**BIOGRAPHY **.

Life to Lucius was an easy start and will most likely end just as easy. He is an only child, born to Abraxas Malfoy who was a well-respected philanthropist and respected council in the magical community. His mother died in childbirth and was known to be a darling housewife and doting friend to those who knew her. Growing up with Abraxas was a life filled with rules, but nothing that Lucius wouldn’t step up to. No muggleborn or half blood friends. No mixing with wizards who believe that equality is coming. Make the world a better place- or die trying. He never stepped out of line, never threatened boundaries and always had enough money to cover up the pieces of buildings falling.

Hogwarts came just as easy to Lucius as living with his father did. Everyone knew who he was, where he would be sorted and who he would turn into. All the heir needed was to live up to it. He wasn’t a bully- but he made his points very clear. Step in the way of anything that Lucius wanted or did, and you would be at the bad end of a hex. Many would say that things ended for Lucius when it came to a personality. His temper was short, his humor dry and his lack of empathy came off as simply lack of emotion. It wasn’t that simply- but nothing for a Malfoy was. He was raised fighting for a cause and he wasn’t going to let that go because someone wanted to be his friend or use him for his money. He was Lucius Malfoy and he was going to be as such.

_Then Narcissa came into the picture. _

It wasn’t shocking that his father married him off not two years after graduating from Hogwarts- it was shocking that someone like Narcissa bothered to entertain it. He knew her from school and she held herself together well. She held the Black family name like a crown and knew exactly what it could do for her. Obviously she was willing to do the same for the Malfoy family.

Lucius was officially marked the year after they got married. This wasn’t shocking to anyone in his circle, he had believed in this cause before he got to Hogwarts, and he would happily stand by it. He has pushed his way to one of Voldemort’s closest members and hopes to continue proving his power and will strength in this battle

THE BREAKDOWN

Lucius is an only child and will forever act that way. He isn't one to ASK for what he wants. He just assumes you should be able to read his mind.

While yes, his temper is EXTREMELY short- he is very calculated. He isn't one to fly off the handle and spite you immediately. He'll make it a long played out game to entertain him as long as possible.

Transfiguration was his favorite subject in school and he is quite talented.

His sense of humor is dry- he would rather make a joke in expense to you but if he doesn't expect it still to be dark and degrading.

WANTED CONNECTIONS

Would love to see a best friend 'bro' kind of moment with another death eater. Someone who maybe went to school with Lucius, (not a requirement) but someone who can actually laugh with him.

Of course enemies will be galore with any death eater, but I would love to see maybe a friends / lovers to enemies moment with a pureblood who was originally for the 'cause' and is now against it.

Evan reclined on the plush sofa, a glass of whiskey in one hand and a cigar in the other. His Death Eater mask sat beside him and he’d flung off his cape as he strolled inside; for all it was meant to hide he’d been particularly vicious tonight and most of his shirt and a good portion of his face was smothered in blood, the war liquid now cool and congealing but he felt no rush to change or clean up. 

No. He was basking in the afterglow. To torture, to rip, to kill with such ruthless proficiency, oh there was nothing else like it. “A job well done I say,” he said lowly, voice lazy, satisfied, “I have to say there’s nothing to match the glorious sound of a cut-off scream. It’s second only to broken hope, like when I told the father I’d spare his daughter if he barked and crawled around the mongrel he was. I don’t know what was more satisfying, that he did it, or the look on his face when I slit the girl’s throat in front of him.” He laughed and took a drag of his cigarette. 

“I tell you, when the Dark Lord promises one a fun evening, he delivers in spades, remind me to kiss his hand in thanks at the next convening.”

A rule since day one was that Lucius didn’t bring work home. No matter what, who or when it was, he was to come home like any other day and move on. When he got home, he was to not tell Narcissa anything that could even think about incriminating them moving forward. While the world may be aware of how shitty of a person Lucius was, he was smart enough to never tie himself to a crime- and excluding Narcissa out of that was one of the ways. Granted, she had also made it very clear that she didn’t want any part of the nitty gritty and would much rather pretend like nothing was happening anyway. So, that’s how he ended up with Evan again. Both men were covered in blood, and Lucius couldn’t tell it was his wand or himself that was vibrating from the night’s events. It hadn’t seemed that long ago since the last victims, but it seemed like every cell in his body was made new just from the simple experience. Evan was having his own come to Jesus meeting which always made Lucius laugh. They had grown up together and now to have things like this tucked under their belt almost made him laugh. Starting shit in Hogwarts to literal muggle torture. What a circle. Lucius wiped the blood from his eyebrow that was threatening to blind him and he laughed in Evan’s general direction. ‘ I’ve always been one for the quiet ones. They are so unaware that they can’t do anything. ‘ He joked. He gently tossed his matching mask to the side before leaning against a table, careful not to make anything too obvious that they were here. ‘ The all powerful provider. ‘ Lucius agreed, smirking over at his friend

I did at her family drama was to be expected. Of course, seeing as it was Malfoy she was speaking too. Still. The wound wasn’t entirely healed. Swallowing the hurt and resentment bubbling inside from his statement her attention was peaked by what followed. “Out of everyone, why on earth, would you care if I was ran over?”

Lucius knew that she was trying to see if he still had a soft spot for the blonde. To see if he would slip up and try to explain that with everything happening that things had just shifted, but he was still Luc. That wasn’t going to happen. ‘ Because Elise, ‘ He started, turning to show her the lovely spot she was standing in beside her. ‘ This is a lovely piece of property here in the alley, and the ministry would absolutely hate to have to repair it, right? ‘ He started, motioning over the whole area and taking in a dramatic sigh. ‘ And you know who funds a lot of the charities that the Ministry works with? Ah yes, me, your’s truly. ‘ He continued, pausing for just a moment for dramatic effect. ‘ So, you see, I don’t want my money going somewhere that you destroyed by getting trampled, or run over, or maimed, whatever you want to call it. So please, don’t waste my money. ‘

It was times like this that she was grateful that she had escaped a marriage to a man like Lucius, and that she had married a man like Ted. So many of the Pureblood men that she had known thought so highly of themselves and looked down on people that they thought were ‘beneath’ them. It boggled her mind how she had ever believed in the bullshit that her parents had spewed. Although she supposed that the situation was more complex than that, she had only ever believed on the surface to get her parents approval. And then she met Ted and was exposed to the way that the real world worked, not the Pureblood society that her parents tried to raise her in. She was glad that she didn’t live in that society with all of the bullshit that they believed. She was glad that she had Ted, and that he had saved her from a miserable marriage with a man that treated her like she was nothing. 

It was interesting to watch Lucius barely disguise his anger at her. She had always thought that he was more put together than that, and she had barely said anything. “I’m fairly sure that you are the one that’s getting loud, Lucius,” she told him calmly. “I feel like I’ve been rather calm all things considered.” Did she get some sort of pleasure out of getting under people like Lucius’s skin? Sure. But she also realized that it was a tad bit reckless and she shouldn’t do it too much. Her eyes narrowed. “Are you threatening me, Malfoy?” She demanded. She knew that they were never going to get along, and that wasn’t what she wanted, but did he really have the audacity to threaten her and her family? “Because that certainly sounded like a threat.” It was because of people like him that she could hardly let Dora out of her sight in public, she was always worried that one of these idiots would try something. She was glad that she had left Dora at home. 

“The fact that you are so damned defensive about a simple question is rather worrying,” she retorted when he finished. “Don’t speak of my husband, by the way, I was just asking a question. How you took the question is entirely on you.” She raised an eyebrow. “I think that you were trying to throw some sort of dig at me for falling in love with Ted, but I never asked to pick a side. If people like you and my parents could get your heads out of your arses than maybe I could have known what your relationship with Narcissa is like.”

People who believe that they have done no wrong in the war that was consuming so many lives are what Lucius truly believed were wrong with everything that was going on. There were always two sides, but the ones in the middle, who thought if they ignored it hard enough or blamed everyone else for the damage and destruction. Lucius knew he was an active participant and he wasn’t going to change that for anyone. Andromeda acting like she was better than him because she left the life while still making sure she stays somewhat relevant. Was she? Probably not but she made sure to get the attention of people she needed to make sure she stayed in conversation.

At this point, Lucius was rolling his eyes. He was sure it was childish and just gave her the belief that she had the upper hand but he was just trying to figure out how to wrap up this conversation at this point. He wasn’t sure if he even wanted to discuss this encounter with Narcissa, which meant many more things would make this situation even longer if anyone else found out. ‘ Get over yourself Andromeda, please. ‘ Lucius sighed, pushing some of his hair out of his face. ‘ You wouldn’t have the moment to question me if it was actually a threat. Don’t worry, your little family is safe for now. ‘ He grumbled. The words were lodged in the back of his throat, almost coming out like a small growl and barely audible. The idea of actually hurting her family would never be his first intention. Not because he cared about her, but he could only imagine the repercussions from his wife.

‘ The fact that you think Narcissa would allow any man to treat her even slightly carelessly is telling enough. ‘ Lucius stated. While he was fully aware that he would never think of betraying Narcissa, in a number of ways. He was also fully aware that she was a strong woman who would not tolerate any kind of mistreatment to herself. ‘ That’s the lovely thing about being selfish, you never cared that you picked a side. A silly man with absolutely no way to take care of you or simply have ground to stand on was more important than keeping the women who have been by your side since you were born. You left your sisters, Andromeda. You left- they didn’t. ‘ He snapped. He knew of the hurt this caused the family. Not to any depth that he could continue, but enough to know that it kept Narcissa aware of guest lists and Bella angry enough to not attend.

She laughed lightly - politely - and shook her head. “I can only try to be more considerate in the future.” She teased, her tone more good natured than it would have been had anyone else been waiting on the other side of the door. She liked Lucius, and not just because he was a powerful man from a powerful family. “I was planning on it, but the mornings been one snag after another.” She sighed, rolling her eyes as the only show of her abundant frustration. It wasn’t Lucius’ problem and she wasn’t in the habit of burdening others with her own affairs - especially not after she’d finally gotten her image and personal life back on track after the train wreck of a breakup Ludo had put her through. “But it can wait a little while longer if you wouldn’t mind some company. I can go back for that scone I passed up the first time."

It was nice to see Rita, it had been a minute since they had run into each other. There were few people that Lucius actually enjoyed speaking to for longer than a few sentences, and that number included his wife. ‘ It seems like everyone is having one of those days. ‘ He sighed ‘ Well come on, you can update me on the slimey things happening that I somehow haven’t heard of yet and I’ll pay you for your information by buying your scone. ‘ He smiled, opening the door widen and stepping through so she could follow him through.

“I suppose you’re not wrong.” He sighed slightly, loath to admit it, but elves were useful. He didn’t even have a problem per se with any of the Hogwarts elves, which outside of Dobby, were the only ones he’d ever met - and even that was a stretch, most had the presence of mind to take care of things while he was away. But still, on principle, he didn’t like the things. “Don’t remind me.” He grumbled, rolling his eyes at the mere thought of having to go back. Lucius was one of the few he didn’t have to pretend around that he had really even wanted the job in the first place. “I hate it.” He snapped, glaring at his friend as the small smile didn’t go unnoticed. But he relaxed again with a sigh and went on. “Most classes are surprisingly tolerable, and I do have more downtime for my own projects. But the first years… ” He scoffed. “If I have one more melted cauldron on my floor I’m going to make them scrape it off by hand.”

‘ When am I ever? ‘ Lucius was trying to keep things like in hopes that Severus wouldn’t get sucked into anything, but it was hard when they both were so tied to jobs that when you shined a light on them, were still pretty bleak. ‘ I can only imagine. I remember what I was like in school and I didn’t make anyone’s lives easier by showing up to class. ‘ The memories flooded him, and while he was never outright a difficult student, he was not known for showing up with the best intentions either. A clear balance of a child who knew that he had money and didn’t need the education to get him far in life.  ‘ How do you do that on accident...? ‘ He questioned, almost in disbelief that children could lack that amount of common sense. Well, he guessed that it wasn’t really common sense if they were learning. ‘ How many points can you take a day? Is there a limit or anything? ‘

From the outside Narcissa knew that a lot of people didn’t think the Malfoys have a loving marriage, and that it was something that had just been arranged by their parents. But that was far from the truth. Narcissa couldn’t imagine being in a better relationship. She knew she had gotten lucky, but she wouldn’t have had it any other way. Lucius was everything to her, and meant the world. Family had always been important to Narcissa, and Lucius was her top priority now. From the outside their relationship might look cold, but if that kept them both safe, then it was good.

“I don’t know…. depends who you got to tail me.” She teased, nudging his chest as she pulled away from him, and moved to hang her coat up. She knew her husband trusted her, and that everything was just in jest. The Malfoys had a very good and trusting relationship. “I got some new dresses. I wanted some new ones for Christmas….” She murmured with a smile as she turned back to look at her husband. “Oh no….” She mused with a laugh. “I had some lunch whilst I was out”

Lucius never knew truly what his parent’s relationship was like before he came along. He always assumed it was one with a quiet love, the kind that had smiles behind closed doors and inside jokes that never seemed to make it past those conversations. His father didn’t speak of her often, but there was always a kind smile when he did and it just never seemed like he got over the loss when she passed. Either way, he took this assumption of their relationship and built on it for his own. They don’t give anything to anyone, but they are kind to each other and they are loving- and Lucius really couldn’t ask for more. 

‘ So you’re saying if I let Evan follow you around all day you wouldn’t get annoyed with him- even a little? ‘ Her cousin was an important person in both of their lives, but even Lucius knew from Hogwarts that there was only so many things you could do with Evan in tow before it just led to drinking- which was of course the best part for them. ‘ You got yourself a whole Christmas wardrobe and didn’t even think of your husband? That’s concerning, Cissa. ‘ He sighed dramatically at her, though it was only a mere moment before a smile was spreading across his face and he just shrugged. ‘ Well at the very least you have to come with me to the kitchen. ‘ This was stated while he was wrapping his hand in hers and heading her with him through the darkening halls of the manor. ‘ How’re we feeling about a Christmas party this year? Have you put anything together? ‘

There was something about seeing Lucius Malfoy standing there that made her think of the life that her parents had planned for her that she had so resented. Lucius Malfoy was pompous and unkind to the general population, although she dearly hoped that he treated Narcissa better than he treated the rest of society.  She could have ended up married to someone like him instead of her kind and loving Ted. She could have ended up married to a man that she hated, wishing desperately for an escape from society and from the life that she lived. As a teenager, she had wondered what was wrong with her, why she had no interest in the parties like Cissa or wanting to uphold their family’s ideology like Bella. It was only after falling in love with Ted that she realized that her life was meant for something else, and she didn’t regret it for a moment. 

“I didn’t say that either,” she snapped. There was something about men like Lucius that set her on edge. “But how interesting. Are you used to being the center of everyone’s attention, Lucius? Because you certainly aren’t the center of my attention, although I’m not surprised that you would be so vain as to assume so considering you’re the one who wasn’t paying attention when you stepped out and into me.” Andromeda raised an eyebrow. “Hung around? You haven’t moved out of the way so I can’t go inside to pick up breakfast for my family,” she pointed out. “But how wonderful. I’m sure you are going to have a lovely night with Narcissa.” She paused. “I certainly hope that you are treating her properly.”

Lucius knew who he was. He knew he was unkind, he was cruel, he was spiteful. He wasn’t ashamed of it, he wasn’t afraid of it. Luc knew how to hone in that part of himself to make sure that everyone stayed far enough way that he didn’t have to use it. There was absolutely no point in pretending he was a good person who believed in the great good of fixing the world and the ministry and the people who ran it. There was nothing to fit, nothing to fight nothing to change. Lucius was a person who believed that people were born in the places they were to live those lives. There was no point in changing anything about it and he wasn’t going to pretend that there was anyway. So when his wife’s estranged sister wants to stand in front of him and act like he is a bad person, that isn’t what bothers him. Its that she thinks that she isn’t. She has no role in this game that they both are playing and she is without fault. 

' You’re getting loud and I would warn you about such manners in the middle of the street. If you’d like to have a heated conversation about the annoyance of me in your head that is completely fine but we will not be a thing to stare at.' Lucius’ mouth was rigid, and he realized his hand in his wand pocket was much tighter around than wood. He took a breath, trying to at least release the tension in his neck before speaking again. ‘ Your so called family is lucky enough that they get simple pleasures like eating at a bakery, maybe you should relish in it for a moment, Andromeda. ‘ Her name slipped out like a snake, falling over every letter in a spiteful way to ensure that she knew exactly what he was getting at. The slight attempt of trying to make a snarky attempt at his marriage made him see red for a flash and it took everything to not explode- but proving himself a hypocrite was not exactly on the agenda today. 

‘ The thing about my marriage to Narcissa is, you don’t get to see it, do you? You think just because your something of a husband is nice to you that anyone that isn’t an exact replica is the wrong thing. She is loved beyond belief but not only her family, but me, and will never have a question which one she needs to pick because it is the same thing. ‘ His rant was slow and calculated- at this point just trying to regulate his breathing and relax his now cramping hand.

There had been a time when Lucius hadn’t been such an annoying pest, but that was way back in their school days. Now she mainly wanted to rip his throat out with her teeth when she saw him. Giving him a smile just as condescending as his words, the blonde turned to him. “What are you doing here Malfoy”, she purred. “Finally venturing off on your own? You must be since I don’t see anyone around with enough clout for you to chase.”

While usually coming off as callous and cruel, Lucius always had a special place in his heart that he could just- annoy. It was like being a kid again, being able to push buttons without trying to terribly hard, just say a few things and rock on your heels. ‘ Well you see Elise, I live here, in London, so it only makes sense that I buy things here, ya? Small businesses to help maintain and such.’ It took everything in the man not to roll his eyes at the last comment, but, low blows were only to be expected. ‘ It isn’t chasing anything when I’m simply keep relationships with these people. I understand its different for you though, being excluded from such conversations now. How ya holding up? ‘ At this point he felt more like Cissa talking to someone who was holding a conversation for much too long. Too catty- too aware that they were at one point on the same scale. ‘ Look, you’re being the center of attention standing in the middle of the street- don’t try to get pissy at me because I didn’t want you trampled. ‘

Glad that the woman had the sense to shut up and leave, Severus turned back to Lucius with a curt nod, still frowning. “Lunch would be nice.” He agreed easily, adjusting his cloak before gesturing for Lucius to pick a table and following behind. He let some of the tension slip from his shoulders as they sat, the reality of finally being away from the castle settling around him. “It’ll be nice to be waited on by something other than an elf.” He sneered, shaking his head slightly. “I’m surprised you were able to pull yourself away from your work."

Luc shrugged his coat off and slid into the chair across from Severus, allowing himself to drop some of the tension from his shoulders and wave a waitress over to let her know they had sat themselves. ‘ While I’ll be the first to agree, I have better luck with elves half the time. They have the decency to do it correctly the first time anyway. ‘ Not that Lucius had actually had a bad experience with any waitress lately, but at least he didn’t have to worry about it with Dobby at home. ‘ Says the man tied to a castle, ‘ He teased, a small smile creeping across his lips ever so slightly. The witch finally made her way over and he just ordered a black coffee and took the menu out of her hand when she offered. ‘ How’s the education world treating you? Riveting? ‘ He asked, half curious, half trying to fill conversation as he scanned the menu for what he would actually eat.

Narcissa rarely spent the entire mornings out these days. It was mostly because she couldn’t stand most people these days. Half the people disliked her, and the rest just wanted to suck up to her. She really couldn’t stand it. But, she’d had some errand to run, and they’d taken her longer than anticipated. It was why she had ended up so late back to the manor. Well of course the lunch hadn’t helped, but it had been lunch time, and she’d been hungry, so she’d stopped for a sandwich. 

And now she was finally getting back to the manor. She intended to spend the afternoon having a bath, and finishing off her book. Narcissa loved nothing but relaxing. There was a smile on her face as she saw her lovely husband. “Keeping an check on me are you dear?” She teased, a grin on her face as she kissed his cheek, before shrugging off her coat. “I was running some errand, but they took slightly longer than anticipated”

Having the whole morning filled with nothing really seemed to throw off the Malfoy’s whole day off. Then, being on the opposite side of the welcome when Narcissa arrived really just confirmed all of that. He wasn’t upset about anything, but being so used to having a strict schedule and all of that going out the window one day was just throwing off his whole understanding of time. 

That being said, his whole body seemed to relax when she came through the door and smiled at him. He would clear an entire week for her if she just looked at him like that. He kissed the top of her head when she kissed his cheek and laughed lightly at the idea. ‘ Would you be offended if I did? ‘ He offered lightly. Trusting Narcissa came as easy as being in a room with her, but he would be lying if he didn’t trust everyone else now a days. He just kept reminding himself that she could hold her own and if she actually needed assistance, then she would reach out to him. ‘ Get anything good? Also, are you hungry? I’m sure the elves are putting something together as we speak. ‘

The blonde stood in the middle of Diagon Alley, other patrons moving around her as she stared down the market. It was an eerie feeling, all the memories flooding back to her. She’d visited the shops many times since her first day of school but at this time all she could remember was the very first time her mother and father took her to get her wand. No, not her father. Lysander. But before she could linger much further on the memories and harsh realities of her life it registered that someone was now standing directly in front of her. “I’m sorry”, she offered in her raspy tone. “Were you saying something?”

Lucius found himself out and about again in Diagon Alley. He had just finished up a meeting at Prophet’s main office to clear up a few reports and now he was just searching for some lunch. There was a girl, standing in the middle of the road, blocking just about everyone from getting where they were trying to get to. He took one solid look at who it was. It was a familiar face, but god who was it. Then it hit him in the middle of the thought- Elise. The Greengrass girl who was in all the papers about her blood status. ‘ That’s rough ‘ He laughed, not even realizing he said it out loud until the girl actually looked at him and asked him to repeat himself. ‘ Oh, nothing. Just took me a second. Is there a reason you’re standing in the way? Or are you just looking for a new spotlight? ‘

Running into Lucius was just about the last thing that she wanted to deal with today. Even though she had been gone from the family when Narcissa had married him, she certainly had thoughts on the matter. She knew that Narcissa wouldn’t care what she had to say, and she would never be stupid enough to interject herself into it, but seeing him there was certainly unpleasant. It wasn’t even Lucius’s fault, it was that he represented everything that she had had no interest in being or doing.

Raising an eyebrow when he said that she wasn’t there. It was strange to think of the life that her sister had that she knew nothing about. There had been a time when they had been close, had told each other everything. But that was a long time ago. “It’s interesting that you assume that I was looking for her,” Andromeda commented, meeting his gaze. Had she been looking for her? Of course. But she didn’t want Lucius to know. “I would ask how you are, but I’m not sure if i’m up for the fake pleasantries this morning.”

lucius knew enough about the missing sister to get by, but it was never something that cissa wanted to actively spoke about- and it wasn’t something that he was going to push. he had made his own assumptions about the matter, but again, he wasn’t going to actively discuss but it just felt like a ticking time bomb waiting to happen. lucius would be there to pick up the pieces, but he wasn’t going to set anything off. it was confusing to him- how you could be raised in a family so set up for success and readiness to step into the world already on top of everyone else, and just wanting to walk away because ‘ you didn’t agree with everything.’  actively asking to be the enemy of your family, but especially that family was never something that he assumed was an option. 

luc’s family visibly broke in a mocking smile when she tried to throw that back in his face as if she wasn’t looking for her sister. ‘ you’re right, how rude of me. i’m of course the center of your attention then. ‘ this whole encounter wasn’t something that lucius was looking to continue, but it was also creating a game to see just how uncomfortable and mad he would get her. it wasn’t like he was in any kind of rush today, though it wouldn’t be kind. ‘ you’ve hung around long enough to imply that you don’t plan on leaving the conversation either, so i’ll answer like you did ask. i’m doing well. with the party tonight and the weather changing, i’d actually call it delightful. wouldn’t you? ‘

Rolling her eyes at his words, Bellatrix felt the annoyance simmering down as she stepped outside to continue their conversation. As much as she’d love to be the reason someone was unable to leave and thus had their day ruined, she need to finish her coffee first. “I don’t know, just figured the whole world revolved around me, you know,” The witch mused as she took a small sip of the cup in her hand, rather to get a few drinks in before the drink got cold. “Invest in a better bed or some sleeping draught is all the advice I can give you there,” She replied with a shrug of her shoulders, personally she tried not to let any of her stress bubble over and chose to throw herself into her work for the Dark Lord when personal life got a bit too much. There was no better way to stay at the top than keep working herself. “Well of course,” Bella smirked, “Originally only planned to make an appearance tonight when all the brats are gone and my night can be enjoyable but mother dearest has requested someone show up this afternoon. Something about letting the world know we aren’t as dark as they think we are or something, though why she wants to send me to hang out during the children friendly activities is beyond me.” Narcissa would do just fine coming for the day but no, Druella wanted it to be the eldest. “Are you showing face earlier tonight or just waiting out the crazy?”

there was a chill that was starting to grab at lucius and while he would’ve loved to actually have a cup of coffee in his hand, he knew there was a slim chance of bringing bella back into the building, so he just zipped up his jacket and laughed at her comment. ‘ the world always revolves around a black sister, just gotta figure out which one on the day. ‘ he teased. the blacks’ were still somewhat of a mystery to him, and he had never been a stranger to the workings / family / lifestyle- whatever you really wanted to call it. its like the world knew that it had created something worth watching, and even it didn’t want to miss out on what they were going to pull- both reckless and educated. ‘ i hate the way a sleeping draught makes me feel next day. You don’t get that? ‘ he asked, genuinely curious for some reason. he also knew that there was no reason fighting what was happening. things with the Dark Lord had been progressing in ways that he couldn’t even dream of, and if that meant he would have to stay up late for a few more months, he would take it. It took everything of luc to not look actually shocked that bella would be around for the family friendly aspects of the day before the party began. ‘ it’ll do you some good, get out there, not so dark and moody, ‘ he teased. ‘ cissa wants to make an appearance, so i’ll pop in for a bit. can’t pass up a night of free entertainment, you know? ‘

Andromeda had been up late finishing Dora’s costume and hadn’t been in the mood to cook breakfast so she had popped into Diagon Alley to pick up something for breakfast. She figured that it was a holiday and Dora was already going to be overhyped on sugar, so she might as well embrace it. It wasn’t often that they got take out, Andromeda just found it easier to cook. And it certainly helped that she didn’t mind cooking. 

She was on her way out of the cafe when she bumped into someone. She was about to open her mouth to apologize when she recognized Lucius Malfoy. ‘Oh.” She glanced around to see if Narcissa was around. “Lucius,” she greeted, her voice curt. 

lucius’ mind was anywhere except in his head for the last few hours. the night was expected to be filled with too many events - both political and not that most of lucius’ days had been filled with meetings, lunches and letters. it was nice to wander around and not have to think of the conversation that he would be having with someone at the other end of the table but it clearly was also getting him into conversations that he would rather not have it at all. 

' andromeda.’ he sentence ended just as quickly as it begun. his sister in law- if he could really even consider her that stood in the door in front of him as if somehow under the impression that he ran into her on purpose. ‘ she isn’t here. no bother asking. ‘ he continued, watching as her eyes looked for something, he just assumed that it was likely her sister.

Severus was probably supposed to be drawing up lesson plans, or grading papers, or creating a new test that would make the first years cry - but he hadn’t felt like it. It was the first day in a while that hadn’t been dreary and he needed a change of pace - so he decided to step out for a quick coffee and maybe treat himself to a danish. 

He noticed Lucius down the street, hard to miss as he was, and quickened his steps, but only got to him after he’d already entered. He watched the witch get offended, opening her mouth to comment back and he sent her a withering glare. “Did you need something?” He asked harshly, before pointedly turning his gaze away from her and toward his friend. “Lucius. I didn’t expect to run into you this morning." 

the fact that the young witch was actually about to begin another word in response to being in lucius’ way that he was actually stunned, that is until he was interrupted again by someone maybe even less welcoming. ‘ severus, ‘ he nodded, moving farther into the cafe with a harsh glance back at the witch before settling on the young professor, ‘ care for some lunch? ‘ he asked. he had become somewhat ravenous in the short period of time and figured sev probably hadn’t made time to feed himself either.
