My man thought Hua Cheng had someone else, and heard him clearly say he was absolutely smitten and wanted to win them over. Xie Lian heard all this and yes, he was sad about it, but he also didn't try to distance himself from Hua Cheng?? At all???
He was aware that the way Hua Cheng acted around him was pretty intimate, but he didn't reproach him once, not even in his internal dialogue. It didn't cross his mind for even a moment that perhaps it was inappropriate to be so close with Hua Cheng when he was interested in someone else. He was READY to take whatever he could, regardless of Hua Cheng's unknown special someone.

Man I heart prinxiety but I think it’s just a fact that they’re doomed to hurt eachother, even after all of thier resolutions thus far. Virgil is too scared for confrontation and Roman is too starry eyed to realize there’s an issue before it’s too late. I don’t doubt that Roman will just do grand gesture after grand gesture to make Virgil happy but it won’t work!!! It’ll be too much!!’ Virgil no doubt cares about Roman but no doubt that he won’t try to preserve himself first. They have entirely conflicting world views and I can see them burning eachother badly :C. Roman will make some fantasy in his head and when it’s not real he’ll just feel so lost and confused, and Virgil won’t be there for him when that happens because he just can’t handle all that. I hate them I’m gonna go cry forever and die. Childhood otp ruining my life
Yk what. Screw this!!! They love eachother, and as long as they do, they’ll work something out! They have their conflicting traits, but they just gotta communicate! And because they care about eachother, they’d be willing to compromise for eachother. They’ve been through it with and against eachother, and the only way to go is up.
