Came across an interview with the voice actors of Luca and Alberto, and the most interesting question I thought they were asked was, "What do you see Luca and Alberto doing when they're older?" And they answered,

"Them being very powerful business men, who are at the very top of the buisness. They work together as buddies and make vespas."

Alberto was a chronic liar but he wasn’t even good at it. like he lied a lot, sure, but you could easily tell by tone, body language, or facial expression that it wasn’t true. Really, the only reason he got away with it for so long because his main audience (Giulia and Luca) were just kids, same as him.
