Hey there! I'm Luka Neff! I'm a 19 y/o artist and animator who spends most of her time daydreaming and drawing. I get hyperfixated easily but right now I'm really deep into Look outside and I plan to stay there for a while.

I also occasionally post about Lovers In A Dangerous Space Time and Slay The princess. You may also see me posting OC stuff every now and then.

I never managed to choose a single appearance for my sona, so you might as well treat me as a shapeshifter! Tho I mostly jump between human, worm and dragon form.

Why I Didn't Choose Their 'Original' Color

Just a short story about my experience loving Look Outside. I love Lookoutside so much

As much I consider the look outside fandom one of the less toxic I have ever been in, I got to admit that some people are really «serious» (to give it a word) about the skin color topic. I've seen post directly mocking and calling racist this people.

Don't get me wrong I DO NOT LIKE WHITEWASHING and I don't think is right. Look outside characters ARE DARK SKINNED and that's a fact. BUT attacking like that for a mistake is also really really wrong 😭.

I've seen such cool art that whitewash the characters. It's as simple as a respectful correction. "Beautiful art man! But this characters have darker skin tones and some people might feel offended by the change".

Most of this people (like this artist) are just having fun and want to show their work not being completely sure about their mistake (because the lights and renderings in the game makes it really confusing). Let's not take the wonder of sharing art be taken away for a mistake like this.

NOW if you deliberately ignore ALL THE ADVICE and keep whitewashing the characters despite all the arguments given. You straight up can't tolerate a black character being MC and therefore, you're racist. "I can draw them however I want" No. That's a dumb attempt of an excuse and that just proves a point

A mistake can be forgiven as long as you are willing to fix it, change and improve. A decision cannot.

"It's just a bunch of 1s and 0s" your attitude towards 1s and 0s can perfectly reflect your attitude towards real people, wake up.

Anyways. I genuinely hope the fanbase can get more respectful towards this topic and drive people to be better so we keep the beautiful fandom we have here! And I hope the people who whitewas black characters can understand and change for the better. Because this girl's art is truly beautiful and I'd hate to see it getting ruined by a deliberate decision.
