🌜 Selene’s Alter 🌛
I have a main alter but this is my special alter built in dedication for Selene 🥰
Selene is the Greek Titan Goddess of the moon, Artemis and Hecate are also considered lunar goddesses yet Selene is more associated as being the moon herself🌝
She drives the moon across the sky every night in her silver chariot led by two Snow White horses.
Symbols of Selene include horses, a torch, a silver chariot, a cloak and of course the moon - specifically the crescent moon 🌙
Other things associated with Selene is the colours Silver and blue, Pegasus’s, the metal silver, Jasmine, moonstone and Selenite🌚
On Selenes alter I have a Pegasus statuette, a silver candle, some silver necklaces that have the stars and moon on them, moon water, moonstones, selenite, lavender in a silver pouch with origami stars, a spell jar I made for her on on the walls are poems and paintings which she especially loves as offerings when they are my original works 🤍
If any of you are hoping to build an alter for your deity don’t hesitate to message me and I shall do some reaserch - my friend has alters for Hades, Aphrodite and Poseidon if you’d like to know what to offer them on their alters 🌟
Blessed Be 💫
Why you should have a mirror at your front door 💫
We moved house today and I made sure to cleanse the whole house with white sage and I put our mirror so that it’s facing our front door - ! this is super important ! if you live in a caldesac like I now do, for energies tend to get stuck in them, so the mirror will help to deflect any negative engergies coming into your home 😊
Blessed Be💗
Offerings 💗
Offerings can literally be anything! I know that my deity’s love banana bread, fruits, milk and honey.
Make sure that after you are returning your offerings to nature, I bury mine at the foot of a large tree in my backyard but compost works too or just as long as they go back into nature💚

Spells are not simple.
Here's a real tip for all you baby witches out there, diving into spellwork before anything else: Spells aren't as simple as going through the motions, and a spell probably won't work if you don't understand how to use your Will.
This is what I've been taught by my mentor who has been a witch for 25 years. You have to set your intentions and use your Will to match. What is your Will and how is it different from your Intention? This post may get long, but it's important and I haven't seen any others cover this, so please don't give up half way through!
Basically, it's like this:
Intention: your reason for a spell, your goal/what you want + ingredients to match
Your Will: the Power you put behind your spell or working
The intention part is easy. You figure out your goal, pick a spell or create a spell that uses ingredients or actions that match your intent, and then you perform it. This is what most of Tumblr will teach you how to do. While working with simply your intent can sometimes work, it's more like a coin toss because you're not actually making your spellwork as powerful as it could be.
But your Will, as I've been taught, is the most important part of any magick and is the most often overlooked. You can make magick with nothing but your intent and your Will together. Did you know that? What is your Will? It's the power you put behind your intent. Your Will is your Power.
That's right, baby witches. You have to learn how to tap in to the power around you as well as the power within yourself. This is why spells are never as simple as you think; if you can't add your Will to a spell, it will never be as powerful as you want it to be. This concept can prove difficult, so I'll try to break it down as simply as I can.
Your Will comes from the energy within you, but you can also tap into the energy around you to add to that power. This means that to find your Will you have to first learn how to:
Perceive Energy
Feel Energy
Feel your Own Energy
Touch Energy
Gather Energy Inside and Around You
Manipulate Energy
Infuse Energy with Intent
This is the basis for finding and understanding magick. Magick is all about energy, and the sooner you learn how to do these things, the sooner you'll start to realize your power as a witch. And this is why I say that spells are not as simple as Tumblr makes them; at least, they shouldn't be.
When you're performing a spell, you should be raising energy and infusing that energy with your intent. You could be adding energy to your ingredients, or simply raising it and holding it, to be released into the world when the spell is finished. That's your Will; the energy you add to your working. The stronger the energy, the stronger the spell.
A simple way to put it: Intent + Will = Power
So please do yourself a favor. Research energy. Find it, figure it out, feel it within you. Take your time to truly understand that power so you can properly perform powerful spellwork.
Learning all of this can take time and that is fine. If you take your time to work on this, you will be grateful for it in the long run. Feeling the energy that surrounds you and that comes from within you is such a beautiful thing, I promise. Energy is wonderful.

Today’s Reading 🌚
Today my cards are telling me to stop living in the past, and that if I don’t put an end to it it will cause me a lot of strife.
It is the beginning of an end on a journey that I relate to as a relationship and overall it’s telling me to love myself before I can love anyone else
*this is my personal interpretation
Blessed Lughnasadh 💚
From the Southern Hemisphere witches🍃
Lughnasadh 🌻
This is for my Southern Hemisphere witches such as myself ❤️
Celebrated on August 1st in the Northern Hemisphere and on the 8th of February in the Southern Hemisphere🌳
The name of the holiday derives from Old Gaelic and is a combination of Lugh, a Celtic god, and násad, or assembly.🌺
The holiday honors Lugh, the Celtic god of light, but it also celebrates his mythical foster mother Tailtiu, who is said to have cleared the lands of Ireland to make way for the planting of crops. One of the earliest references to the holiday is a 15th century version of a medieval Irish legend, Tochmarc Emire. The saga suggests that the holiday celebrated the god, Lugh’s, wedding feast. Other legends, though, attribute the origins of the holiday to a mythical funeral rite Lugh held in honor of his mother, Tailtiu.🌞
Modern pagans celebrate Lughnasadh as a harvest festival, when the first crops of the year would traditionally have been reaped.🍃
Lughnasadh’s alternate name, Lammas, derives from the Old English term for “loaf mass.” It originated from early English celebrations of harvest time, during which loaves of bread were consecrated.🦙
Many pagans and polytheists celebrate the holiday with feasting, songs, and games. Some honor the harvest roots of the holiday by baking breads and cakes. 🍞
Get ready for Lughnasadh my Southern Hemisphere friends 😊
Blessed Be 🍄
How to Enchant an Object
1. Always start with intent. What is the goal of the enchantment? Beauty? Fear? Love? Once decided, gather your ingredients. Remember that they can be physical, such as dried herbs or crystals, or it can be your own energy.
2. Select an object to enchant. I find that jewelry works very well with enchantments, but almost any object will do. Personally, I believe that the material of the object you are enchanting will affect how long the spell lasts (I’ve found that metal holds it the longest).
3. Pick a time to do the spell. Depending on your beliefs, the time of day, lunar cycle, or day of week may strengthen or weaken the effects of your enchantment.
4. Place the object amid your spell components. So, if using physical components, place it in a glass bowl (or the floor, a hole in the ground, etc.) with your ingredients. If using energy, place it in your hands, or alternatively, hold your hands over the object (note: or another body part. It doesn’t have to be hands. I have done enchantments that are completed with a kiss, or require stomping. Again, it all depends on the intent).
5. Regardless of the type of ingredients you are using, imagine that your selected object is filling with new powers. The energy from your body - or from your ingredients - is being sucked out and absorbed. What color is this energy? Does it move quickly or slowly? Does it make a sound, or give off a smell? How do you feel imaging it? If it were to talk, what would it say? Know the energy. When you feel as though the object you are enchanting is teeming with new powers, gently bring your mind back to the present. Your enchantment is complete.

Spell to Encourage Plant Growth
For use on herbs, houseplants, gardens, etc.
First, charge up some sun water - I used the lovely crystal goblet you see pictured above, but feel free to use any vessel you like, as long as sunlight can shine into it.
Once the water has been charged and you are ready, dip your hand into the water and sprinkle it over the intended target three times, saying as you do,
Grow hastily, Grow healthily, Grow heartily.
with one sprinkle being for each of these lines. Do the same for each plant/pot/plot/what have you.
Be aware that some plants, such as African violets, do not appreciate having water dripped on their leaves. For these, I suggest aiming for the soil or even for the item in which they are planted.
Repeat as needed.
For extra stubborn plants, you may wish to directly water them with the sun water, pouring three times, using the same words.
May all your plants grow swiftly and strong.
