canāt stop thinking about hisdarkmaterialsnatural because the outline was already there! they were already trying to kill god! there is no replacement thatās the pointāfree will means no higher authority, not just making a nicer higher authority. itās not the king is dead long live the king, itās the king is dead now we must rebuild a more just kingdom. souls when they die get the option to become one with life again, not eternity in a bland afterlife (be that the underworld in hdm or heaven in spn.Ā āAll the atoms that were them, theyāve gone into the air and the wind and the trees and the earth and all the living things. Theyāll never vanish. Theyāre just part of everything.ā free will is about choosing life, about choosing living (letās ignore that dean never got to do that) and making choices that arenāt dictated by a higher authority or a fear of one. heavenās not a thing you get because you deserve it for suffering through life, itās about learning to live through hardships, building something real from the ground up.Ā āWe have to build the Republic of Heaven where we are, because for us, there is no elsewhere.ā thatās what itās about, baby! all the pieces were there to hone in on this messageāseason 15 seemed to be exploring the same themes. and then we get 15x19 and 15x20 and in a one two punch you get a new god who promises things will be better now (and I love jack, but the promise of one being holding the power of creation that he isnāt going to meddle is not a changed system? not really) and then dean dying andĀ āgetting eternity in heaven as a reward.ā show me the triumph of free will there. show me how an eternity in heaven is better than building a meaningful existence through hard work on earth.
