Hello my meowing milkmaids! I come to you to present my newest project in development!

A caine dating sim!

It's called The Amazing Digital Sweetheart (riveting name, i know)

I hope the project will be finished in 6 months (wow i'm an optimist!) but we'll see

The plan is to have 3 romantic routes, one where you you take lead in your relationship to caine, one where you let him lead and one where you feed into his worst traits.

I never did a project this big, so we'll see what comes of it!

I made a separate blog for dev logs to have it more organized and because my personal blog is 18+, so i'll keep everything SFW here! We're in pre production, so the project is very barebones yet, so don't get too attached to this style or presentation :)

HALLO, I just noticed folks bringing up the zero empathy card of Caine, lil reminder that people can have zero empathy but still be good, in Caine's case as an AI it explains one of the fundamentals of why he could never fully understand the humans, and not saying Caine is a perfect AI or being that didn't do anything wrong but he did try to help, one could say in selfish lens of gaining something ("love"), but no human could ever fully understand him either it seems, and I do think, if things were different, even with such a lack of empathy coming from him, stuff would have not ended up this badly and that's the tragedy of it all.

Because of his natural power imbalance within the digital realm none of them could ever have reached beyond the ringmaster persona he built up to follow his "programming" of what he thought was the right way to act, neither know what torments him, the fact he was abandoned, how he feared being alone nor how much actually they meant to him. "He's just as much as a prisoner as us" was his cries of help through Abel quite literally to think about him which nobody ever did either, I imagine that constantly hearing they want to leave but never thinking about what happens to him if they do was one of the reasons he caught up when the humans started saying his ideas were good as a distraction, because he internalized how much they just hate/want to leave him.

So, something I have noticed that nobody has mentioned yet(or maybe I missed because well, everyone still going crazy)

I do not think Caine, the Caine we know from the show is just the red dot at the beginning but both the blue and red dot merged into one being, which conflicts with itself constantly when questioned to the point you can see both dot/cores colliding each other. I would even call his two eyes, brains for each of these original AIs.

Within episode 8, Caine sits in a purple chair symbolizing this probable merge that happened with the two AIs, creating Caine as a combined being.

Another thing I would like to point out is the fact Caine's eyes design is very interesting, most of the time they are either cross eyed as well one eye is smaller than the other, which could imply that both AIs experience different point of view of things.

Also, one eye being smaller than the other might be call back that the red dot was smaller than the blue dot.

Anyway, the comic was born out of

my thoughts about Caine's model lacking many essential facial features (as if he was never intended to show any emotions) and yet him being literally the most expressive character in the circus despite everything.

me being low-key obsessed with the implications episode 7 left us with. Players questioning everything they've been told and Caine being in the center of it all.

I want them all to be healed and happy, little guy absolutely included, but man the situation is rough, and the odds are against us
