Bronwyn’s Guide to Home Protection - Know Your Home
As a witch, the most useful and influential magical practice to learn is how to protect yourself and your home. If you can’t keep malevolence or stagnant energy out, then bringing good things in won’t be as effective. Banishments and cleansings are useful, but shields are great preventative measures that require less time, energy, and stress. The number one thing I always recommend to new witches is to learn bout protection magic first. In this series, I’ll be offering my tips, tricks, and several spells and rituals that I have found to be incredibly effective. This system may not work for everyone, but it does work for me. It’s taken me a while to find something that fits my needs, and it may be the same for you. Do what you feel is right!
Know Your Home
In order to develop a good system for your home, you need to know what your weaknesses–and strengths–are. Whether you live in an apartment, trailer, suburban home, or tiny house, knowing your domain is crucial. Here are my steps for doing this (most important info is bolded):
Draw your home from a bird’s eye view. Don’t worry about the furniture, but make sure you get all doors, windows, garages, and rooms on the paper. If you have multiple floors or a basement, pencil in the staircase(s) and use a separate sheet of paper for each level. Label each sheet of paper clearly. You may want to make at least one new copy of each sheet for ease of reading and use.
Create a key with the following symbols/meanings (you can definitely switch up the symbols): high energy (draw a sun), medium energy (draw a crescent moon), and low energy (draw a star). Each room, hallway, and area will be labelled with the energy input and energy output. You can use two colours to draw the symbols in, such as green for input and red for output to avoid having to label them individually. [If you are having an issue with a room or area in your home that seems to leech energy from you, you may want to evaluate the cause]
Label each room and area using your key. How much energy do you and the rest of your household put into your kitchen? If you are constantly in it, I’d say a high amount of energy. How much leaves it? Do you feel any energy emanating from the kitchen? For me, the answer is not very much. So, I would draw a green sun and a red star in the kitchen.
Locate the doorways of your home, including the windows. These areas should be treated as gateways, especially if you often leave them open for the light/air/etc. Outline or fill them in with a bold colour.
Set this map aside and get a fresh copy of each sheet. Locate any energy-producing machinery or objects and pencil them in. Things such as routers, furnaces, ovens, washing machines/dryers, generators, etc. are all great things to draw in. These objects can be harnessed as energy providers for enchantments.
Outline rooms that you see as energetic weak spots and those you see as strong spots; the rest of the rooms can be left alone. This is to help you find out where the big enchantments/etc. should be energized at, and where you should definitely find an energy solution for (I will explain how in another guide).
Think of yourself as a robber or an entity trying to get into your home. Where would you go? Does one window feel particularly vulnerable? Do you believe that the chimney should be noted as a point of entry? On the map you made with the windows/doors defined, label areas you would like to reinforce.
After you’ve completed this, you can continue on to plan your system (next guide is coming soon). I recommend keeping your maps somewhere safe, perhaps in a black folder or in a shoe box.You could also do this digitally if you prefer. If at any time you feel the need to add or change something, you can. Just remember to update your plan as well, if you have one already.
That’s all for today, but I will be posting another guide soon! Let me know if you are wondering about anything in particular or need clarification. See y’all soon!
Willow’s Beginner’s Guide to Witchcraft: Where to Begin?
Hello my dears, especially all of you young new enthusiastic witches who are curious about the world of witchcraft and the use of mysticism in your life. Witchcraft is very rewarding and is practiced worldwide for a variety of reasons. I, too, was once a curious and honestly confused young witch trying to figure out where to start and how I should begin my journey. This is why I am creating this new series of guides for all of you who have found yourselves in that boat. I truly hope that these will help you greatly!
With these guides, I will be posting all sorts of information for you including vocabulary, links, resources, correspondences, exercises to practice, examples and even in some cases “homework” for you to give a try. So feel free to take notes or save these posts to your blogs for easy access. Feel free to message me or send me asks as well if you have any questions on the topics I cover. Also, to show your appreciation for these free lessons you can buy me a coffee at my Ko-fi Page as a tip, but this is not required at all.
What is a witch?
Let’s start with something simple but important for all beginners to understand. What actually is a witch? A witch is an individual who uses magick, pretty simple. They do NOT have to be female or born “into it” or Wiccan. A witch is a person who uses and practices witchcraft and Magick.
What is magick?
Magick is making an effort through energy of oneself or other types of energies to change aspects of one’s life. These changes can vary depending on the type of spells, rituals and practices you are using. The reason a “k” is used at the end of magick is simply to separate it from the word magic which is often associated with illusions and parlor tricks. Though some do still call it “magic” so it is really out of preference.

personal understanding of the signs
aries: little bitch who's always pissed off
taurus: can go from big cuddly teddy bear to el fuckass within minutes
gemini: the absolute worst and best at the same time. the funniest, make sure to love them
cancer: they are a big ball of confidence until u make one (1) relatively negative comment about em, then it's all tears and drama
leo: really outgoing and sweet. playful cuddlers, but probably has a secret evil side
virgo: the most sophisticated of the signs. despite this, they REALLY know how to party
libra: suspicious. very unpredictable and spontaneous, you never know what they're up to
scorpio: ice. fucking. cold. they're really fun when you're on good terms with them, but get on their bad side and they will ruin you.. tbh they're the baddest bitches out there
sagittarius: really chill. can easily be anyone's best friend. can throw a kickass party when the time comes
capricorn: they're uh.. strange, to say the least. they got some odd characteristics and even weirder secrets. but overall, really funny people
aquarius: the softest. really sweet, everyone loves them. i can barely believe it when i hear that an aquarius did something wrong.
pisces: they're almost as two-faced as geminis, but i think that's pretty useful. for the most part, they're fun to be around
