Last night at Grand Tease Hamilton was a blast!! It was so well run and all the performers were simply incredible. Whilst I didn’t make to the final in Christchurch, I did walk away with the coveted awards for best costume and best butt!

Making pasties for my Siren routine! For these I used the pattern in Jo Weldon’s “Burlesque Handbook” out of stiffened felt, tassels from fringe trim and a bunch of rhinestones.
A more detailed tutorial will be popped up soon, but just quickly, I’m utterly in love with Swarovski Meridian Blue flatback rhinestones with their bright red flashes. Stunning!
SO EXCITED TO PERFORM AT THE HAMILTON HEAT!!
I will be debuting a classic strip to the traditional ‘Harlem Nocturne’, complete with some shimmies, shakes, a bad attitude and twirling tassels, along with my Siren act.
Equally as excited to be sharing the stage with two super talented and gorgeous gals from Lilly Loca’s Bambina Burlesque Academy. LET THE INVASION BEGIN!!
More from Auckland’s Dr Sketchy! Cheers Tim Dawson for the pix!
Handy Hint (of the day)
There is very little that I love more than slipping into a pair of thigh highs (well, there are a few things notably: sleep, chocolate, wifi, you get the idea) but one thing that I hold absolutely no love for is attaching said thigh highs with clips, be it to a corset or suspender belt. Front ones? Not a problem (usually), Back ones? 99.8% fail rate of being able to attach without twinging my neck, throwing my back out, or being able to attach them in the first place.
So what to do? The answer is simple, if you’re lucky enough to have detachable garter clips, simply detach and pop them on the stocking, slip stocking on, then pull garter clip up and reattach. Or if they don’t, go right ahead and attach the clips anyway.
No more back bends! No more slips and potential rips or runs! No more standing around cursing your inability to hook that tiny bobble through the clip!
Amazing!
(p.s feel free to tell all your friends, but only after watching them struggle for a bit first!)
Modern Greek mythology: Persephone wears a ‘winter is coming’ shirt. Demeter is not amused.
A little tease of my upcoming “Siren” act which will premiere next week! If you’re in Auckland make sure you come on down to Cassette 9 at 7pm
Xx
All the VIP tickets have sold out! But there is still tickets remaining for standing room, for more details check out http://www.eventfinder.co.nz/2015/bambina-burlesque-academy-graduate-showcase/auckland
A show not to miss!!
