Random Thoughts

Just gonna get my thoughts on AI art out, because I've been thinking about it, most specifically saying digital artist are the same with AI artist, and I do not agree, because creating AI art is basically commissioning someone. The difference between digital artist and AI artist is that digital artist use a program where they are in control of how the image is drawn (from it's sketch to the final product), while AI artist use a program that generates an image. While you can say AI artist technically are in control of how the image is made, that is just arguing technicalities; The whole point is the process and how the image is made. AI artist are basically getting something from a vending machine of products from other art mashed together, while digital artist are the ones making the product itself.

I'll never like AI art, because it's cheap to me. I like looking at art and thinking what techniques the artist used. People will like it, because of its end product. People don't care about the process. People will use it to spite the artist. I can't change all of that.

I think what bothers me is that AI artist say they made the AI art. Just like before, I can't control that people use AI generators, but just be honest with yourself. You get in trouble in school using AI for an essay and just submitting the AI generated essay, because you didn't write it, ChatGPT did. AI art generated is something you didn't make, the robot made it.

That aside people use AI generators, because they feel like they can't make art and I say just do it. Doodle on paper, draw anything. Not everyone draws perfectly on the first try, my art was certainly shit when I started, but I kept going because drawing is fun. I think anyone who tries to spite artist, by saying they are getting replaced forget one thing, and that is that artists like the process.
