Hi.
Call me James or Jamie.
He/him
30 year old widower

( @lukewarm-coffee-cup RP starter hehe )
Harley headed over to Jamie's the moment she finished work, not bothering to change or do anything more than wash her hands. Wearing a plain white button up with the sleeves rolled up and what definitely looks like blood where someone grabbed the bottom of her shirt, jeans, and boots. No makeup, hair up, and scarily sober.
She texts Jamie to let him know she's here, holding her helmet and a couple folders in her other hand. She would've made a copy of his house key, but she forgot to do it when she had the time.
Jamie came outside a minute later, dressed in a white button down, slacks, and dress shoes. His hair slicked back. He smiled when he saw her.
"You know you could just come up to my apartment and I'd let you in from there?" He teased, holding his hand out for her.
"And spare you from having to come all the way outside? why would I want to do that?" She jokes back with a smile that seems less genuine and more halfhearted. She has a lot on her mind currently
But she puts her phone back in her pocket and takes Jamie's hand anyway, trying to perform normalcy like she isn't the most nervous she's been in her whole 36 years of living.
He shrugs and leads her up to his apartment. Not speaking a word on the way there. He could sense something wasn't quite right, but he didn't know what and that made him nervous. Very nervous.
Once the door was closed and locked behind him he turned to her again. "So? You had something to talk about?" He murmured before dipping down to take off his shoes.
Harley sighs, before grabbing one of the folders and handing it over to Jamie. "Before i say anything, i feel like you may want this." She says.
The folder, a plain folder with Jamie's full legal name written out in sharpie. The contents, Some information about Jamie, basic stuff, a picture of him, and a couple rough draft blueprints of his Jigsaw trap. "and before you assume anything, i had nothing to do with any of that. I just have all the papers and files." She explains quietly, her own feelings about it waring over her usual professionalism.
His hands began to tremble as he looked through the contents of the folder, his jaw tightening with every paper, every photo, every diagram he uncovered. He wanted to believe Harley, and he did for the most part. But he was still tense.
After a moment his expression hardened as he walked over to the dining table to spread the contents of the file out in front of him. "What does this mean?" He asked softly
"I wish i could tell you more... But I'm putting a lot on the line just letting you read all that." She says, being kind enough to give jamie some space. She knows how a person would react to something like this, and usually she finds joy in it. but not this time.
She's still holding that second folder, gripped tightly in her hand. Her own file, and proof of what she knows and the role she plays if Jamie wishes to see proof.
He nods, still looking over the files. He'd positioned himself so he could still watch her, so she couldn't sneak up on him. He wanted to believe her so so bad, but there was still that bit of doubt in the back of his mind.
"What's that?" His tone came out a bit snapy though he tried to keep it neutral. All the color had drained from his face as well. His eyes were fixed on the other folder she was holding.
Harley holds up the folder, she looks uncomfortable just holding it. “It’s a physical threat, a promise if you will, of what’ll happen to me if anyone finds out I gave you that file.” She explains, walking over to where Jamie is, making sure to keep a safe enough distance to not freak him out, and holding out the folder for him to take. “You can read it if you wish to.”
The contents of her folder is just three papers: a signed copy of a contract, a letter written by Kramer, and a single picture of a mask on a table with two hollow spaces for eyes one eye covered in crusted old dried up blood.
He swallowed hard and suddenly there was a pit in his stomach, he bit at the inside of his cheek to hide the subtle tremble of his jaw. The thought of loosing her had suddenly made him very nauseous as well.
"I'm very good at keeping secrets" he mumbled, closing up both files. "These are your files, yes? No one saw you come here with them?" His voice had suddenly taken on a serious, almost icey tone. The tone reserved mainly for interrogations and talking to his father.
“No, nobody saw.” Harley says quietly, noticing the cold tone Jamie has.
She sighs “I would’ve told you about this sooner, but..” A long pause of silence between her words. “I’m not some kind of machine, I’m human, even I fear death.”
"Good, that's good" he murmured, running a hand over his face before pushing the files back twords her.
"I know doll I know. Can't judge you too bad..." He turned to glance out the window "my sister... she uh.." He trailed off, running a hand through his hair. "You want something to drink?"
Harley’s face lights up with recognition when Jamie mentions his sister. But she decides now’s not the greatest time to bring up the fact that they know each other.
“Sure” she replies instantly. “Are you sure you don’t just want me to leave though?” She asks quietly, she doesn’t quite want to leave but she will if her presence is upsetting Jamie.
He shakes his head quickly, swallowing hard. "I don't want you to leave but if you have to I won't stop you"
As he spoke he made his way over to the kitchen, grabbing a glass from the cupboard. "I've got water, lemonade, wine, tea, coffee?" He murmured, trying to distract himself from what he'd just learned.
“wine?” She doesn’t usually drink, like ever. But she didn’t smoke before she came over and she’s currently feeling more emotions than she’d prefer to feel.
He nods, exchanging the glass in his hand for a wine glass, two of them in fact. "Red or white?" He asked before dipping down below the counter and disappearing from view.
He comes back up a moment later with two bottles of wine, one red, one white. Both of the bottles frosty and cold. He sets them on the counter for her to examine.
"red" she replies, keeping her voice quiet. For the first time in her entire life, she feels bad... Horrible even. And she doesn't wish to possibly make it worse. For her or Jamie, so she chooses to stay quiet.
He poured a glass for both of them, pushing one twords her as he took a sip of his.
"I would appreciate if this didn't change anything" he murmured, voice monotone again, it was all he could do to keep it from trembling.
"then it won't." Harley states softly, taking a sip from the glass she was handed. "Hell you could just forget all of this if you want" She adds in a much quieter whisper
"Good. I'm glad" he takes another sip, tapping his ring against his wine glass. "Movie?" He asked softly, emotion slowly seeping back into his voice.
"Could make popcorn, drink wine" he shrugs, glancing everywhere but her face .
"Sure" she would've cringed if she knew how strange she was acting, but she doesn't and that's for the best.
He nods, taking the wine bottle to the coffee table before returning to the kitchen to make the popcorn. He hadn't really processed she was acting weird, and honestly he really didn't care that much in the long run. As long as he still had her.
"Go pick something" he murmured, gesturing to the TV as he poured a cup of popcorn kernels into a pan. He was so focused on that he didn't even notice his phone ringing on the counter.

Must you blink at me through my ask inbox?
I have to finish up some work, and I'll be over to talk.
I must yes, it's actually vital to my survival. Enrichment if you will.
Boo boooooo, I'm much more important, no?
You are very important to me, Jamie. I'll be quick about it, I promise.
Good. I guess I'll clean the apartment while I wait for you, doll.

Boo boooooo, I'm much more important, no?
Every time I have to go in to discuss things, that weird ass doll thing is always staring at me.
It's incredibly unnerving, so here I am complaining about it.
What???
Work stuff. I can't discuss too much about it. That would be highly against the contract I'm afraid.
What if I pinky promised not to tell?
I suppose...
I could tell you some things, but I'd prefer to talk in person.
Well I'm just doing paperwork from home today, swing by any time. I'd love to see you again
