A Humid Afternoon
07052015 || Chinatown, Singapore.
As we all know, Singapore has a tropical rainforest climate with no distinctive seasons. The temperature is usually high and very humid. If you're planning to go out and visit outdoor tourist spots, it is advisable to do it in the afternoon. It may be hot at one point and then it might rain afterwards. It is always best to bring a polo or cardigan that can protect you from the rain or the cold temperature inside the malls.

I saw your post about that Singapore trip. Any tips? Also, was your trip expensive, specifically the lodging? :((( please help me, rookie traveler here.
HI! I don’t know if you’ve been to Singapore already, sorry, I just saw your message today. Message me if you still need help.
Thank you!
Summer In July
07062015 || Phuket, Thailand.
The main reason of this trip is to extend the #SummerHits. Since I didn’t have any beach encounter during the summer season in the Philippines, I’ve decided to visit Phuket with my new travel buddy, Hazel. Unfortunately, there’s a typhoon during our whole trip, so we didn’t enjoy the beach that much. It didn’t stop my #LyndonOOTD shoot though. *Wink*

That Thing Called ALDUB
To be honest, I WAS never a fan of the “Juan for All and All for Juan” segment of Eat Bulaga. Once in a while, I’d be able to watch an episode or two because my family members are loyal EAT BULAGA fans, but I never really get to watch the full segment.
One night, my mom and brother kept on calling each other “Yaya” and “Rogelio”. I was like: “Who are these people?”. Only to find out that these are the names of the new characters of the segment. There’s this one Saturday when I got to watch a whole segment, which is also being referred to as “Kalye-Serye”, and this was the YaKie wedding where Yaya Dub fainted. Surprisingly, I enjoyed it, however, it did not compel me to be a daily viewer.
Then, something happened on September 5, 2015...
My best friend, Patty, was confined at St. Luke’s BGC. I was able to watch Alden Richards’ performance for the wild card entry of BULAGA PA MORE, but I’ve decided to grab something for lunch and missed the final half of the episode. Patty excitedly told me that Alden and Yaya Dub were able to finally see each other in person only to be separated by a thin wall before they could touch each other. My initial reaction was “Ah.... Sayang!”.
After a long day in the hospital, I went home. I was all alone in the house because my family attended an event in Pampanga, and being the paranoid that I am, I was finding it hard to sleep. It’s 7am of the following day and I have yet to get any decent sleep, so I just browsed newsfeeds from my Facebook timeline and saw someone shared a video with the caption “NAGKITA NA SILA!”. Just for the heck of it, I watched the video. At first, I found that when Yaya Dub and Alden were running around the stage to get a glimpse of each other a little on the corny side BUT when their eyes met, with the song “God Gave Me You” at the background, and saw the smile on Maine’s eyes emanating what seemed to be pure joy, I was moved by how genuine everything seemed and overcame with emotions that I cried.
Source: ALDUB LOVE STORY (youtube) and www.iweb.ph
That day, I re-watched not only the entire episode, but also that magical moment that happened between the time 3:51 to 4:46 of this very episode countless of time. Each time, each viewing brought tears to my eyes. Since then, I became an official ALDUB fan.
I knew Alden Richards released an album in 2013, with the help of my friend, I was able to score a copy. Thank you, Manay Agnes!
If only Maine Mendoza aka Yaya Dub already released an album, I would also surely secure a copy.
It would seem the stars where in the right alignment for me to meet one half of this worldwide phenomenon because my friend, Joanne, was invited by Sir AK to visit him at Broadway last September 11, 2015, and since I’ve been trying to convert her to become an Aldub fan, she thought of bringing me with her. I thought we will just have a quick meeting at the artist’s hallway but one of the staff escorted us to the side stage so we can watch the show first while waiting for Sir AK.
As I watched Alden’s segment there was absolutely no doubt he is really the Pambansang BAE. I thought that the whole building would literally collapse when he went onstage with Sam YG as the audience screamed their hearts out for him. The atmosphere and the excitement reminded me of something similar to the J&J Teen Cheer Competition or the UAAP/NCAA opening ceremony.
As I said earlier, the stars were in alignment as I was able to meet Alden. Unfortunately, Yaya Dub, being part of the “Sugod-Bahay Gang” with JOWAPAO (Jose, Wally and Paolo), is often on location, so there was really a slim chance of a photo-op with her.
That’s me and my friend, Joanne with the Pambansang BAE, Alden Richards.
Before we left, Mr. Joey de Leon arrived. I called him ‘Tito Joey’, then, I remembered how he doesn’t want to be called Tito. So after this photo was taken, I redeemed myself and called him ‘Sir Joey’. This makes it 1 out of 3, and, hopefully on my next visit, I’ll have a photo-op with Bossing and Tito Sen.
Thank you very much, Joanne and Sir AK! Until next time.
Did I forget to mention that on the day of my visit it was also the premiere of Aldub’s first ever TVC - the one for McDonald’s newest product? Well, it was, and being an Aldub Fan, of course, I not only tried it but I enjoyed it as well.
Call me Baduy, Pathetic or Jologs, I don’t care. I. Just. Don’t. Care.
Hahahaha! Until next time!
Kisses,
D.

TRAVELGRAM: Singapore, The land of the lion.
I consider Singapore as a lucky country for me, traveling wise. As of this writing, I've been to Singapore twice and both trips were FREE! The first time I went there was with my whole family. It was a long time plan of my ever-generous sister to have an out of the country trip with the whole family. Unfortunately, my Daddy Yo died before this trip was planned. It was a fun trip though. It's been years since we had a family trip in the Philippines.
The second time I went there was courtesy of Globe Telecom. The Platinum brand had their incentive program for the Relationship Managers with the most number of Platinum plan upgrade. I got the top spot (with the help of my friends Edgar, Migs, Joanne and Lani-li). My RM friend Leri, bagged the second spot so we were the lucky duo who attended the 2014 Singapore F1 Grand Prix.
Just like my other trips, an airport photo is a must. And I swear Changi Airport is soooooo clean!
Every time I wear my DM's, I feel like I am a fashion icon. Kaya kahit mainit sa Singapore, Boots kung boots! Lol!
The most excited person in this trip is our baby boy, Gelo. Yes, that's me at the back wearing my, Uhm... BOOTS!
Good thing my brother was here with us. It means, I am not the official photographer this time.
'Parazi shot with the immigration representative. Photo by: Yes it's blurred beacuse, My Sister. PEACE!
More Changi Airport photos.
After we checked-in, we go straight to the City for some tourist mode.
Yes, the pose. C'mon! it's Judo. Hahaha!
Some photos from our first day City tour. Sorry, first time! :)
The street crossing the Marina Bay.
This photo is so OFW-ish. (no offense meant. PEACE!)

Here are our photos at the Singapore Flyer while waiting for our shuttle.
Our official videographer, Kuya Allan.
Before going to Sentosa Island, we headed first to the Merlion Park. Most people say that if you want to justify that you've visited Singapore, you should have a photo with the Merlion.
Rest time while watching the Singapore river.
Singtel Payphone. By the way, Singtel is the official roaming partner of Globe Telecom in Singapore.
More photos with MBS as background.
Of course, When in Singapore...
VISIT H&M!!! (although as of this entry, H&M Manila is now open).
And because I am an H&M hoarder, they gave me this $20 gift card. I gave it to my friend though, since I can't use it on the same day.
...And visit a friend. My college buddy Hazel, who is working in Singapore for 4 years now.
During my first visit, she brought me to Makansutra. It's like SG Mercato.
On my second visit, she stayed in my hotel room overnight.
Let me also share some photos from our F1 Singapore experience.
Our flight was at 6AM, it was raining hard that time. Me and Leri volunteered for change flight (denied boarding) since the flight was fully booked. PAL gave us a free snack and a free roundtrip ticket to Singapore or lower valid for one year. Call us BAYANI, thanks to Leri's PAL ways. Apir!
Our free snack from Cafe France.
I just love window photos.
By the way, Alice Dixon was in front of me in this flight. She is sooooo pretty! Here's our lunch from PAL.
This is my hotel room.
My favorite place, my sanctuary inside the hotel.
Our Kit for the Lotus F1 Paddock Club.
This is Leri, my date at the Dinner with ELC in Marriott Hotel, Singapore. Ironically, ELC was not there but Peter Bithos was there.
We didn't finish the event and we headed straight to the F1 event for that night. And because of series of unfortunate events that happened that day, we only have few photos. And by few, I mean FEW!
Riding the train going to the event. Atas ang outfit pero naka train! Lol!
Some photos at the event.
Second day, is shopping day. We don't have much photos that's why train photos are sweet treasure.
We ate at Marche. It's like a mini-market. They will give you a card that you can use in buying your food and must be surrendered before leaving for them to know how much you will pay for your food. Yuuuuuuuummmmm!
The sink at the men's restroom.
We left Singapore the following day. Leri took the 6AM flight and I'm on the 2PM flight. It's my first time to travel back home alone, but it's fun!
That's my Singapore story, hoping to go back there next year. I'll post my Sentosa Island and Universal Studios adventures on my next entry. I hope you guys enjoyed my photos!
Ciao!

Doppelgänger (Ka-Look-Alike or KALOKA-like?)
Doppelgänger
In fiction, it means a look-alike or double of a living person.
In folklore, doppelgänger is believed to be a person that foretells the coming of someone. It is also believed as a phenomenon that signifies change, possibly good or bad.
In street language, it simply means double or someone that closely resembles another.
Most of the time our doppelgängers are celebrities or famous personalities. I hate to admit it but... Yeah, it is a compliment being compared to these people. Since last week, my Facebook and Instagram timelines were invaded by MAKE-UP TRANSFORMATION photos. (read: make-up transformation trend is different from picture collage. CLEAR?) And then I remembered this pending blog entry about (for the nth time) Doppelgänger.
Here are the Top 10 Doppelgängers that people said I kinda look like.
10. John Prats - A local actor/comedian/dancer and TV host in the Philippines. Started as a child star in 1992 via the youth gag-show ANG TV. People said I looked like him when we were younger. Actually, it started when Batang X and Rollerboys movies came out in 1995.
9. Andre Paras - A Filipino model/actor. He is the son of former basketball superstar Benjie Paras. My former boss told me that we're look-alike when the Diary ng Panget movie came out.
8. Ryan Yllana - A comedian turned politician in Paranaque, Philippines. Most of his TV shows were with GMA7. I can't forget this story. My friend and I were at Shell J.Vargas that time when a group of young boys came out of Chowking. One of them surprisingly went beside me and uttered loudly, "Si Ryan Yllana nga!". I don't know if we really have any resemblance or it's because we're both... Uh, HEALTHY?!
7. Paul Salas - A child actor who started his television career via the reality-based artista show, Starstruck Kids. From GMA he moved to ABS-CBN in 2008 and now one of the popular tweens of the network. Maybe, I look like him during my younger years.
6. Miko Samson - He is a former teen actor. His claim to fame was the hit ABS-CBN youth-oriented TV series G-mik. He was part of the Stefano-Camille-Miko love triangle. I heard he is now a practicing lawyer.
5. Gino Quillamor - He is the latest addition to the Ultimate Radio Duo Chico and Delamar of The Morning Rush. He is also the reigning Cutest Male DJ of Spot.ph. After his GGV guesting, one of my brother's friends messaged me on Facebook "Kamukha mo pala si Gino ng Morning Rush!". Of course I am flattered. Who wouldn't want to be a Gino Q. look-alike?
4. Matthew Mendoza - He was a 90's heartthrob. He is best known as Fredo in the 1996 movie remake of Dyesebel with former beauty queen Charlene Gonzales. Actually, people will just say that I look like him after mentioning my number 2 doppelgänger.
3. Kirby de Jesus - Another Starstruck alumnus. He was part of the second wave of Starstruck. He appeared mostly on GMA shows when he was still active in showbiz.
2. Robin Da Roza - Another 90's heartthrob. He is an actor/model and former television host. He is a graduate of the Philippine School of Interior Design. During one of the breaks of the personality development training that our College block organized, the speaker came to me and mentioned that I look like Robin Da Roza. Again, who wouldn't want that right?
1. Raymond Gutierrez - A TV host, editor, columnist, endorser and actor. He is the twin brother of Richard Gutierrez. I must admit that Mond is the most "gasgas" name that people will mention when taking about my look-alike(s). I can never forget this one time, we were in Caloocan for a product activation of my high school friend. We were touring the barangay giving cheese products. All of a sudden a mommy grabbed my hand and asked "Lumalabas ka sa TV dba?" then another mommy joined us and asked "Gutierrez?" Me and my buddy were just laughing because all the mommies went to us to buy our cheese and we were the first team to finish selling the products. I actually admire Raymond's style.
Here's a bonus doppelgänger. I actually don't know why, but as far as my memory serves me right when I was a kid people always tell me that I look like HER. Yes, you read it right...HER.
Gretchen Barretto - An actress and an endorser in the Philippines. The ST Queen of the 90's and the eldest of the Barretto showbiz sisters. I don't know why and how we are look-alike.
How about you guys who is/are your doppelgänger/s?
Kisses,
D.

Lyndon TV Season 2 Episode 1 : Platinum Relationship Management Team Building 2013
Fashion is something, Style is everything.
FASHOWN.
For those who are about to raise their eyebrows... No, I am not a stylist nor a fashion consultant. It's just that people who know me the best trust my eye and taste in fashion, they often ask my opinion about what to wear and how to accessorize them, and I am more than happy to oblige.
What I tell them is what I'll be imparting to you.
It all starts with COMFORT. You could wear the season's best but if you're not comfortable, they will not look good on you. All you did was buy expensive clothes. You could consult trend mags, but they should not overwhelm your style because you will end up with a disaster and be an eyesore to other people.
After we were given our clothing allowance last Friday, me and my good friend, Tina helped our colleague in choosing his clothes and accessories. Helping him was a good stress-reliever.
And then I remembered the first few people I styled, My nieces and nephew... Lol!
Kristian Dave's junior prom in 2008.
Katrina's graduation photo shoot in 2012.
Lhen's first office day outfit.
Jhoi's outfit for Prodigee's Christmas Party 2012.
Jhoi's outfit for Kristian's birthday party 2013.
And of course for myself.
As you can see, I go for what's comfortable. As Alexander McQueen would say.. " I think there is beauty in everything. What ‘normal’ people would perceive as ugly, I can usually see something of beauty in it." Go for the classy look because fashion fades but style is eternal. Naks! Lakas maka-Yves Saint-Laurent.
Ciao!

TRAVELGRAM: Hong Kong Disneyland.
This is actually a trip that didn't cross my mind that time. Me and my best friend, Patty had this tampuhan before this was planned. She actually insisted that I should join this trip because in the long run we will still patch things up and this adventure is one for the books. True enough, this trip is really a memorable one. Not just because it's our first time to go out of the country but also the thought of fulfilling one of our dreams, which is to go abroad together.
The waiting game. We were on an early morning flight, that explains our sleepy look in the lounge.
Our first Hong Kong photo.
The Hong Kong International Airport is actually one of the biggest I've been to. DUH!!! I've been to 3 pa lang naman. Hahaha... You actually need to ride a train to get your luggage.
This is it! My childhood dream. We will be experiencing Disneyland. I. Can't. Believe. It.
Hong Kong Disneyland consists of seven themed areas as of this writing: Main Street, USA, Fantasyland, Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Grizzly Gulch, Mystic Point, and Toy Story Land. We experienced a bipolar weather inside. One time it's raining hard then it's so sunny the next time. This explains why we don't have so much photos here.
The Space Mountain is an indoor roller-coaster. It's very dark inside and you can only see some glow lights. You will be clueless, and the next time you'll know the ride already dropped. I've heard so much about it and most of the people are saying that going to Disneyland is non-sense if you will not try the Space Mountain. And yes, for the heck of it I tried it and it was indeed an awesome experience.
Pardon my natatae look on our first drop.
One of the best events inside Disneyland is the parade. Unfortunately, we were inside the "It's a small world" ride when that happened. As a consolation, it's one of the best rides ever.
Here's the complete It's a small world experience.
It's a small world from TheLyndonTV on Vimeo.
The Golden Mickey was also one of the exciting parts. Most of the Disney characters that I love were in the musicale.
Walking has never been so much FUN!
And then Patty and I became Mommy Tins subject to practice her photography skills.
For the finale, I tried hard not to shed a tear but I just can't help it. The Disneyland fireworks display is surreal. The Music made me feel like a child again.
The Hong Kong Disneyland Fireworks Display from TheLyndonTV on Vimeo.
This place was a dream came true and I would definitely go back to Disneyland again, in another country maybe. I wish!
