Life and destruction, knowledge and ignorance, silence and sound. The universe changes, following the continuous alternation of opposites, in a perpetual mutation goeing from one state to another, acquiring at every time more complex features. But it’s in the coincidentia oppositorum (the coincidence of opposites) of the ineffable infinity that the secret essence of things is reveiled.

Binary Scores is a parallel project of music and pieces of clothes developed from the same matrix, a binary code, with which LUMEN ET UMBRA, in collaboration with Tinelli, starts taking as a reference the thought of humanist and theologian Nicholas of Cusa. Excerpts of “De Docta Ignorantia“, the book in which Cusano theorizes the finitude of mankind’s rational knowledge in god’s understanding, are encoded on high quality materials, carefully selected and treated by creative mind of Issei Fujita. The light is broken down into the fine textures, filtering through the pattern’s structure and following the rhythmical series of characters, transformed into a sequence of notes in the music composition, which can be played as a virtual instrument or drum. The incredible research on fabrics, which has always characterizes the brand’s aesthetics, is reflected in the yarns, light as feathers and beautifully finished, which makes the garments perfect for layering. The sharp cutting softly structures the volumes and the controlled drapes, shaping the pieces without compromising their kind of anatomical adaptation to the body movements, while Issei‘s meticulous attention to details can be fully appreciated in every seam and artisanal finishing. The subtle and precious color variations modulate the essential design of clothes, unique in its naked and immortal simplicity.

The Absolute Maximum coincides in the Minimum, blending into a circle that has no individual parts. Our intellect is driven  beyond both complete affirmation and negation, losing his rational dimension into the indivisible synthesis of contrasts, where the incomprehensible truth appears in the pure simplicity, imbued with a new boundless power.
