This is getting out of hand

Oc storytime below bcs I needed an excuse to talk about him vvv

Camber, lower middle class mech with a helicopter alt. He used to do a lot of freelance work in videography and photography, plus a few other gigs, and part of that was capturing footage and selling it. He avoided inflammatory material and commentary whenever possible (because that’s a quick way to lose half your clientele), but eventually he was approached about a public announcement-type project funded by the Senate promoting unity and duty.

It was an open secret that tossing in with politicians was a dangerous way to take your career, especially with all the unrest happening. It was an even worse secret that the work of anyone who affiliated with the Senate lost all individuality and opinion. Camber took pride in what he did! Clients looked to him for his candid material, not the mass-produced slag the senate pumped out! So he politely declined and went along his way.

Except… suddenly there weren’t quite as many clients anymore. News outlets went to different sources. Racing events refused to hire him. Even his side career as a background actor slowed to barely a trickle.

So he got desperate. He took jobs he otherwise would have refused. He looked the other way and lines got blurry very, very fast. He worked longer and harder, recharged less and rationed his energon with the hope that he’d be out of the slump soon. He pushed himself until one day he was surveying a sketchy construction site marked for demolition, running on fumes, and he made a mistake and crashed.

The medic told him that his rotors were beyond repair and he was summarily kicked out onto the street, bereft of connections, his job, and all but the ability to limp.

Yup it’s Camber again. This time pre-crash, so he still has all of his original limbs! Good for him!

Anyway this is my babygirl Camber, a Transformers oc. He used to work as a freelance photographer/videographer/c-list actor/news footage provider in Iacon and transformed into a MD 500 helicopter (or the Cybertronian equivalent) before a bad crash crippled him, so he started up a paint and detailing shop until the start of the war. He joined the Decepticons, and after it was clear he couldn’t fight he was used as a test subject for early combiner and gestalt experiments.

The war is actually the boring part of his life (as he spends most of it essentially rabid) so if I keep posting about him it’ll be about his life in Iacon. He doesn’t usually look like this I promise.

Haven't drawn anything in like 2 months lmao, got inspired by comic black cell shading and wanted to do something with more contrast, so this was pretty fun experiment! Also, THANK YOU FOR 130 FOLLOWERS!!! I was pretty shocked my account had grown that large since I've last been online, so thank you all for the support.

I figure that hardlining is the equivalent of making out sloppy. It’s not like, a horrible thing to do in public, and it’s perfectly justifiable if you’re resolving an emergency, but you don’t just go up to a stranger and mack on them for no reason.

You mentioned writing a fic, is that still happening?

Still happening as in still in my docs? Yea. Still happening as in I’m actively writing it with a plan? … no…

There’s just a lot of stuff in it. I’ve been idly writing scenes as they come to me but I need to make an outline so I can narrow down what I actually need to write (mostly exposition, sadly). So yeah. It’s there, I work on it sometimes when I feel like it, but I have a bad habit of abandoning things as soon as I post them. Plus the first chapter isn’t even fully fleshed out so I don’t have anything I could post chronologically.
