teddy and ty were childhood ‘acquaintances’. not even friends, they weren’t even close. they literally just carpooled together. ty did have a big, embarrassing, very obvious crush on her and always tried initiating conversations but teddy always gave dry answers

‘teddy’ is actually just a family nickname (everyone else called her by her first name) but ty was a very annoying child who insisted on using that nickname too. she just let him, even if it irked her at the time, because she thought it was nice that someone cared about her enough to ask her mom what they called her at home

she was described as ‘homely’ growing up. her relatives had always said her brother was the more handsome one. but ty thought she was the most attractive person in the universe when he was 12. somehow that feeling never really went away
