Hey haha. What do you mean it's been several years...
You already know I love art in painstaking media. Doc inspired by emesis blue (full length horror film made in source filmmaker! It's on youtube!)
I told you I'd put them in a word doc again.
Print here, if you'd like :)
Putting disco in .doc format again. + some alternatives, because I'm indecisive.
Also... you can put them on a wall...if you'd like.
I return to you with a word doc Vic.
Also...he (and others) can be found here!
my professor had your art in a lecture last month as an example of vector-based graphics ((the carlos piece from august without cecil) as an example of possibilities for vector based designs i mean), im so excited to run across your blog naturally and be able to follow you now!! I wanted to ask, are your pieces in word vector based or raster based? and i’m sure you get “why word” a ton so instead i will ask, do you have a favorite aspect of using word for your workflow?
The fact that somewhere on this planet someone was talking about my art in a lecture is so... When I first got this ask I had to stand up and look out the window for a full minute to chill myself out.
Anyway. I'd say my favorite aspect of word is the shape tool (which is vector based). It's satisfying to sit and think out where to click blocks of color into existence to make it look like a person, and getting into a rhythm with it can be relaxing. My second favorite part of each drawing is towards the end, where I can throw random word functions in there, like textboxes, random shapes, literally whatever I find on the ribbon.
Other programs probably have these, and are 10x easier to use, but. It's just about making stuff that works out of stuff that isn't suppose to work.
you said ‘clicking’ in one of your posts about your process... do you. do you also use a mouse? bc holy shit
Yes! I usually use the trackpad on my laptop, but sometimes I'll hook up a wireless mouse so it's less strain on my wrist after drawing for hours at a time.
I can't stop putting Kim Kitsuragi in Microsoft word. It will happen again.
Timelapse for you. Mind the jumpiness though, I had to compress about 7 hours of clicking and shifting things into 3 minutes of clicking and shifting things.
Fall has put me in the mood to replay the cowboy simulator. While I reacclimate myself to cowboy culture, please enjoy this word doc Sadie.
Miss Oranje disco dancer in the word doc
I just wanted to say, your art is absolutely beautiful and it's so impressive the way you do it. Please don't stop creating you amazing human being.
Thank you so much!! This is such a kind thing to say, I really appreciate this. I'm so honored that I can share my art with you all.
ma'am you are fucking insane (in a good way)
This is the highest form of compliment you could possibly give me. Anything worth doing is worth doing with a little bit of tasteful insanity.
why microsoft word instead of something like adobe illustrator ?
Good question! Uh.
Well, I first started doodling in word when I worked a very boring desk job, it was the only thing on the computers at work. My first post on here was an old drawing from one of those work computers. Now, I just do it for the enjoyment of the challenge. I just like to find difficult things that don't work and try to make them work.
Putting yet another DE character in the word doc. Have an Elizabeth.
Trying out a fun new way to crash my computer via overloading Microsoft word. Here's word doc Kim again.
A little microsoft word Harry Du Bois for you
