“Well if you ever need to crash or something I can take them both for a few hours.” Verity offered, looking over at her sister for a moment. Before she looked over at Sophia and watched her. Her attention went back to Macey. “Yeah, perfectly fine. Why wouldn’t I be?” Maybe she was lying a little bit, but Macey didn’t need to worry about that.

Macey smiled lightly at her sister. “Thanks.” She said, watching her closely for a moment. She wondered if she was telling the truth. Macey shrugged. “I don’t know... been a lot going on the last few months. Just wondered.”

“Finally got them both down.” Brian stated, as he moved out of Sophia’s bedroom. “We probably have a couple hours before Donnie wakes up.” He hadn’t been home since Donnie was born. He had been here helping Macey the best that he could and sleeping on the couch. “Should we try to watch something or get some sleep?”

Macey smiled. “Well, that’s a miracle.” She joked. Sophia had been a little restless since the accident but she was doing okay. It seemed that she always wanted to try and stay up and watch her baby brother too. Which was cute, Macey had to admit. “Let’s see what’s on the telly, I don’t think I’ve watched anything since we got home.” If she hadn’t been looking after the kids, she’d been asleep. “Though I’m not promising I won’t fall asleep.” She joked.

Verity smiled over at her niece for a moment, glad that she was getting better. Her attention went back to her sister. “Hey.” She peered in at Donnie. “Well if you want, you can crash in my bed and I can sit here with them.” The brunette offered, the papers weren’t distracting enough to keep her thoughts from Penny. Which she hadn’t heard from since she went to rehab. But she had broken up with her so maybe that was why.

“Hey...” Macey gave her a soft smile, shrugging as she sat down. She looked in at Donnie. “I think I’ll be alright... I don’t mind so much right now.” Macey admitted. She had never really gone through this before, Sophia had been older than Donnie when she took her. Macey just really wished that Alexander was here. “Um... so, you alright?”

Verity had been doing her best to focus on the papers in front of her but she wasn’t having such luck. Honestly her thoughts were on Penny but she couldn’t exactly say that. When she heard the door, she reached up and brushed some tears away. Making sure she looked okay, seeing her sister and niece. “I’m here just grading papers.”

Macey followed Sophia through, who had already rushed to where Verity was and hopped up beside her. “Hey..” She moved over to the couch and sat down, peering at Donnie and then leaning back with a little sigh. “God, I’m exhausted.”

“Careful.” Macey called out lightly as Sophia started running, causing the little girl to slow again as she moved into her aunt Verity’s place. Her wrist still wasn’t fully better and Macey was being overprotective. She pushed Donnie in the pram, following her daughter inside. “Hey, Verity? You in?”

Brian couldn’t help but smile as he watched her reach for another cupcake. When she didn’t complete her sentence, he raised a brow slightly. Sitting up straighter. “Macey?” He questioned, reaching out to take the cupcake from her and put it back down. “What’s wrong?” He started to reach for his cell phone. Just in case he needed to call someone. 

“Something--” Macey started, but a pain ripped through her again and she squeezed her eyes shut, shaking her head. “The baby... I need an ambulance..”

Brian was really glad that he had decided to come back to town. He was glad that she was allowing him to be there for both of them. He glanced at the countdown for a moment before back to Sophia and then Macey. “I would suffer anything for you and with you.” He teased lightly, nudging her back lightly. “That it has.” He knew that she had lost a lot this year with Alexander. And maybe just because of that he might be looking into his murder. Reaching over he placed his hand over hers. “I’m glad that I’m here with the both of you.”

"Uh huh.” Macey chuckled, giving him a look as she reached for another cupcake. God damn things were too tempting and hey she was eating for two right? “I’m glad you’re--” She was about to say she was glad he was here too when a sharp pain went through her. “I---” Macey had never been this far along with a pregnancy before and her first thought was that something was wrong.

Macey smiled as she sat back down on the couch next to Brian, finishing off the cupcake in her hand. Sophia was getting tired but she was determined to stay up to the bells, which amused Macey a little. She was still so angry and shaken about the car accident but Sophia’s bruises were fading so she had to just hope that there’d be no lasting effects. “This is nice… even if I can’t drink.” She chuckled, looking over at Brian.

Brian was sitting there with Sophia, smiling at the little girl who was showing him something on her iPad. She seemed much better since the accident. He had been worried and maybe over protective and not leaving either of their sides until he had to. Plus Macey was due any day now. So he was being there for them more. “This is very nice. And don’t worry I’m not drinking either.” He chuckled, looking back at her. If Sophia fell asleep, he would carry her to her bedroom and put her to bed.

Macey was glad that Brian was in town, she wasn't sure what she'd do without him anymore. It was nice for Sophia to have someone familiar too after they all lost Alexander. She smiled, looking from Brian to Sophia who seemed happy enough. "Well, thank you for suffering with me, I appreciate it." Macey joked, chuckling as she gave Brian a nudge and turned up the TV where they had the countdown playing. "This year's gone so fast..."

“What happened?” Macey was frantic as she rushed into the room Sophia was in, crouching in front of her and checking her over then pulling her to her for a hug. “What the hell happened? Are you guys okay?” Directed towards Verity. Of course she was having all sorts of thoughts and flashes back to Donal’s death too.

Linda smiled at the little girl. Of course recognizing them as important people from her son’s life. And considering that her family had basically gave them Alexander’s shares and set up account for Sophia and Macey to want for nothing. “Oh no, it’s fine dear.”

Sophia kept going when Linda said it was fine, intent on getting to see her and Macey couldn’t exactly drag her away so she just followed, working up a smile. “Hey. How’ve... you been?”
