this was so fun princess jellyfish means a lot to me and probably subconsciously influenced me for a long time haha so its nice to finally draw it out! They really do fit tsukimi and kuranosuke so well, but like if they were both trans and gnc. Yes these two are both boys, please don’t misgender them.

While there is PLENTY of room to critique Princess Jellyfish, I really do adore the way it explores gender. The way that many of the characters, regardless of the bodies they were born into, display nuanced experiences with femininity and womanhood has always struck a chord with me. It underscores that acceptable 'womanhood' is mutable and entirely dependent on how 'properly' you perform it. It shows us a spectrum of people. Some that rejected upholding womanhood by transgressing it (by the texts' standards). As well as someone who, to those in the story, does not have ANY stake in womanhood, performing it to a T and still reaping the 'benefits'.
