Which UU Protag would be the best parent/guardian?
Or, the UU Protags ranked best to worst based on their caretaking, in my opinion
SEVERAL DISCLAIMERS: Just a simple clarification that this is directed towards the UU characters/personas, not the content creators themselves. This is also in reference to the protagonistsā personalities as of The Civil War Finale. If they obtain character development in the future that contradicts this post, then please excuse it!Ā
P.S. I also wrote this last night at 2AM, so Iām sorry if my writing sounds high. i think i screwed up the numbering too (tumblr thing idk?) so pretend it's 1-4
In my opinion, Parrot would be the best parent out of the four. He definitely wouldnāt be a perfect parent, but heād do better than the other three. Parrot is a (usually) responsible and selfless player, and I think thatād translate into his caretaking. He would be able to teach his kid basic manners, responsibilities, and how to accomplish tasks. I also think he would be good at explaining to his kid how to do something, whether it be technical or emotional. Parrot would most likely do well at reasoning with his kid when theyāre upset, since heās a naturally empathetic person.
However, thatās not to say there would be downsides to his parenting. When Parrot is determined to achieve a goal, he sticks to it tenaciously. Even when people verbally disagree with him (nods to pre-Director Arc Odyssey Duo arguments), Parrot very rarely lets up and goes to great lengths for a certain outcome. I think this could affect his parenting as well. I donāt think heād force anything onto his kid, such as an expectation. But they might not always understand the decisions that Parrot makes for himself. Because of this, they may find it difficult to compromise with one another depending on what the situation is.Ā
All in all, Parrot would be a competent parent. He would be a good teacher in facts and feelings. He would also be a nice role model to look up to. But Parrotās steadfastness in decision-making could leave them struggling where to align with him.
Flame would be the second best parent after Parrot, not too far behind. Despite Flameās rather chaotic journey of PvP, he could make a decent caretaker. Flame is an outwardly tough person, but he inwardly values communication. He does surprisingly well at expressing his feelings to the people he cares about (i.e. communicating with Lomedy). It would make sense for him to encourage his kid to do the same. Not only that, but Flame is also a more hands-on guy. He would do well at teaching his kid basic survival skills, physical health, and street smarts. He also would do well at disciplining his kid and knowing how to say ānoā. The child heās taking care of would probably know how to defend themselves at a young age.
That being said, Flame isnāt the most externally sentimental guy. Heās direct in communication and can express his thoughts well, but he might not always know how to respond to vulnerability. Heāll definitely try, but Flame might have trouble abandoning his rough exterior to provide clarity for his kid. In addition, Flameās overall environment may be intense for the kid. Assuming he doesnāt abandon his goal to become a combat master, there would be common occasions of violence. Flameās kid may be forced to experience this violence consequently.Ā
Overall, Flame would be a decent parent. He would be supportive of his kid (for the most part) and could teach them how to be independent and competent on their own. However, Flameās environment risks his kid growing up with the mindset of normalizing violence. The two also may struggle with being vulnerable with each other. This might make the kid think that they shouldnāt be sensitive.Ā
Before I even begin, let me say this: Spoke should not take care of a child in the first place! He can barely take care of himself. That aside, letās get into his parenting.
Iāll go over Spokeās cons first rather than his pros. First of all, Spoke has a very chaotic energy. Heās an internally selfish person. He quite literally doesnāt know how to solve his problems, so heāll lie instead. Heāll cover up the bad parts of himself by being outwardly positive and easygoing. Spoke is overall a self-destructor and wouldnāt be mature enough to teach his kid well. He might pose himself as a good role model to his kid, but his worst mistake would be lying to them. Spoke would also probably struggle to see what heās doing wrong as a parent, and might pin it on his kid at first. He WOULD have an idea of teaching his kid the basics (manners, skills, morals), but he would have trouble applying them. In fact, he might teach his kid more bad habits than good.
The pros of Spokeās parenting is that heād be supportive and greatly enthusiastic. Even if they get into a disagreement, I donāt think his kid would ever feel uncared for or denied. If anything, Spoke would be the one needing his kidās approval. They might even learn a thing or two and take after Spokeās optimism and planning.Ā
Spoke wouldnāt be a great parent because he doesnāt know how to parent. Heād wholeheartedly love his kid, but wouldnāt be able to sufficiently provide for them. He simply hasnāt learned enough lessons to be mature enough to parent. (Love him but no)
((BEFORE YOU GGUYS EVEN COME AFTER ME, WEMMBU IS MY 2ND FAVORITE POV. THIS IS NOT A HATE TRAIN)
Last but not leastā! Well, technically, yes, the least. Wemmbu would be the worst parent out of the four, unfortunately. Do not let him parent a kid.
Ā Wemmbu is insanely similar AND different from Spoke in a way that pushes him to the bottom of the list. Heās similar in selfishness, chaotic energy and immaturity. Wemmbu is used to being independent and violence is his second nature. Even if he cares for his kid, he WONāT do enough for them. Egg is Wemmbuās best friend whom he cares a lot for, but heās done him wrong as well. (i.e. Wemmbu not admitting to Egg that heās the reason Eggās going back into his solitary, and instead lying). On top of that, he doesnāt know what he wants for himself either. He claims he wants a passive lifestyle with Egg, but freely kills people who are minor inconveniences.Ā
Wemmbu contrasts from Spoke in the way that heās apathetic rather than enthusiastic. In a lot of situations, especially serious ones, Wemmbu claims that he simply doesnāt care. An apathetic parent who overlooks things in general is far worse than an enthusiastic one who knows nothing. Wemmbuās form of caring for someone is just not enough for a child.Ā
(And no, I donāt think he would be able to teach his kid important lessons. Wemmbu needs a lot more lessons himself)
The pros I have for him are fairly short, but still there. He could teach his kid survival skills, similarly to Flame. I also think heād be protective towards his kid and do his best to eliminate threats.Ā
Wemmbu would not be a good parent. He would need to work on himself way longer before even thinking about taking care of a child. What lessons could he teach his kid if he doesnāt know them himself?
guys.... pls drop hcs about these.... id love to see
