The two had broken ribs, but they held onto eachother like they were going to break some more.

Wukong stared at his enemy that was unconscious in his own home, in his own bed. He let his eyes run down the tuffs of his fur, and for the first time; he saw stars. He saw a galaxy sky, not some coal. He saw the moon, he saw the night, he saw dark chocolate. Not a void, not a black hole, not a shadow. A moon.

“I’ll stay even if you beg, if you cry, if you push me. If you scream, if you rip out my heart, I’ll stay here. Holding you in my arms.”

His blood was on my hands; I had caused it for the second time. For the second time I had caused him pain. For the second time we had fought.

For the first time we fought as friends.

I hated how he made me felt. I hated that I was so warm in his arms. I hated that I couldn’t bring myself to scream at him to let me go. I hated that my bones beckoned him closer. I hated that my heart pounded a lovesick song when he looked at me.

I hate it.

The great sage held his enemy in his arms, stabilizing them both as he rose from the ground. With a shaken and uncertain breath, Macaque spoke few words; “I don’t want to go yet.. Stay..” His voice trailed off, his tone suggesting that there was more to say. Leaving his sentence unfinished the ginger monkey settled on the cold rock, holding his friend tightly. Mihou managed a jagged chuckle, followed by guilt. “I’ll stain your clothes.” Wukong whispered with a strong and confident tone, his love going unheard.

“Stain them.”
