Premiere: Lymbyc Systym - “Opposing Bodies (Botany Remix)”

Botany’s retooling of label mates Lymbyc Systym’s new song “Opposing Bodies” is not your conventional remix, especially not by today’s standards. First off, it’s nearly twice as long as the original, stretching a radio-friendly 3:46 to a jazz LP-friendly 7:25. Second, the beat doesn’t drop until 2:40. Third, it’s coming out on 45 RPM, and actually bookends the release with the original song as the first track...

New EP out tomorrow on Western Vinyl featuring a remix by Botany streaming now on Tiny Mix Tapes.

Veteran post-rock/electronic duo Lymbyc Systym, who recently toured with Foxing (pics), last released the Split Stones LP in 2015 and they're following that with the New Varieties EP on August 5..

The lead track “Opposing Bodies” from our forthcoming New Varieties EP premiered today on Brooklyn Vegan. The limited edition 45 rpm vinyl format features "bone-colored" vinyl and a remix by Botany.

LYMBYC SYSTYM : Split Stones : Western Vinyl Can’t believe it’s been almost a decade since I first noticed the unique chemistry between the Bell brothers: returning with their sixth album this fall, “Split Stones,” it’s still lovely to be abused by their increasingly electrified and retro-tinged blend of instrumental post-rock soundscapes, which open majestically with “Generated Bodies,” a tune that almost veers off into the kind of club you’d expect in Alice’s Wonderland...
