I really wanted to draw @r8zzzs 's band AU jsjajsj. It took me forever to find a sketch I liked,,, at the end I settled with this one and drew Hiccup with @frostedflakes52 's beautiful bass design!

these were my thumbnail sketches! i spent only a few minutes on each, then i had some friends vote on their favorite, which was 3! 2nd place was 1, which i might still use some other time <3

next i did a color test, which ended up fairly close to the end product. I mostly focused on composition, light, and movement, keeping it loose and sketchy

sadly i deleted my sketch layer somewhere down the line, but i basically pencilled in the final composition before laying down the colors! the linework was actually added later in the process after i could judge how everything was flowing together. I’m a painter at heart, so this tends to be better for my eye and workflow <3

Also i had a whole comic planned out for part of the anastasia AU but that was before I really properly figured out how to draw Jack ((and that was like a year ago when i first fell in love with this ship))), so I'm currently in the process of trying to redo what I had from the comic

Hijack Week Day 1 SUPER LATE HIJACK WEEK DAY X:

Fantasy AU (Swan Princess AU)

Prince Jack is heartbroken to hear the news that his betrothed, Hiccup Haddock, was killed by a horrible beast on his way back to his kingdom. Determined to seek revenge, he goes to hunt for this beast; however, not everything is as it seems.

This was originally going to be my submission for Hijack Week Fantasy AU, but I clearly didn't make THAT deadline, LOL! However I still had a huge blast working on this project and I was determined to finish it! I had the most fun drawing Dragon!Hiccup xD

Also when I was 80% done with this I had the realization I should have made Jack the one who was cursed and then I coulda done the whole thing with the white hair/he coulda been a light fury and that would've been the most Swan-like, but it was way too late to go back and change it.

My train of thought when I first started this was that Hiccup was the best fit for Odette cuz he was the one who started out as an "Ugly duckling" so to speak (or at least definitely grew up into a handsome swan LOL) so honestly I guess either of them work for the role.

Hi, ages ago @vindikaetion and I came up with a Trollhunters AU, and we kept meaning to work on it but other AU's took priority and this one started to collect dust, so I decided to share all my sketches I did aaaaaages ago for this AU :> Cuz I'm real proud of how I Troll-ified the guardians. Bunny is more of a mossy covered troll, Sandy is (obviously) a sandstone-like troll and Tooth is a troll with a gemstone like appearance! :>

(Not seen: North isn't a troll, he's a human who has worked with the trolls for years to keep them secret/safe).

Also if you can't read my awful handwriting, Hiccup is saying "For the glory of the Tsar, moonlight is mine to command".

ANYWAY the basic idea was that Hiccup is the Trollhunter (obviously) and finds out through his mentors that his best friend since kindergarten is a changeling. Unbeknownst to all of them, though: Jack has absolutely no idea he's a changeling.

When Jack finds out he's a changeling, obviously he freaks out and goes to the first person he thinks to confide in only to find out Hiccup has known this whole time and has been trying to distance himself thinking that Jack was a bad guy, and shennanigans ensue xD

So there'd be this whole mystery surrounding Jack and his origins, how he didn't know he was a changeling if it requires you to be born in the shadowlands etc to take over someone's life -- essentially they find out he was a new kind of changeling made by the Tsar (MIM, this version of Merlin lol) that didn't requre a human in order to shapeshift.

Anywhoozle there was a lot more lore and ideas that I don't wanna just dump in a single post, but feel free to send me asks if you wanna know more!

Also! It lives in my head rent free the idea that Astrid and Camicazi are sisters and I wanted to have that for this AU :D
