God Abel is so addicted to you, it's not even funny.
Everything you doâfrom simple everyday tasks like brushing your hair to more intimate moments like when you're loving him in bed, makes his head spin in euphoric ways. Abel isn't some sex-crazed guy like others he knows; the word "sex" or "fuck" feels too harsh to him. Especially when it's about you and him. The things you two do after a long day arenât just "fucking" theyâre more intimate, slower, and gentler. Making love to you is something Abel can't get over. The sounds you make and every breath you take make him throb in the best ways.
How can he handle everything you do? There's got to be more to you and him, right? More than just a casual hookup, which is already something he never thought he'd do. Abel sees making love as bonding on a spiritual level, but with the stress of being promoted to leader of the exorcists after his father's death, he's found himself doing things he never thought he'd do. It's not like you to turn away and it definitely isn't like him to walk away from something like this.
At the moment walking away is the last thing Abelâs going to do- especially when you're riding him this well. His hands grip your thighs as he whines out your name. You simply giggle, your arms loosely wrapped around his neck as you roll your hips just right to rip a choked moan from him. Fuck- he can't think straight. From your perspective, Abel was a mess under you. His face was bright red and pleading as he stared up at you, not daring to break eye contact. His cock felt heavenly buried deep in you, hitting spots that're making you see stars but you don't slow down.
Under you, Abel is only getting louder the closer he gets to finishing. Out of desperation his hips thrust up to meet you halfway, causing you to both moan out.
Without even thinking Abelâs body just moves, he sits up and flips you over to where you're now the one lying on your back and he's the one over you. The sound you let out when he pinned you made his cock throb.
âI'm sorry I just really want to make you feel goodâ He stammered out as he tried to catch his breath a little. His hands gently went under your thighs to lift your legs over his shoulders, he pressed down onto you in a mating press. By far his favorite position. Slowly he pushed back into your entrance, causing you both to whine. He doesn't move for a few moments, taking in how you're squeezing him, how you look like you need him in so many ways he can't even begin to imagine. Finally, he started to thrust into you. You moaned and whined under him, each noise pushing him closer and closer to the edge. Just knowing he's the one making you feel so good can make him come without even being touched- but with you under him on top of all those sweet noises makes that familiar feeling in the pit of his stomach start up. He's so close to coming it's unreal. His whines turn more into sobs and finally, he hears you speak up.
âAbel- please Iâm- Iâm so closeâ
Abel moved and pulled you into a deep kiss as he thrusted into you, coming deep inside of you. Abel finishing causes you to come too, you claw into his back as you finish. Parting from the kiss just enough to breathe, his cock still buried in you but neither of you dared to move. Abel opened his eyes to find you already staring.
âI love you.â You said with a soft smile, the high from your orgasm still washing over you. Abel smiled sweetly. âI love you tooâ He simply replied. Yeah, he was definitely addicted, and from what he could see you were just as addicted to him as he was to you.
Not beside you, and not openly, because that was impossible. The city above belonged to people who would scream first and ask questions later if they caught sight of seven feet of mutant turtle moving through the streets at night. That reality had never really changed, no matter how much your life had started revolving around the lair beneath it. So when you climbed out onto the surface near midnight with your jacket pulled tight against the cold, Leo stayed in the shadows instead, following from rooftops and alleyways above your line of sight.
You knew he was there anyway.
You couldnât always spot him directly, but every now and then movement flickered overhead, too large and controlled to be anyone else. Once, when you glanced toward the edge of a building, you caught the briefest flash of blue before it disappeared again. Another time you felt eyes on you just long enough to look up and see a silhouette crouched against the water tower above the street. He kept his distance carefully, but not enough that you ever really felt alone.
The city felt different this late at night.
Most of the crowds had thinned out hours ago, leaving the sidewalks quieter and the streets washed in pale yellow light from flickering lamps overhead. Steam curled up from sewer grates in soft waves, carrying the familiar smell of rain-soaked pavement and old concrete. The cold air bit at your face just enough to feel good after being underground so long, and for the first time in days, your shoulders started to loosen properly. You hadnât realized how tense youâd been until now.
A coffee cup appeared beside you about twenty minutes later.
You blinked at it first before looking up sharply, startled enough that your pulse jumped for half a second. Leo stood near the mouth of the alley beside the shop youâd stopped near, mostly hidden in shadow except for the faint outline of his mask and shoulders. He must have crossed while the street emptied, fast enough that no one noticed, because there wasnât another person nearby now. âYou forgot to actually buy one,â he said quietly, like appearing in front of you in the middle of Manhattan was somehow less ridiculous than the fact that heâd noticed you staring at the menu too long.
You stared at him for another second before taking the cup.
âYou risked exposure for coffee?â you asked, keeping your voice low automatically.
His mouth twitched slightly.
âYou looked cold.â
That shouldnât have hit as hard as it did.
You wrapped your hands around the cup slowly, the warmth bleeding immediately into your fingers through the cardboard sleeve. Leo stayed near the alley entrance instead of stepping fully into the light beside you, his attention constantly shifting between you and the surrounding street. Even now, even during something this small, he was tracking exits and movement and shadows without consciously thinking about it. But underneath all that awareness was something softer too.
Something quieter.
âYouâre staring again,â you said after a minute.
Leo looked away immediately.
âIâm literally not.â
âYou literally are.â
His jaw tightened slightly, and that alone almost made you laugh. A month ago he would have denied it more smoothly, redirected the conversation before you could pin him down this easily. Now, though, the reactions came faster than the control did, instinct surfacing before discipline could smooth over the edges. It made him easier to read in ways he clearly wasnât used to.
âYou keep disappearing into your own head,â he muttered finally, like that somehow justified it.
âSo your solution is rooftop surveillance?â
âThat sounds worse when you say it like that.â
âIt should.â
A faint sound somewhere above you interrupted the moment.
You glanced up just in time to catch movement crossing the fire escape overhead, fast and careless compared to Leoâs controlled silence. A second later Mikeyâs head appeared upside down over the edge of the building, hanging dangerously far over the side with absolutely no concern for gravity or self-preservation. âOkay, wow, this is painfully romantic,â he whispered loudly. âYou guys are one rainy backdrop away from a movie poster.â
Leo closed his eyes immediately.
âMikey.â
âWhat? I was curious.â
âYou were spying.â
âI prefer emotionally invested.â
You laughed before you could stop yourself, the sound echoing softly through the alleyway.
Leo reacted instantly.
Not visibly at first, but you saw the shift anyway, the way his shoulders loosened just slightly at the sound like some part of him settled automatically whenever you relaxed. It happened so quickly he probably didnât even realize he was doing it. Mikey noticed, though. His grin widened immediately.
âOh my god,â he said, quieter now but no less delighted. âYouâre gone. Like, completely gone.â
Leo rubbed a hand over his face with visible annoyance, though the reaction lacked any real heat behind it. âYou climbed across three rooftops in the middle of the night just to harass me?â he asked dryly. Mikey shrugged unapologetically, still hanging halfway upside down over the fire escape like gravity was optional. âNo,â he replied. âI climbed across three rooftops because I missed her and then realized watching you be emotionally constipated was a bonus.â
Another shadow moved above the alley a second later.
This one heavier.
Raph dropped down onto the fire escape with significantly less grace than Mikey, metal rattling loudly beneath his weight before settling again. He crouched there instead of climbing fully down, one arm resting against his knee while he looked between the two of you below. âTold you he was gonna get weird,â he muttered toward Mikey, though his attention stayed mostly on you. The second your eyes met his, some of the roughness in his posture eased automatically.
Leo looked genuinely offended by that.
âIâm not being weird,â he said immediately, which only made Mikey snort harder.
âYou bought her coffee and followed her around Manhattan like a giant blue gargoyle,â Mikey pointed out. âThatâs at least a little weird.â Leo opened his mouth to argue, then visibly reconsidered once he realized there was probably no winning that conversation. You took another sip of coffee to hide your smile, but it didnât work particularly well.
Donnie arrived last.
You didnât see him at first, only heard the faint metallic creak of another fire escape above the alley before his silhouette appeared against the dim glow of the city skyline. Unlike Mikey and Raph, he stayed higher up, leaning lightly against the railing while looking down at all of you below. âI leave all of you unattended for forty-five minutes and somehow this turns into a group outing,â he said dryly. âI genuinely donât understand how any of you survive patrols.â
Donnie sighed softly, though you could see the fondness underneath it now.
That was the thing that struck you most lately.
Not the instincts themselves.
Not the tension or the closeness or the way all four of them reacted to you now without thinking. It was the warmth underneath all of it, the way the fear and confusion from earlier chapters of your life together had slowly shifted into something softer and steadier. None of this was perfect. They still struggled with it, still got caught in moments where instinct pulled harder than thought, still looked at you sometimes like they were trying to reconcile want and restraint at the same time.
But they werenât afraid of it anymore.
And somehow, neither were you.
You looked up at them scattered across rooftops and fire escapes above you, hidden in shadows and moonlight where the rest of the world would never notice them. Mikey was still grinning openly, Raph still pretending he wasnât protective while watching every movement around you anyway, Donnie still trying to intellectualize feelings he clearly couldnât fully explain. Leo stayed closest to the alley entrance below, half in shadow, his attention shifting between you and the city like he still hadnât fully figured out how to stop doing that.
Your chest tightened unexpectedly at the sight of them.
Not painfully.
Just full.
âYou know,â you said softly, looking between all of them, âthis probably isnât how I pictured my life turning out.â
Mikey perked up immediately. âCâmon, really? Not even a little?â he asked dramatically. âBecause personally, I think we add a lot of charm.â Raph muttered something under his breath about him ruining the moment, but there wasnât much force behind it. Even Donnieâs mouth twitched slightly before he looked away again.
You smiled into the warmth of the coffee cup still between your hands.
âNo,â you admitted quietly. âBut I think I like this version better.â
The alley went still after that.
Not awkward.
Not tense.
Just quiet in a way that felt full instead of empty.
Leo looked at you for a long moment without speaking, and this time he didnât try to hide the softness in it. Raph relaxed visibly where he crouched above you, some last lingering edge easing from his shoulders. Mikeyâs grin softened into something gentler while Donnie looked down over the railing like he was trying very hard not to look affected by the statement and failing anyway.
The city breathed quietly around all of you.
Steam curled upward from the grates below, headlights glowed distantly somewhere further downtown, and cold night air drifted through the alley carrying the faint smell of rain and concrete. Hidden between shadows and rooftops where no one else could see them, the four of them looked less like monsters hiding from the world and more like exactly what they had slowly become to you over time.
Home.
And standing there beneath the glow of weak alley lights with warmth in your hands and laughter still lingering softly in the air around all of you, you realized something simple and startling all at once.
Maybe that was enough.
Maybe messy and strange and imperfect didnât mean broken.
Maybe love didnât always arrive in the shape people expected.
The thought settled quietly into your chest as you looked up at them one last time.
None of them looked away.
And for the first time since all of this began, no one seemed afraid of what that meant anymore.

⢠adam âŚ
- full of laughter -
Adam leans towards you with that usual cocky grin. It was wide, smug and so stupidly charismatic you kind of wanted to smack him and kiss him at the same time.
... he would be into that.
"Babe, you look at me any longer yer gonna burn holes into my face." He hums out, very aware of why you were staring at him. His hot looks, of course.
Rolling your eyes you reach out and flick his forehead, biting back the grin that threatened to spread when he cursed at you as he rubs his forehead with a glare.
"If only your dick was the size of your ego." You reply casually as you crawl closer to him on the couch.
"You're so fuckin' rude to me. Me. The man who loves your bitch ass." He grumbled out, hands immeditely finding their place on your hips the closer you got, amber eyes still narrowed at you pettily," be more grateful to the only person in the world who could love a face like yours, kay?"
You finally snorted in amusement, hands cupping each side of his face, his stubble scratching the skin of your palms," what are you talking about? I'm a fucking stud. I have multiple bad bitches lined up for when I break up with your clingy ass." You joke with a cheeky little grin.
Adam merely pouted at your words," man, fuck you." His hands squeeze your hips," the only way you're breaking up with me is when i die, by the way. You're fuckin stuck with me for eternity, babe. So your bad bitches will have to wait their turn, alright?"
A warm grin curled to your lips as your forehead presses to his, his words filing you with just pure adoration. Your lips gently brushed his," Ah, what a shame..." you hum lowly. Adam's patience seems to have waned because next thing you knew, your lips are molded together perfectly.
The moment your lips touch his, he makes a noise - half-laugh, half-choke, all dramatics - like you just caught him off guard despite the fact he leaned in first.
His hands slide around your waist with confidence and an extremely quiet ounce of care, fingers absentmindedly playing with the fabric of your shirt. Then they began to tap against the little patch of skin he manages to expose with his figeting. Didn't take you long before you realised he was tapping a song against your skin.
It's stupid. It's sweet. It's him.
You feel the smile against your mouth, that wide, shit-eating grin he always gets when he's enjoying something a little too much.
"What are you smiling like an idiot for?" you mutter against his lips before pulling back, hand brushing some of his brown hair from his face.
"Oh, you know," he says, voice dropping into something annoyingly soft for a guy who practically yells every word he speaks," just kissing my extremely sexy, extremely lucky partner - who, might I add, is definitely getting the better end of this whole arrangement."
A laugh escapes you, because of course he would say that.
"You're so dumb."
"Babe, I'm the first man. I'm literally historically significant."
You kiss him just to shut him up, but he merely makes a pleased hum like you just rewarded him for good behaviour.
⢠abel â§
- honeyed and lazy -
"You good?" You asked Abel, giving him a small grin.
He blinked those yellow eyes at you, they were half-lidded but you could see the deer-in-headlights look within them," Im-... Yeah, totally. Extremely good." He gave you a cute grin, showing off the gap in his teeth," like premium-level good. Why wouldn't I be good?"
You raise a brow," Abel, you're talking like you just drank six espressos."
"Maybe I did."
"Dude, you can't even handle one espresso."
He groaned and rubbed his face with both hands," okay yeah fine. Im just... not great at being suave, alright?" He gestured his hands around before resting his cute face in the palm of his hand," Dad didn't exactly give me 'romantic charm' lessons growing up."
Laughing softly, bumping your shoulder against his," Good. Sauve isnt really my type, anyways."
His posture relaxed as he smiled at you lazily, his hand moving to poke your cheek," yeah? Then what is your type?"
You didn't have to answer that, he could see it in the way you looked at him. No judgement. No expectations. Just there, grounding him.
It made his chest all warm and fuzzy.
You merely exageratedly give your boyfriend an up-down before raising your eyebrows with that cheeky grin. That was the perfect answer.
He couldnt stop the flush from dusting pink across his round cheeks. He swallowed, eyes flitting to your lips before crossing over your entire face quickly.
You tilt your chin slightly, and invitingly as you hum out a gentle," you're thinkin' too hard~..."
"I think exactly the right amount." He pouted before he leaned in, cupping your cheeks the way he always kissed - with the unsure, soft reverance of someone who hadn't yet realised he was allowed to have nice things.
His thumbs gently brush your skin, his hands warm. His lips press to your cheek slowly, lazily. Then he dragged his mouth to your forehead, then along your jaw in an unhurried sweep. A smile ghosts against your skin at the way you shivered.
"You're doing that on purpose," you accused lightly.
"Hmm," he pretends to contemplate before smiling cutely," yeah, I am."
He finally found your lips, it was the kind of kiss that felt warm and syrupy. Gentle but deep enough that your breathing caught. Honeyed, slow, and absolutely intoxicating, the kind that left the both of you blushing.
He pulled back an inch, just a little dazed," hey... thanks for letting me be like this."
"You mean sweet?" You teased.
He snorts," I meant hopeless," he corrected, cheeks turning from pink to red," but... yeah. Sweet too, I guess."
You kiss his lips again before bumping your nose against his, whispering your next words like it was some world-ending secret," That's my type~"
He nearly combusted.
⢠sir pentious đ
- coiling and yearning -
Pentious had always kissed you like he was rediscovering the concept each timeâlike every brush of his lips proved a theory heâd been working on for centuries. Even in his gleaming heaven form, that excitable brilliance of his remained, burning behind his eyes with every fluttering thought he never quite managed to keep inside.
You barely made it through the doorway of his workshop before he was on you. His gloves were still smudged with gold dust from whatever contraption heâd been building, and the second he saw you, his whole posture straightened with that endearing, overly-dramatic flare he never truly lost.
âAh! My dearest!â he exclaimed as if he hadnât seen you in years. âPerfect timing! Iâve just nearly perfected my- oh, come hereââ
He tugged you forward by the waist, almost forgetting what he meant to say the moment his lips touched yours. Pentious kissed like a man starved for affection and overfed on emotion: warm, eager, and absolutely incapable of pacing himself. His mouth molded against yours in a slow, enamored pull, but he kept making soft, delighted noises every few seconds, like he was cataloging every reaction you gave him.
One of his hands slid up your back, drawing you impossibly closer, while his tail, still long and expressive even with its new divine sheen, coiled around your ankle in a possessive, absent-minded loop. He never seemed aware he did that. It was simply instinct, the way he anchored himself to you.
âOh right uuuh,â he mumbled against your lips, as if the intensity was shocking him. âYou have no idea how - mm - how distracting you are! I was just about to finalize the recalibration of the luminary coils-â
You laughed quietly, which only encouraged him. He tilted your chin up, kissing you again, more purposeful this time, like he was sealing a promise. Pentious always kissed you like you were the first variable that had ever gone right in his life.
You kissed him back, steady and grounding, matching his enthusiasm with your own kind of gentle firmness, the one thing capable of keeping him from spiraling into ten simultaneous thoughts. He melted into it instantly. He always did. For all his dramatics, he responded best to someone patient, someone who understood his momentum without letting it fling him into orbit.
His tail tightened in excitement. âRight, right, the invention!â he blurted suddenly, pulling back only half an inch, his nose still brushing yours. âYou see, I-oh, youâre very distracting - hold on- just...just one more-â
He kissed you again before he even finished the sentence, hands cupping your jaw, his thumbs stroking your cheeks as if he was trying to memorize their texture through sheer devotion.
Eventually he forced himself to stop, chest heaving slightly, eyes bright behind his goggles. âI had a point, I swear I did.â
âYou were talking about your luminary coils,â you reminded gently.
âYESSS! Exactly!â he said, triumphant as if he hadnât just forgotten his entire train of thought because he liked the shape of your mouth too much.
⢠husk đą
- every kiss is a gamble -
Husk always kissed like every second might be his last. like he was betting his entire damn soul on the outcome.
Which, considering Hell, wasnât exactly a stretch.
You found him hunched over the bar after closing, wings drooped, tail flicking in that irritated-but-trying-not-to-show-it way he did whenever he missed you but refused to say it out loud.
âYâknow,â you drawled, leaning on the counter beside him, âif you glare any harder at that glass, itâs gonna evaporate.â
He snorted without looking up. âMaybe thatâd save me some money.â
âYou donât pay for drinks.â
âYeah. Exactly.â
You laughed, sliding into his space because you knew he wouldnât move away - he always pretended to be bothered, but his feathers puffed the second you got close. âRough day?â
âEvery dayâs rough. Iâm surrounded by moronic dipshits.â He paused, one ear flicking toward you, âPresent company excluded⌠mostly.â
You bumped your shoulder against his. âWooow, so sweet.â you cooed, fingers playing with the tufts of fur on his chest teasingly," do you have a crush on me or somethin'?"
âDonât fuckin' start.â He rolled his eyes.
You leaned even closer, letting your breath tickle his ear. âMissed me?â
Husk stiffened. Then grumbled. Then stiffened again.
âWhyâre you like this?â
âSuave charm. Canât help it.â
He shot you a sideways look - narrowed eyes, half-smirk tugging at his lip. âYou keep talkinâ like that, doll, and Iâm gonna-â
âWhat?â you teased, cheeky grin curling to your lips, âFold?"
He growled. Actually growled.
âHell no. I donât lose.â
And then he kissed you.
Fast. Decisive. Like youâd hit some hidden switch and he was done pretending he didnât want you right then and there.
His hands were on you immediately. One gripping your hip, the other curling around the back of your neck, dragging you in until your knees bumped the barstool heâd abandoned. Husk kissed like someone starved, desperate, impatient in that addictive way that made your stomach flip. His lips moved against yours with a messy kind of hunger, like he was trying to kiss every thought out of your head before you could fire off another sarcastic jab.
You laughed into his mouth, which only made him kiss harder.
âQuit distractinâ me,â he muttered between breaths, biting your bottom lip just sharp enough to make your pulse spark.
âYou started it.â
âAnd Iâll finish it.â
He kissed you again, slower this time, but deeper. Like once he got that first rush, he couldnât decide whether he wanted to devour you or savor you. His tail curled around your calf, tugging you even closer. His feathers brushed your cheek, trembling with the effort of looking cool while absolutely failing.
His tongue slid against yours and he let out a low, helpless grunt - one that made your entire body flush.
You smirked against his lips. âYouâre cute when you get all grabby.â
He pulled back just enough to glare, cheeks burning. âfuckin' cute? Seriously?â he sounded so unimpressed
âYouâre adorable.â
âShut up.â
He grabbed your chin and kissed you again, rougher. Every kiss was like spinning the wheel at a roulette table and whatever it landed on would be the way he kissed you.
You melted into him, hand sliding up to cup the side of his face. The moment your thumb brushed his cheekbone, he faltered. Just a little.
That tiny hesitation - soft, vulnerable, absolutely gone in a second - was your favorite part of him.
When you finally separated, both gasping, both flushed like youâd downed half a bottle of whatever heâd been drinking, Husk kept his forehead pressed to yours.
âYouâre trouble,â he muttered.
âAnd you love me.â
He huffed, wings ruffling.
ââŚYeah. Yeah, I do.â
âWanna kiss me again?â you asked innocently.
His blush deepened. âDoll... darlinâ - if you donât stop, Iâm gonna carry you to the back and-â
You grinned. âSo thatâs a yes.â
He pulled you in again. That's the only answer you needed.
Abel x reader headcanon (who has a crush on you)đâ¨đ¤
A/n: heâs sooooo cuuuute đ¤đ¤đâ¨
â ď¸warningâ ď¸: cutnesseeee maybeâ¨â¨â¨
You donât realize it right away, but Abel⌠does.
Itâs subtle at first. A glance that lingers a little longer than usual, a sentence he repeats awkwardly because he tripped over his words. He talks to you like he talks to everyone, but his tone is a bit softer, a bit more hesitant
And when you smile at him? He blushes. Always. He looks away, clearing his throat before muttering something like
"Uh. Right. Anyway. I was saying⌠um⌠I forgot"
Abel isnât much of a charmer like his father. Oh, he tries⌠but letâs say it often turns into a comedy
One day, he brings you a coffee he made himself he wanted to impress you except he forgets the sugar, the milk, and even⌠the cup. He shows up holding the thermos, looking proud, before realizing he has nothing to serve it in
"âŚWell, itâs the thought that counts, right?"
And when you laugh, he looks at you as if your laughter were worth a thousand miracles
Abel doesnât use big words or rehearsed lines. Heâs sincere, sometimes awkwardly honest
He gives you strange but touching compliments
"Your eyes are⌠uh⌠pretty. But not like, clichÊ pretty. More like⌠pretty the way the sky looks right before it rains"
He surprises himself with what he says, then gets tangled up:
"âŚThat doesnât even make sense, huh? Forget it"
And you, of course, understand exactly what he means.
He straightens up a bit, tries to look calm, but his hands betray him. He plays with his sleeve, his fingers tapping nervously against his leg.
He doesnât know whether to talk to you or just watch you. So he does both he talks, but he listens too. Really listens. Every word, every tone everything you say seems to matter to him.
Abel shows his affection in small ways
He holds the door for you without saying a word, he always leaves you the last cookie, he lends you his coat even when heâs shivering behind you
And when he finally dares to touch you just a light brush he blushes like a teenager and turns his head away
"Itâs just so you donât get cold, okay? Nothing more"
(Spoiler: itâs always more.)
And the day he realized he loved you was a quiet evening, after a long day. You were laughing, tired but happy, and he watched you without saying anything
His heart beat faster. He knew he was doomed.
And in a whisper, almost to himself
"âŚIâve really fallen in love, huh"
Then he panicked, cleared his throat, and changed the subject right away
Can we get a doctor phosphorus X reader where the reader has power similar to Deadpool. Example of unable to die and sometimes has ability to pull things out of thin air for comedic effect
You were a curious case to most, from your inability to die, to your unique ability to seemingly pull things that people needed out of thin air as though by pure coincidence. When asked about how you did what you did, you merely shrugged your shoulders - you sipped a drink you plucked out of thin air through a silly straw- and replied with something that only left the rest of the monsters even more confused;
âPlot convenience and comedic effect for the audience reading this fanfic that author took far too long to actually get to writing.â
Many left you alone after that, deducing you a tad mentally unstable, all but Dr Phosphorus who also thrived off of the chaos and unpredictable nature that you brought to every situation you found yourself in. He found comradery in you and your ability to piss of basically everyone by getting under their skin, even him at times but he knows when to laugh with you as while everything that came from your mouth might sound insulting, thatâs just how you came across and it only takes someone with a likemindedness to understand when you were being genuine or not.
Dr Phosphorus remembered the first time you interacted with one another when you scared him by accident, making him grab your shoulder with his exposed radiated hand, thinking youâll die a violent death but imagine his surprise when you only shrug his hand off to reveal a healing shoulder where his hand once was. âIs it hot in here or is it just you? Oh who am I kidding it is you because of yourâŚyeah.â You said as you gestured to all of him and while he couldnât smile since he was a literal skeleton, he couldnât help but chuckle at your words now that the initial scare was over.
âOh youâre the wise ass who thought itâd be funny to scare the irradiated Skelton?â Dr phosphorus says as he crosses his arms over his chest, tilting his head as he took you in and the burnt cloth at your shoulder from his touch, your skin however -now fully healed at this point- looked untouched as though he wasnât close enough to even hurt you. âWho are you newbie, I would think that I would remember a person like you.â He adds with an almost flirtatious purr.
You smiled as you offered out your hand. âOf course you wouldnât as I was hauled off here just this morning, but for the sake of keeping this fanfic a reasonable length as to prevent the possibility of stretching the readers attention span too thin, I killed a bunch of bad guys and lost a couple of limbs in the process.â You said as though it wasnât as big of a deal as it would be to others, âpeople were screaming, I was screaming. and here I am being called a freak, monster and whatever even by people who should probably look in the mirror before saying shit. Itâs like the pot calling the kettle black.â You finished.
Dr phosphorus looked at you then back down at your hand before looking back at you once more, amused. âIâd take your hand sweetheart, but I donât want to hurt youâŚagain.â
âOh then take these gloves.â You said.
âWhat gloves-â
âThese silly!â You exclaimed as you shoved a pair of irradiation proof gloves against dr phosphorusâs chest.
âHow did you-â dr phosphorus tried to ask, only to then decide that logic wasnât all that important to you when you seemingly worked outside of logic as a person, logic and sound decisions didnât exist within you, and it shows in the most subtlest ways that one wouldnât notice unless they were paying attention as to how you seemingly controlled an unforeseen narrative to your very will.
âHow did I what?â You asked.
âPull shit out of thin air.â Dr phosphorus replied as he slides the gloves over his hands.
âPlot convenience and comedic effect for the them.â You then pointed towards a part of the room, almost as though gesturing to an audience , only for there to be no one there at all but cold walls. You two were the only ones in the room and dr phosphorus thought he was the only mentally unstable one in this facility. âWho are we looking at sweets?â Dr phosphorus says as he tried to see what you were seeing, but all he could see was the cold walls that he was far too familiar with then the outside of the very structure he was trapped within, which sounded sad but to his knowledge no sane mind would blink twice at the mistreatment of a monster.
âThe audience reading this very fan fic.â You informed him with a smile before seeing that he had put on the gloves and boldly grabbed his hand, making the skeleton jolt as he then relaxed when remembering he did put on the gloves. âBut never mind them, itâs good to meet you dr phosphorus.â You add as though knowing his name without him telling you was all apart of your character and dr phosphorus had to say that he was liking you more and more you spoke.
âI donât think I disclosed that to you sweetheart, but itâs good to meet you too.â He chuckled and in that moment he knew that your relationship was going to be unlike any other. And he was right.
There would be times where all of you were gathered in the cafeteria, where one of the monsters nudged past you rather rudely while sneering at you. You were use to this as technically while you had abilities that went beyond human comprehension, you were still the closest thing to being a human in comparison to those who had physical appearance that screamed monster.
âWatch where youâre going human.â Theyâd spit at you venomously.
You only smiled back at them while Dr Phosphorus looked between the two of you from the sidelines along with everyone else. âSomeone whoâs going to get bitchslapped by a fish says what.â
The bat like creature scrunched up their face. âWhat-â before they could finish their sentence, they were then smacked across the face with a fish rather violently as they were sent to the floor. They hold a hand to their cheek, clearly unaware of what had just happened along with the rest of the room, before looking at your hand that was once empty now was grasping the tail a dead fish the length of your arm; which explained the disgusting smell that soon hit their senses a second after they realised that they were hit in the face with a dead fish.
âWhere did you get that thing?!â Theyâd spit exclaimed but you shrugged.
âThatâs on a need to know basis.â You replied as you shoved the fish into the hands of a gargoyle like being as you took your place next to dr phosphorus, who had been trying to hold back his laughter but couldnât when you were close enough if g for him to ask. âA fish? Thatâs what you come up with when insulated?!â He wheezed. You shrugged âthought you would like the image of someone getting slapped with a fish and so I went with it.â You explained as though it was something that happened on a daily basis for you.
âWell it was definitely a sight to behold for not just me sweetheart.â Dr phosphorus tells you as you both carried on with your day, all the while everyone else could only watch as the irradiated skeleton and you continue your conversation before being joined by weasel who had the fish firmly liked in his jaw.
I'm gonna come in anonymously eith a bayverse request and ask if maybe you'd be willing to do something where April has this very dorky, emotional, and sweet friend that doesn't know about the turtles. And one day she's supposed to be gone for the night on a date, so the guy's come to hang out and just as Donnie goes to throw his shoes by the door he runs chest to nose with her? Turns out her date was awful, she's giving up on dating, being dramatic about going into a convent. And now there's these guys in her's and April's apartment, and oh god the Purple one is cute, and they have matching glasses- maybe she won't give up entirely!
If this isn't up your ally that's fine! I've really been enjoying your stuff though!
A/N: Ohmigosh, this is such a cute request! đ
I set this roughly between the first and second movies, since the turtlesâ existence is common knowledge to the public by the time Out of the Shadows is over. Enjoy! đ
Shell Shocked and Smitten (fluff)
đ Bayverse Donatello/Female Reader đ
CWs: Bad date aftermath, mild angst, fluff, brief emotional upset, some swearing, unexpected guests, dorks with crushes who flirt, light brotherly teasing. All characters are aged-up.
You trudge up the stairs to your shared apartment.
Your date had been, to put it mildly, a dumpster fire. Chad (of course his name is Chad!) spent an hour talking about his cutting-edge crypto portfolio, then his CrossFit routine. And finally, when the bill arrived, heâd patted his pockets with performative dismay, claiming he forgot his wallet. So you were stuck paying an amount you couldnât afford.
And on top of it all, you lost one of your contacts in the taxi on the way home. Thankfully, you had your glasses in your purse. But your eyes had watered. And the cheap drugstore mascaraâthe one you bought on a whim because the packaging was sparklyâis definitely running.
You arrive at the door and fish your keys out from your coat pocket. âNever again,â you say out loud, fumbling with the stubborn lock. âThatâs it. Iâm done. Iâm officially retiring from the dating scene. Maybe Iâll join a convent. Do they still have those?â
You finally win your fight with the door, shoving it open with more force than necessary, the strap of your purse digging into your shoulder. Youâre already picturing yourself face-planting onto the couch and eating ice cream as you walk partially through the entryway and further into the apartment. âApril, youâre not gonna BELIEVE the total unmitigated disaster that wasââ
You donât even get the full sentence out.
Because your dramatic pronouncement is cut short when you barrel right into a solid wall of ⌠something. Your nose is pressed against a hard, subtly ridged surface. You tilt your head back, and your gaze travels up, up, up to a face thatâs, well ⌠green. And reptilian.
Heâs currently looking down at you with wide, intelligent hazel eyes behind a pair of very familiar-looking glasses. In his hands, he has what one can only describe as an enormous pair of custom shoes. Looking like he was just going to toss them by the door, you realize dimly, like any normal person. Except he isnât just any normal person.
âW-what âŚ? Who âŚ?â you stammer as you take a step backward, staring at the shoes before your gaze snaps back up to the towering green man in front of you.
His massive, three-fingered hand is still outstretched, holding the shoes. Heâs wearing, well, not much. Aside from a purple bandanna tied around his head and pants with suspenders over his broad back. Wait, you think, squinting at himâbefore realizing that isnât his back so much as it is a shell.
âUh,â he says, hesitant, seeming just as startled by your sudden appearance as you are by his.
It takes a moment to click once you, again, look at the glasses perched on his snout. His reptilian snout. Your brain, already overloaded from your terrible date night, attempts to reboot before it short-circuits. Giant. Green. Person. A turtle? In your apartment. Holding shoes.
Your thoughts grind to a halt after stuttering, unable to process what the hell youâre seeing.
âYouâre home early,â April says, appearing from the living room, a nervous smile plastered on her face.
Purple Bandanna looks like a deer caught in headlights. Behind him and April, you register other large, green men. Each of them are wearing different colored bandannas. The one in red, arms crossed, is radiating âare you kidding me?â energy. Orange is practically vibrating with suppressed laughter, while the one in blue sighs and shakes his head.
âEarly?â you echo, your voice a squeak. Your gaze flits from Aprilâs strained smile to the towering, purple-clad turtle, then to the other three equally impossible beings. âApril, there are giant, sentient turtles in our living room!â
The one in orange finally loses his battle and bursts into a snorting laugh, which is quickly stifled by an elbow from the blue one. The red one rolls his eyes so hard youâre surprised they donât get stuck.
âAnd if you must know,â you continue, the sheer weirdness of the situation temporarily bulldozed by your need to vent, âIâm home because my date was a catastrophic failure of epic proportions. He mansplained the blockchain to me. The blockchain, April. What the hell is a blockchain, anyway?!â You gesture wildly with one hand, knowing you look like a crazy raccoon whoâs lost a bar fight.
Purple guy blinks. The blue one takes a hesitant step forward. The red one actually snorts.
âA convent, huh?â Red says, a smirk playing on his lips. âDramatic much?â
You realize he heard you talking to yourself outside the apartment, and you blush in embarrassment. âItâs a valid life choice!â you retort, though your voice breaks a little. Then, the full weight of the situation crashes back down. âWait a minute. Who are you guys? And why do you look like ⌠very large anthropomorphic turtles?â
The purple one pushes his glasses up his nose. Again, you notice how his frames match yours. âItâs a ⌠rather convoluted narrative,â he says, his voice still calm, though he shifts his weight again. âWeâre friends of April. She lets us hang out here sometimes when ⌠well, when youâre out.â
âFriends she has never, ever, not once in the history of our friendship, mentioned,â you counter, narrowing your mascara-smudged eyes at April, who winces and mumbles a âsorry.â
Your gaze, however, canât help but drift back to the purple-clad turtle. Again, he pushes his glasses further up his nose. Thereâs a faint flush of a darker green spreading under his skin that you suspect might be the reptilian equivalent of a blush. Itâs unexpectedly endearing.
Maybe itâs the way his intelligent hazel eyes, magnified slightly by the lenses, look apologetic and gentle. Or perhaps itâs the novelty of someone so otherworldly looking at you with an expression that isnât pity, or worse, the glazed-over boredom Chad had projected. He also seems genuinely concerned about your disastrous date, even though youâve just barged in on whatever secret turtle-hangout was happening.
âWell,â you say, your voice a little shaky but losing some of its earlier despairing edge. âThis is certainly a development. April is friends with tall, apparently very polite turtles who have excellent taste in eyewear.â You glance pointedly at Purpleâs glasses, then touch your own.
Youâve always had a ridiculous soft spot for guys in glasses. Itâs your kryptonite, second only to a well-curated bookshelf.
A smile quirks the corner of his mouth. âDonatello,â he offers, finally lowering the hand still holding his footwear. âBut, uh, Donnie is fine.â
âDonnie,â you repeat, testing the name. It suits him. The blush on his cheeks seems to deepen a fraction.
âLook, I was going to tell you,â April says truthfully. âEventually. Itâs just ⌠a lot.â
âUnderstatement of the year, April,â you mutter, but your eyes are drawn back to Donnie. Heâs set his shoes down now, his posture a little less like a startled woodland creature and more relaxed. He steals another glimpse of you, and thereâs a definite spark of interest there in his gaze.
A tiny thrill zips through you. Dating humans hasnât exactly panned out. Itâs been a veritable parade of Chads, Brendans, and a Kevin who thought taxidermy was an appropriate first-date conversation topic. But perhaps the universe has always had other options for you in mind.
âSo,â you say, taking a deep breath and trying to gather the scattered remnants of your composure. âDonnie. And, uh âŚâ You gesture vaguely at the other three, who are watching with varying degrees of amusement and exasperation.
âLeonardo, but Leoâs good,â Blue says with a polite nod.
âRaphael. Raph,â the red one grunts, still leaning against the doorframe, though his arms are no longer crossed.
âAnd Iâm Michelangelo! Mikey for short!â Orange says. âWeâre brothers, by the way.â
âRight,â you say. âLeo, Raph, Mikey. And Donnie.â You look at Donnie again, and he offers another one of those small, shy smiles that does strange things to your insides.
âSo, about that blockchain,â Donnie begins, then seems to catch himself, a flicker of self-consciousness in his eyes. âI mean, if youâre still curious. Itâs essentially a decentralized, distributed ledger, which can be quite fascinating from a cryptographic and data structure perspective, though I can see how it might not be an optimal first-date conversation.â
You canât help it; a laugh escapes you. A real one, not the polite, strained kind you fake with most of your dates. âYou know, thatâs actually the most sense anyoneâs made of it all night.â
Donnieâs blush deepens again, and this time, thereâs definitely a pleased glint in his eyes. April lets out a sigh that sounds suspiciously like relief. Even Raph cracks a tiny, almost imperceptible smile.
âSo,â you say, feeling a bit more like yourself now, âdo you guys hang out here often?â
âWe try not to impose,â Leo replies. âBut Aprilâs hospitality is generous.â
âGenerous enough to harbor four secret turtles,â you muse, then look at April. âYouâve been holding out on me.â
She throws her hands up in mock surrender. âWhat can I say? Theyâre good company. Mostly.â She shoots a pointed look at Raph, who just shrugs.
Donnie clears his throat, drawing your attention back to him. Heâs fidgeting with the strap of some kind of tech-y satchel you hadnât noticed before, slung across his shell. âActually,â he says, âwe were just about to order pizza. If ⌠if youâre not too traumatized by your recent culinary experience to partake?â
Pizza. The universal comfort food. The thought of sharing it with Donnie and his equally extraordinary brothers suddenly sounds infinitely more appealing than a solitary tub of ice cream and a vow of celibacy.
âTraumatized? Donnie, I think tonight significantly recalibrated my trauma threshold.â You shoot him a smile. âAnd pizza sounds amazing. Especially if its intricacies are not explained via a PowerPoint on its market liquidity.â You still canât believe one of your dates actually brought a laptop with him to show you a damn PowerPoint, of all things.
Sometimes, you still think romance is dead.
Donnie laughs, a full, rumbling sound that vibrates pleasantly in the entryway. âNo PowerPoints, I promise. Though I do have some interesting data on optimal cheese-to-sauce ratios, if youâre interested.â
âSave it for the second date, Don,â Raph calls out, earning a frown from Donnie and a snicker from Mikey.
Your cheeks flush again. Itâs a pleasant sensation this time, a far cry from the humiliated heat brought on by Chadâs cheapness or your own dramatic pronouncements outside the door. âI think I could handle some data on cheese-to-sauce ratios,â you say, your voice a little breathless.
Mikey whoops. âAlright! Pizza party! I call dibs on the first slice with extra pepperoni!â
April, looking significantly less stressed now that the initial shock has worn off, claps her hands together. âOkay, then! Pizza it is. My treat. Consider it an apology for the delayed introductions. And for all the Chads.â
You laugh, feeling the last of the eveningâs tension drain away, which is replaced by an almost giddy sense of excitement. Giving up on dating? You must have gone temporarily insane. Again, you look at Donnie.
No way youâre giving up now.
Especially if it involves matching glasses and a brilliant, kind-eyed turtle.
Taste Test - Rafael Barba Imagine [Law & Order: SVU]
Title: Taste Test
Pairing: Rafael Barba X Reader
Word Count: 1,075 words
Warning(s): none that I'm aware of
Summary: The SVU detectives go to visit their favorite ADA at his office. They end up finding out more about him than they ever planned to.
Author's Note: I needed something fast and cute to give me a break from some of the longer stories that I'm working on (there is a doctor who oc story and a grimm story in the works right now). I'm also on the tail end of my master's program, so it's all a little bit hectic right now.
---------------------------
I rarely ever had the time to visit Rafael at his office.
Even without considering his frantic and busy work schedule, mine simply never allowed it. I owned the bakery that my dad had opened years ago. I took over after his retirement and I hadn't stopped moving at top speed since. It was always looking at the menu or staffing or some crisis that needed to be fixed right then and there.
But sometimes, just sometimes, I would have a day where I had enough people and a slow enough flow of customers that I could pack a little bag of treats and a few drinks and go see him at lunch.
Today was one of those very lucky days.
Rafael's office door was slightly open when I got there. I knocked on it lightly, pushing it just enough to peak my head through.
"Hello- (Y/n)." he stood up as soon as he saw me. "What are you doing here?"
"Slow day," I replied with a shrug. "Thought that I could tempt you into a break with some food and coffee."
"If there's a day that I say no to that, assume that someone has replaced me with a clone."
"Noted," I chuckled, placing the bag and the drink carrier on the round table in the corner. I handed him one cup. "Here, try this. It's a potential drink for the summer menu."
"Alright." he took a small sip of the drink. He nodded. "It's good. What is it?"
"It's basically a latte but made with rose milk and rose foam."
"How... How do you make rose milk?"
"Shh, don't ask questions," I said as I sat down in one of the table's chairs. Rafael chuckled as he sat next to me. "Do you really like it?"
"It's great," he promised.
"Good," I mumbled. "I was a bit worried about it."
"You have reason to be." Rafael grabbed my hand over the table. "You are a genius when it comes to making up drinks."
"I hope you feel the same way about my ability to make up food," I replied, reaching into the bag that I had brought with me. I put down a napkin and plopped a muffin on the top.
"Oh, absolutely," he let go of my hand to pick up the muffin. I chuckled as he did. He took a bite and hummed. "This is a winner."
"Glad to hear." I leaned over and swiped some crumbs off of his chin with my thumb. "But you do praise all of my food."
He hummed again as he took another bite, nodding before he was able to speak, "Because all of your food is amazing."
I grabbed my drink, taking a sip before changing the subject, "How has your day been? Anything important happening?"
"Not yet-"
"Barba-"
We both looked to the door as a group of people walked in. There were three of them; two women and a man.
"Perfect timing," Rafael mumbled to me. I would have chuckled if I hadn't been so caught off guard.
"Hello," one of the women said.
"Hi," I replied, standing up as I did.
The woman looked at Rafael. "I didn't know that you had a meeting."
"It's... It's not a meeting," I explained quickly. I always spoke quickly when I was nervous and having three people suddenly walk into the room with no warning made me very nervous. "I was just stopping by for lunch."
"Detectives," Rafael stood up behind me, touching my back. "This is (Y/n). My partner. (Y/n), these are some of the detectives from the S.V.U. Olivia Benson, Amanda Rollins, and Sonny Carisi."
"Nice to meet you all."
"You too," Olivia nodded at me. "I hope he hasn't been hiding you from us."
I chuckled. "No, no, not at all. I- I own a little bakery and cafe place not too far from here. I tend to be pretty swamped, but I had some downtime, so I stopped by for lunch."
"I thought that I recognized you!" Sonny pointed at me. "I've been by your shop."
"Oh, good, hope you liked it."
"Oh, loved it," he said. He turned to the other detectives. "There was this awesome sandwich thing on the menu during the fall. I've been craving it for months."
"I'll make note of that, so I remember to bring it back this year," I promised. "In the meantime, I'd be happy to treat you all to some food and drinks. I'm starting to sort out the summer menu; you should all come over sometime and test out some of the ideas I have."
"You don't have to-"
"I want to," I stopped Olivia in her tracks. "You guys work with Rafael so much that we might as well be friends. Plus, I need some other guinea pigs than just him. I'm sure Rafael would be more than happy to sort out a night for you and anyone else on your team to join us."
He looked over at me, pausing before he replied, "Over the moon."
"See?"
"Alright then," Olivia nodded. I glanced over to see Sonny trying to subtly celebrate the good news.
"I should get out of the way," I touched Rafael's shoulder as I spoke before going to grab my drink. "I'm sure whatever you all need to talk about is more important than my seasonal menu."
"I'll walk you out." Rafael guided me to the door.
We walked together to the point where we were just out of view of the windows in his office. I turned around and placed a quick kiss on his lips.
"I'll see you tonight," he muttered.
"Can't wait," I mumbled back. "Don't forget about the little tasting event that we're hosting."
"I won't," he promised, leaning over to kiss me again. He added a second kiss to my temple. "I love you."
"Love you too," I said before pulling away properly.
My phone started ringing as soon as I started walking out.
"I'm already on my way back," I answered before any question could be asked.
"Thank God." I heard from the other end. "Someone is promising to come back and have a stern talk to you."
"Great, sounds fun. I'll be there in a few minutes."
I let out a huff as I hung up and started jogging down the street.
Sometimes these short lunch dates were the only thing keeping me from running for the hills.
---------------------------
Author's Note: The drink I described is actually an actual drink at local coffee shop in my area! I am not clever enough to make it up myself.
