Lilith Clawthorne was, admittedly, one of the easiest to work with of the Boiling Isles’ elite. A staunch perfectionist, but with reasonable expectations for her subordinates and a willingness to act cordial, if not particularly friendly, with the scouts under her command. It was certainly better than dealing with Kikimora’s self-centeredness or the Warden’s ill temper.

But there was something in Lilith’s eyes that evening, a sharp icy edge that made the scouts look at the floor. None of the guards had ever received worse than a passive-aggressive quip from her, but nobody wanted to take their chances. So all was silent until she crossed the hallway and closed the door behind her, and then for a long moment after.

For what it was worth, Lilith didn’t give the scouts a second glance. She was so deep in her own thoughts that she barely even noticed them.

Patreon curiosities prints from June, July, August and September! This year I branched out on my herbologist rewards (which are plants I draw and research each month, write up their folklore and send to my wonderful herbologists all around the world) but I was finding myself so fascinated by all the weird and wonderful uses of the plants in folk and herbal lore - that I wanted to draw them! So that’s how the curiosities series was born. Also I love to paint a sparkly bottle 🌟
