Definitely be sure to do that.  I’d hate to celebrate prematurely.  If only... but I think people might think I’m crazy if I tried that.  Don’t worry, I’ll make sure it stays far away from your hair routine.

I’m sure it will. Where there is an Annabeth there is a way! A life lesson we have all been taught at this point I’m sure. Yeah, it sounds like a total hassle. You do not deserve this. Do want like… a soothing mug of hot chocolate? Oh my gods, do not even remind me that calculus is a thing because I might start crying real tears fromt he flashbacks. That is insane. And ridiculous and shouldn’t be a thing that’s happening! But also… You can’t like, not be here. It’s not here without you here. Or Sophia. Y’know?

And if people don’t figure it out, then they’ll have to learn the hard way.  Hot chocolate does sound pretty amazing, honestly.  Sorry, sorry!  Um, there’s a... hard subject I have to take and I want to get credit for it.  Better?  Yeah, I mean, I like being able to stick around here and just do schoolwork when I can.  It makes it so much more enjoyable.

Yeah, my um, my sister and I are in these online classes through our school.  This is our last year before we um, before we graduate and our mom would have a cow if we didn’t.  Plus, it looks kind of bad for our dad if we don’t since he’s a teacher at the school I go to.

It comes and goes. Sometimes I’m like, ‘look at that huge nerd’, and other times I’m like, ‘yeah, I see it – he could be normal’. I guess that makes sense. The only reason I haven’t made a break for it is because of Kane and Claire. I also don’t have anywhere to run to, but you know. Details.

I’m not so sure if that’s because I go back and forth between the home school and public school thing... or if it’s because of who I am.  Because I know a lot of people automatically associate Athena kids as nerds and since I’m part Athenian, it’d make sense that you’d see me as that way only part of the time.  Well then, I guess it’s a good think you’ve stuck around here this long.

Not officially made it out.  Dad still has like, twenty meetings and a thousand papers left to sign but yeah... yeah.  Although, I’m sure that us being around isn’t what is keeping the camp from imploding.  If anything, us being here is increasing the risks of that happening.

Regular people are like, the rudest. Did your mom have to go all demi-godly warrior queen of the universe on the board? Was blood shed? Lives ruined? … No wait, that’s a TV show quote. Did it work out okay? Do you need the number of a good lawyer?

I mean, I think it’s all going to work out okay.  Mom hasn’t had to go crazy on them yet, but if they don’t rush our stuff through, I wouldn’t put it past her to storm the next board meeting.  We just... it’s a hassle, you know?  Calculus is already hard enough, and the fact I might not be getting credit for it and failing because I’m not physicallly there is just... it’s insane.

You know, you’d think since Soph and I did “homeschool” last year, it wouldn’t be so hard to get our classes transferred again this year.  But, you’d be wrong.

She kept telling herself to stop, to let Lucas go and turn around and run. But as much as she kept trying, Aria couldn’t loosen her grip on him. “I-I can’t,” she said between grit teeth. “And I don’t think you can help me…” Aria trailed off, hearing his heart beat faster and thinking for one sick moment, that he could. Her brain knew how to sate these urges, the answer was right in front of her. This was bad. “Y-You’re strong,” she said, trying to reason with herself and Lucas. “Fight back, get out of here, I-I can’t stop myself much longer. Try.”

Okay, so Lucas knew if he really wanted to, he could probably get Aria off him.  But, he didn’t want to run the risk of hurting her, and he certainly didn’t want to end up causing her any more problems than she was already experiencing.  Still, the boy knew that if he didn’t act fast, something was probably going to go terribly wrong.  For him.  Pushing himself off the tree as hard as he could, Lucas pulled himself out of her grasp before gripping onto her wrists.  “I’m sorry.  I’m so sorry.”  The apology was murmured.  “I still want to help you though, Aria.”

What? If an epic beard isn’t reason enough for a cake then I just don’t know what to do with this world… There is always occasion for cake. Ha! Yeah, they do! You’re making the trees sound more and more inviting by the second. If it weren’t for all the leaves and creepy crawlies, of course. Maybe. Don’t pretend you wouldn’t miss the feeling of sending yourself a little present via next day delivery. They would. Hm? Oh, no. No, not weird. I mean, if you’re not doing it for the vine or the views, what are you doing it for? The future generations need to know about this.

It might be a cause for a face cake.  That way you could actually see the beard on the cake.  Leaves aren’t... that bad.  But the creepy crawlies I definittely wouldn’t want to be around. Then okay, yeah film this.  It’s going to be cool... I hope.

You’re scaring me, the words rang through her head. She wanted to stop, honestly, but there was this innate pull inside her that she couldn’t get rid of. And Aria now realized why. “Go…” she mumbled quietly, her words fighting with her actions as she grabbed his shoulders and spun around, pinning him to the tree she had previously slumped against. “Go,” she said more definitively, as if she’d given him a chance. Aria didn’t know how to control her movements, and there she was again, inching closer to Lucas, wishing she could stop what was happening.

He supposed he hadn’t realized just how strong Aria was.  Lucas found himself pinned against the tree, his face no doubt starting to show just how freaked out he was now feeling.  This wasn’t like her.  At all.  Weird things were happening all around camp.  Hades, he had a tail when he got in the water, for the gods sake.  “No,” he insisted.  “Aria, snap out of it.  We need to get you help.”

As soon as he touched her arm, his heartbeat sounded even louder in her head. It was steady, constant. Aria took a second to keep time to the tempo of his heart. It was the weirdest thing to her, feeling this strange sensation fill her heart, her brain, her senses. “I…” she tried to respond, but couldn’t fixate on anything other than his neck. Why, she couldn’t figure out. But, gods, it just looked so good. That was weird, right? Definitely weird. She tried to take a step away, but realized she had taken a step closer. “Lucas,” she muttered again, and bit her lip. She felt herself run her tongue over her teeth and finally noticed it. Fangs. Everything seemed to click and Aria felt her grip on Lucas tighten. “You need…” she started, bringing her face in closer, her voice lower, and her breath warm on his neck, “to run.”

The more Aria seemed to search for words, the more concerned it made him.  His mind was racing: did she hit her head?  Was she suffering from a concussion?  There was a slight reassurance when she grabbed his arm back, but the force she used was more than he anticipated.  It didn’t hurt, exactly, but he was looking forward to her letting go.  He was confused as she lowered her head towards his neck, but decided not to question it, in case it had something to do with her illness.  “Aria, you’re scaring me,” he stated.  “But I’m not leaving you like this.”

She turned towards the voice, instantly recognizing it. “Lucas,” she mumbled, catching sight of him and the concerned look on his face. Aria wondered for a minute how awful she must have looked, but the thought was soon pushed away as the urge she felt earlier suddenly increased. She shook her head in response to his question, feeling dazed but alert enough to keep hearing his heartbeat. It was weird, but she felt as though that was what was keeping her conscious, hearing his the beat of his heart loudly through her ears.

Crossing the rest of the short distance between them, Lucas grabbed hold of her arm.  “Maybe we should get you to the infirmary then.  They’ll know how to help you.  Can you walk alright?”  His mind was racing, trying to figure out the best thing to do.  Rumors had already stated Foster as being MIA, so that was out of the question.  Surely there were other Apollo kids though who would know what was wrong.  “Have you eaten anything today?  You look kind of weak.”  And she did.  She looked sort of the way he would always feel the few times he tried to train on an empty stomach.
