dylanxadams:
…
dylan watched madison, waiting for her reaction. but what she wasn’t ready for was how she would react. she watched as the young girl literally shook before finally sob as dylan explained what happened. she didn’t know why she was so bad with emotions. although, some things were coming to light that she wasn’t ready to deal with or accept. she should be crying too. she should be a mess just like madison. and yet, the tears never came. she felt awful for what she had to do, but she couldn’t take it back. all she could do was deal with the consequences. dylan set down the things on the counter before walking over to madison. “madison,” she whispered, her hands coming up to rest on madison’s shoulders. she didn’t know how to comfort someone who was like this. “i’m so sorry, madison…”
madison tensed up for a moment when dylan touched her. the older woman’s attempt at comfort almost worked. growing up the most solace she received from her father was a pat on the back or a shoulder squeeze. the familiarity of it offered a moment of peace until she remembered how horrible it had always made her feel. madison shrugged off dylan’s touch, getting up and moving a few steps away from her. “and what about you?” madison’s tone was defensive, crossing her arms over her chest in another sign of being closed off. “if you didn’t wanna do it why are you acting like this? god, dylan, you just told me how she died like you were fucking reading a chinese menu!” madison wasn’t really mad at dylan. she was hurt, pissed off, confused; dylan just happened to be the easiest target for her to direct that towards. and god she felt so fucking stupid for wanting dylan to hug her. kiss her. do something. she needed someone to hold her right now. the sad reality is that dylan was all she had. dom was gone. shane—that was a mess she didn’t even know how she had gotten into. all that was left was dylan, and madison felt like she couldn’t even talk to her about this.
