tidewashed:
Today seemed to be like the unluckiest day for Ariel. A dog had chased her around the park in circles earlier, and she wasn’t sure if it was because of her steak sandwich or because someone had forgotten the pooch. She’d tried to befriend it so she could see the tag, but it just went speeding after her, barking and looking at her like she was its next meal. She’d just gotten away from the dog when she bumped into Madden, making her trip over her feet and fall onto the ground.
“No, no, that’s totally my fault,” she whispered, getting up. Offering a hand out to him, she chuckled. “Some dog was chasing me and I had to run like hell to lose it.”
Madden took the hand offered and tried not to laugh himself as he stood up. He told himself to save it for when he found out what sort of dog it was. “What kind of dog was it? Rottweiler? German shepherd?” Absently, he rolled out the arm he’d hit, thankful he wasn’t hurting more.
