colourfulmoniker here dropping in to say that Lydia was in a car accident and is on bed rest for some time. She hopes to be back soon and have things up and running. She said to feel free to add her on Kik (ceersei) and Skype (lyddydoodlebug) if you’re mutuals.
She certainly did cut an imposing figure as Dodger leaned away uncertainly from her, pressing deeper into the booth seat. And he swallowed, tongue darting out to lick his lips.
“I—no, it ain’t that. I just need a place to stay for a bit, yeah? Not long. I promise.”
" Then I'll make sure to get you a room and let Granny know. But eventually you're going to have to tell me why. "
She wasn't going to push it, at least not right now. But there was a part of her that was not entirely pleased he'd opted for a room and not more permanent help.

“Ya do realize ya just said ‘really nice’ twice in a row, yeah? You must be as tired as I am.”
He paused as he glanced about. He was starting to make a habit of this where he was the last one to leave the diner every night.
“Ya want any help cleanin’ or anythin’? I swear I’m not a complete bum.”
" -- I did didn't it ? Sorry -- I had to come in at six am. Mornings are not actually my strong suit. Definitely a night person, except on the nights I've been up before dawn. I'm not making any sense --. "
There was a slight grin as she rose, fingers brushing through her hair before straightening up slightly.
" Well ------ you can get your own food to take to the inn. I'll clean up everything. "

"If I fall asleep on the table are ya ganna hold et against meh?” Trip asked as he glanced over toward the woman accented in red. Did she really have to wear those shorts of all things today? It was probably a good thing that Tripp was tired.
“I’d tip extra if ya didn’t.”
" -- You do realize I can direct you to a really nice bed and breakfast. And it's really nice. "
There was a faint grin as she watched him, yet again he was the last one in the place. Moving to sit across from him, she cocked her head to the side.
" I appreciate the tips. But --- how about I get you some muffins to go. And when I close I'll show you the inn?"
“People will travel anywhere for good food - it’s crazy.”

“What shall I say? I’m a hard working man with a large stomach.” There was a hint of a tease in the way he spoke, his grin he tried to cover, however; of course, he certainly used his ‘never-ending' hunger as an excuse for his nearly daily visits. There was another reason.
She was avoiding his gaze, despite her enjoyment at his company, she was almost accutely aware of his nearness. Her conscience sounding far too much like Granny for her own enjoyment.
" I'm sure one day your large stomach will woo a woman who wants nothing more to do than to fill your stomach all day ---. "
[ Everything Is Still A Blur ]
Affection she was taught accomplished nothing. Her father never held her not once. Nor did he ever offer her gentle words of encouragement or praise. The man’s words were often harsh in nature hoping to accomplish certain things of the girl he had created. Leaving her this way that was by far from perfect. She was flawed, perhaps that is where her perfection rested on was just that. The only thing this woman could take credit for of her own discretion was her mistakes. Miranda was uncertain still if this would be one of those mistakes. Trying to find little ways to rid herself of the details that were imprinted on her since the day she was born. To start, she could learn how to accept kindness without strings. Everyone wanted something — everyone. You offer something in exchange to get what you want. That way no one can ask or turn you down. They’re then obligated to you and what it is you desire. Miranda looked at him with those eyes. He offered her breakfast. He offered her aspirin. Nothing requested of her — yet. "Yes." But he was right. She should eat something. With the way her head was pounding leaving his comfort would not be in the cards at this very moment. Though it didn’t make her forget her manners. "Please. Thank you."
In his trek to the kitchen he probably should have found some clothes. It wasn't that he was ashamed, it was just -- he should have realized it might make her uncomfortable. There was a faint pause as he watched her. Concern clear on his features.
" Are you sure you're alright? I'll get breakfast going in a second. Is it just your head or is something else wrong? "
He didn't want anything in return, he just wanted to somehow remove the shadows of sadness and emptiness that were so clear in her eyes. Especially when she was smiling, because it never reached her eyes. Call him weird for noticing her eyes with everything else she had going for her, but that was where you could see who someone was, not just what they happened to look at.
"— I’ve ‘eard tha’ about a lo’ of things. And tha’ too. Compared t’ah tea? No it’s no’. Bu’ I’m willin’ to try a cup Joos ‘cause you’re cute and ya seem to swear by the stoof.”
" I've heard it tastes even sweeter after a kiss. But hey, who am I to put such pressure on the poor coffee. And truth be told, I question the kiss if you need a jolt of coffee post kiss. "
There was a lazy grin as he moved to complete her order, returning with a mug of coffee. Extra cream, extra sugar. With the faintest wafting hint of cinnamon and vanilla. What could he say. He enjoyed coffee ---.
“I know people wit’ sensitive noses. We don’t always get ‘long real well, lemme tell yuh.”
Valetta, Haru — they had too strong of olfactory senses for her liking. Damn animals.
" Really? I can't tell why. You smell amazing. Very -- homey. "
Admittedly there was a faint hint of blood, or maybe death, whatever it was -- it was there. Yet almost in stark contrast to her. Sure she was pretending to be harsh, yet he didn't believe that people were as they pretended. Because the truth of the matter is. Everyone was pretending something.

Why couldn’t she just leave this alone? Why pull at the thread until he was to come unraveled at her need to know why —- Why he was doing this. He could tell her, ease her sting. But there were eyes, there were ears everywhere and all he would risk was losing someone along the way. He couldn’t win here. Lose Graham, or lose Red. How was this fair? Life never was. He learned that so long ago that life would always take no matter how much you tried to give. Caiden never tried to keep the balance of the universe. He was just as selfish as the next person in his young until the day he managed to find comfort in not one but two hearts to call home. And now it was abandon one for the sake of the other — There was no other way to rationalize this. The only thing he could do was realize who would be better off without him and somehow that came out to Red. She had Snow now. She had more of a home than he could offer her. ”Are you so sure that I didn’t before? That’s the beauty of me. I’m a liar. I will take everything and make it sound like the sweetest truth you’ve ever heard. The truth and me have never seen eye to eye, Red. And we never will. I don’t see how you’re going to stop me.”
" No -- you're Caiden. Yes you lie, but so does everyone. You tell the truth with your eyes, and with your hands, you tell the truth even when you're lying because it's there in your voice and I know. And I don't even want to stop and think about why I know that. But I do. And I need you to look at me -- look at me right now.. "
Fingers moved to brush along his jaw, eyes searching his for the answers his lips were too willing to lie about. She should know the truth, she knew him, she knew him better than she knew herself. And she liked it that way, she liked knowing him ---. Maybe she couldn't read the details, but she could assure herself of this truth.
He didn't want to go.
" I can stop you. Because you are lying. Right now you're lying to me. And I know you are. I know you Caiden, I've known you just as you know me. The good and the bad, all the parts inbetween that we're not sure about. Don't ask me why, or how. Just trust me. You don't need to do this alone ---. "
She pauses for breath, unwilling to relenquish her grip on him. So fingers seek out his hands, tangling there with frenzied need.
" Let me go with you. You're my family. You're my home. You're where I belong. A pack sticks together. No matter what. You taught me that. "

( regardless, he thinks it interesting; for he, too, is a wolf, albeit in his own, rather-figurative way. solely in name (or, perhaps, in-character); whereas she, or so he assumes, means to say that she is a true wolf. not just in spirit, but in form.
his comment regarding the ‘savior' is meant to be fla- ttering, or something along those lines. this much can be gathered just from the smirk upon his features. )

There's a grin as she shrugs slightly, being the wolf doesn't really bother her anymore. At least not if she doesn't think about it. Over all the town was pretty good at accepting her, between that and figuring out that fear was most of her problem -- yeah she had it under control.
Didn't mean she necessarily enjoyed the time of month where literally everything in her was screaming for a lot of things she shouldn't have.
" - We're a pretty varied town. But hey -- maybe bending is the same as Regina throwing fireballs in the town hall. It has happened more than once. Pro tip, don't question her policy on pot holes. You'll get run out of town by a very angry mayor --. "
His hand arced toward his head as he took a step toward the girl. Hook knew what she could be - yet he held no fear as he advanced. If she thought he was here for Snow White then the girl was more of a blasted fool than she looked. A scoff rang from the pirate as his hook was snapped up, tip coming to rest under Ruby’s jaw.
”The queen is no concern of mine. You should be more concerned about yourself than others. There are some who pay a hefty price for a wolf girl.”
She should be more afraid than she was. The full moon was weeks away. She was at her weakest, and the pirate had the full advantage. Head tilted as the cool metal brushed her skin. Fear didn't register in her eyes, yet her breathing increased as she stepped closer. Uncaring as the pressure increased. Meeting his gaze unflinching she cocked her head. " Provided she makes it there alive. Otherwise it's entirely useless ---- and a waste of precious effort. "
she takes a moment to deliberate, for tempting options are deserving of thorough thought. either yields a win and a lose, so to speak, thus there is not much difficulty in arriving at a decision. still, this is required formality in a sense, henceforth it is given.

"Yeah, okay." He stepped aside allowing Ruby in to his tiny place he called home. grabbing the blanket off of the back of the couch he’d wrap it around her shoulders and reflectively moved to brush the tears from her cheeks. He never liked seeing her hurt like this. He never liked seeing her hurt at all. Ruby was crying — Ruby doesn’t cry. Ruby smiles, and she smiles in a way that’s so intoxicating that you can’t help but smile with her. It was missing. Even behind the eyes he couldn’t find it it. "Can I get you anything? Water? Coffee? Cheap beer?" None of those would actually help in the moment but neither would prying for details. If he could just put two and two together… he’d know.
" -- Coffee. " She didn't want to really talk, she just wanted to make a beeline for anywhere that reeked of him and find some sort of safety. Because whether or not she realized it, somewhere along the line -- in their odd off and on again friendship, he'd become the one person she felt safest with.
And there was no way she could tell him this. It wasn't pride or anything foolish like that. It was fear that the way he looked at her would change, or he'd say what the voices in her head kept chanting. That she had asked for it, that because of how she dressed, and how she acted that -- she had deserved this.
She didn't want to hear that in his voice. She just wanted the warmth and safety that his presence provided. The second she thinks his back is turned there's an unbidden quiver to her inhale. She's still shaking, and it isn't from the cold.
