of flaring.
3) Filter size is 62mm. I prefer filter size to be either 67mm or 77mm (best).

Roughly a year and a half ago (May 25, 2010), I invested in my first DSLR system.

Photography is an expensive hobby. It's not as simple as just buying a camera and 1 lense. There are essential accessories that enhance your experience and they do not come cheap.
When I visited Hong Kong & Japan that summer, I acquired:

The problem with consumer lense is the maximum aperture -- not enough light is getting through indoor and its inability to isolate a subject. To solve this, I acquired a prime lense from Ebay (Oct 28, 2010).

Messenger bag is great for the occasional walking around with a light load. But I discovered that after more than 2 days, the strap will start digging into your collarbone. Recently from Henry's, I bought a backpack just for the Montreal-Boston roadtrip.
