Kay was just peacefully asleep, she didn’t really realize the time pass… it was really the first time she’d fallen asleep for 453145@ … all the chaos of yesterday and the recent events had just sorta disappeared, things felt better now.. it felt okay.

It just felt like… they were content. At home, for the first time in a long while.

[rabid as shifted around on the mattress, pushing herself upright and blew the strand of hair away from her eye]

[rabid looked down at the sleeping kay beside her. Reaching into her jester hat her pulled out a air horn and put it a decent distance away from Kay’s head but close enough to be super loud]

[a dream floffis with yellow markings that had appeared between the two fell over and onto the floor in surprise of the noise]

Kay woke up suddenly, a blade forming in her hand as she instinctively almost attacked rabid. One of the first times Kay looked genuinely off guard, she almost looked scared, on the offensive, for once.

A haze, familiar. It felt familiar. Aaron. A loud noise, that’s what happened when—

Kay looked around quickly, “where am I— what-“

Yet again, Kay seemed confused for one of the first points in time, scared, stressed, alarmed, though she calmed down once she realized what was happening, her pupils dilated back to their normal size as they processed what room they were in, the black blade formed from their arm dissipated back into their skin.

“…Oh… I’m here.

[rabid dropping the air horn as she covered her face with her hand as she thought he could’ve stopped it from hitting her face in a act of instinct. Rabid stared at Kay startled and a lil tyke nervous by how reactive she was]

“…heh…my bad?”

[the floffis made a small huff as if offended then sneezed somehow]

“Oh, it’s fine…” Kay frowned a bit… oh… she scared rabid. That’s not good… don’t do that. Kay shuffled a bit away from Rabid, that’s not good… don’t scare people. Stupid…

Kay’s attention shifted to the Floffis, they were a bit confused. It was like pudding but yellow, “…I… don’t remember that being there.”

[rabid leaned over Kay’s shoulder to see what’s shes looking at, which was a new floffis..another one? We have plenty already]

“You made that? I thought that’s was moshies thing”

[rabid poked Kay’s face]

“…I… have made one before.” Kay said, though they were a bit confused. They picked up the little guy, moving away from rabid’s touch a bit, they tilted their head a bit, it seemed to be a dream Floffis… huh.

Kay paused for a moment.

“Sherbet.” They murmured.

[sherbet chittered happily and made a faint burr]

[rabid raised an eyebrow then got off the bed with a large stretch of her body]

“Yelp this has been such a ‘wonderful’ few couple of days”

[rabid sighed speaking sarcastically, tired emotionally but no longer physically. Fixing her outfits and yawning in the process]

“…Yeah… wonderful.” Kay murmured, it felt odd… very odd. Also a shitty couple of days. Kay put down the Floffis and got up, “Well, I suppose I should… leave you alone.” Kay said, feeling as if she’s uselessly taken up time here, she scared rabid… it seemed more negative than positive in their opinion.

[sherbet looked up and Kay concerned and paced around her legs]

Clover peaked into the room, head tilted slightly in curiosity. They had left the basement to go scavenge for more items to bring back to Norman and try and cheer him up, they looked at Sherbet, than at the two ‘people’ in the room in curiosity.

[rabid sighed seeing that Kay felt bad about startling her]

“Well actually…I kinda need some back up”

[rabid scratched the back of her head knowing she’s going to have a long talk with Norman about recent events involving a hurt member of the mafia within the family]

[sherbet was distracted by a small churp and looked over to see pudding still asleep, they had also fallen off the bed but apparently hadn't been woken up]

[looking between Kay and Rabid they decided Kay would be okay and went to go investigate the other dream floffis]

[[pudding and sherbet's adventure]]

Kay looked over at sherbet, than at rabid.

“Ah… you mean.. what happened with Norman. He seemed.. quite distressed. I almost forgot to talk with you about him.”

“I don’t want to confront the guy alone…I just don’t know what to think honestly so a second opinion will help me tons”

[rabid rubbed her neck nervous about it all]

Kay nodded slightly, “That makes sense… he seemed afraid in how you’d react. I understand what happened, in a ways, it felt… 61:9 —“ Kay cleared her throat, fuck, that’s been happening too much recently, “I mean— familiar.”

Kay’s tail flicked as she collected her thoughts again, “It feels odd, but familiar… I think you should talk to him, clear things up. He seems to think his fate has been decided..” Kay trailed off, sounding more serious once she continued. “I’d assume that would not be the case… maybe it’s just my opinion, but, I’d be ashamed if someone made such a harsh decision on one action, we know that no one here is what they seem, after all.”

“Right…this is place is looking more like a freak show than a mafia..”

[rabid joked half heartedly, still feeling like someone needing to take charge instead of the silly and playful jester..]

Kay smiled a bit, “…Well, there’s a reason they call a mafia a ‘family’, I suppose… we’re all weird in our own ways, but, we don’t clash… most of the time.” The mood in the room felt a bit better, Kay gave rabid a playful little nudge, “Besides, it just makes us more fun. Being ourselves and still being able to get all that bullshit done.”

[rabid chuckled and nudged Kay back]

“Look at you being so cheerful, were you always this wise?”

[crossing her arms and cocking an eyebrow as rabid questioned her new mindset. not usually seeing such a down to earth type of person she sees in Kay at the moment]

“Wise? I wouldn’t say that.. I simply say things at times I feel they’re needed…” Kay glanced away for a moment, ah, she wasn’t used to complements.

“I guess it’s just easy to feel comfortable around someone like you. You seem to bring out the best in people.” Kay chuckled softly, “I guess that’s why you’re the face, eh.”

“I gave people what they want, but right now we gotta see what the hell is up with Norman...”

[rabid sighed knowing that she couldn’t stall any longer because of how dire the situation has become]

[rabid turned to the door to ahead towards Norman’s whereabouts, then she sees a little child peeking through the door]

The child’s head tilted slightly, they looked at Rabid and Kay

[rabid stared at the child for a second then turned to Kay in confusion disbelief and a little worried]

“Child?…who’s-“

[rabid fumbles her wording still in a bit of shock]

The child’s tail flicked, they made a ‘come here’ motion, which was odd. Very odd.

“Your seeing this right?? Like there’s a kid here..here”

[a little more worried and trying to express that no hold should be in a place like this especially with a manor full of beings that have their own thing going on]

“…Huh…” Kay looked at clover, head tilting slightly, “..That is definitely not normal.”

The child also seemed fairly familiar. The clothes they worse seemed familiar too, a loose T-shirt and shorts, though the child looked mostly human, they definitely.. were not.

[rabid rubbed the bridge of her nose and sighed deeply]

“Someone get this kid outta here and I don’t know send them to the police station without being seen”

[not wanting to deal with this and needing to talk to Norman rabid picked up the child by the back of the shirt]

The child wriggled out of rabid’s hold and pointed down the hall where the stairs were, before running off… not a very talkative kid. They were trying to convey for the two to follow them, these people must surely be able to cheer up Norman.

who the hell are you?

The child stayed quiet for a bit, seemingly all their attention faced towards the toon, “. . . I am. . . Someone.”

[The Toon walks down the halls with regret, thinking of Kays words. Despite having the feeling of reassurance, he still felt empty.]

[Sigh.]

'You just had to do it again Norman. You just HAD to get someone involved with your problems. They don't gotta deal with them. They don't need more pressure on them as it is.'

[The Toon seems to find a door to The Basement.]

'I guess I'll hide there, that way they don't gotta deal with me.'

[The Toon stumbles into the basement with ink still leaking from his head he turns to see a small child coming from a portal.]

"What the-?"

The child looks up at him, they tilt their head a bit and make a hum as they seem to phase out of the strange goopy portal.

[The Toon still wiping away the ink from his head trying to process everything that's been going on. Now finding a random child appearing in the same place where he's trying to hide himself from the others.]

'Oh lord. As if everything else that was happening wasn't enough. Now there's a random child in the mansion.'

[Despite everything that is happening, the Toon forces a cartoon smile just to be less intimidating to the child.]

Uh...hey there kiddo?

What's a kid like you doing down here?...Wait how did you get down here to begin with.

The child’s head stayed tilted, like a confused animal who was trying to figure out what was going on themself. It clearly wasn’t human, the tail and horns said as much, not to mention how their skin looked at parts.. parts of their body seemed to be somewhat like goop and floating for a moment, before reforming with their body after they exited the portal fully.

The child blonde red his question, and just continued staring at him, they shrugged, their little tail swishing a bit.

Well that's a problem.

[The Toon scratches the side of his head trying to get rid of the ink at the same time but still having the thoughts on his mind of what has been happening.]

Sigh. Well at least you ain't injured or anything of the sorts. But why do you look familiar?

“Prrah?” The child made a sort of hum, tilting their head still. They just sorta sat there, looking at Norman, making a small wave.

'Ok Norman, just calm down alright. You know everything that's happening at the moment is your fault but you cannot just break down in front of a child. Just keep up the whole 'Happy Cartoon' Act and you'll be 'fine'.'

Well alrighty kiddo so while were hanging around down here how about you tell me about yourself?

[While saying this with a "smile" ink still pours down the Toons head internally panicking of scaring the kid.]

Clover stood up and just continued looking at Norman, they pointed at the ink dripping off of Norman’s head, as if seeming curious about it. They didn’t really answer Norman’s question…

They than pointed to themself- or, their head.

'Oh crap, they realized it the ink melting off from my head. C'mon Norman think. This kid can't know about what's happening with me'

Oh this? Heh, don't worry about it kiddo, its just hot in here for me that's all!

'Why does this kid look so familiar to someone.'

Clover frowned and pointed to themself again, it seemed like they were trying to convey something. They were pointing to the ‘goop’ dripping partially from their own head. They thought it was interesting that Norman was similar in that aspect.

'Ok I just gotta play it off with them. You can handle this Norman. Just calm down.'

Oh well that's neat! Guess you can say that we're twinning 'ey pal? But cmon pal, turn that frown upside down. Besides you're never fully dressed without a smile!

[Norman pulling on the ends of his mouth stretching out his smile in a childish manner.]

Clover’s frown became a slight smile, their tail wagged a bit as they looked up at Norman.

Heh, I knew there was joy in that lil heart of yours!

[The Toon kneels down to the child's height in order to properly talk to them.]

[Suddenly the Toon felt a sharp pain travel across his mind and clentches his head from the pain. It seems that the head trauma from Rabid is finally getting to him. Or maybe its something else entirely.]

[Why is his arm melting.]

The child made a small squeak in surprise, seeing Norman clearly in pain like this. Their tail flicked anxiously as they looked at Norman, not wanting to touch him in fear of making it worse, they were trying to think of how to help… how?

[The Toon looking at his now melted(?) arm distressed on what to do. He didn't think the corruption would get this far.]

Uh..ok this doesn't look right. Jesus I should really calm down before this ends up worse for me-

[In a spontaneous reaction the melted arm forms into an axe-like weapon.]

Oh.

Oh this is bad.

Clover made a worried hum and went closer to Norman, they didn’t know how to help.

“Are you.. okay?” They murmured hesitantly, they definitely weren’t scared of what was happening, they just didn’t know how to make Norman calm down.

No...kid y-you should not have been here to see this. This was never supposed to be known by anyone.

[In the middle of the Toon hyperventilating because of the situation, he runs ahead of the child and hides behind a barrel.]

Clover made a disappointed hum and followed him— what did he expect the child to do? Why was he running when he was hurt— was he hurting? They didn’t know exactly what to do to help him.

[The Toon rushes behind a barrel sitting down and pulling an empty bottle out of his hammerspace scratching off the excess ink from his arms to get rid of the axe hand but failed to do so with the ink endlessly regenerating.]

Ugh. WHY WONT YOU GO AWAY ALREADY. WHY DO YOU GOTTA MAKE MY LIFE HARDER THAN IT ALREADY IS YOU STUPID ASS CORRUP-

[Not realizing Clover was standing right by his side when he said all of that.]

Oh..h-hey kid. You don't gotta worry about me alright. Just...stressed at the moment thats all.

“…Does it hurt…?” Clover asked, sitting next to Norman, frowning a bit, as they pointed to Norman’s ‘melting’ hand.

Oh, this? No ain't kid my arms fine. Just...haven't experienced this before thats it.

[With the Toon still trying to keep up the "smile" he pats the kid on the head with reassurance.]

You don't gotta worry about me kid. I'm doing fine.

Clover held out their arm so it could be seen fully, they mimicked the sort of shape Norman’s arm took, they tilted their head, “It… only hurts at the start…” clover said slowly, they didn’t really know why Norman was freaking out, but they didn’t really know how else to make him feel better.

Sigh Look kid...I know your trying to get me to feel better about all this, but this isn't something you should worry about.

[The Toon positions his Axe Arm away from Clover, putting his legs up to his chest, resting his head on his knees.]

Your just a kid. You ain't gotta stress about something like this alright? I'm fine.

Clover frowned, their arm shifted back to normal, they looked around.

//What can make him feel better…? Hmm… maybe…//

Clover scurried off for a moment, leaving the basement for a few minutes, until they returned with pillows. Yes, their little child brain has the logic of ‘their feeling down? Maybe this stuff will make them feel better’. They started making a fort around Norman.

'Looks like the kid ain't gonna be leaving anytime soon. Sigh I might as well use this bottle of that stuff I heard about that 'eases the pain'.

[The Toon reaches into his hammerspace and pulls out a random bottle to reveal it was a bottle of Vodka. The strong kind.]

Hopefully this helps forget about the pain.

Clover continued making the pillow fort around Norman, they leaned over and saw him holding the bottle, they tilted their head. “Was that?”

[The Toon lost in thought for a moment trying to think of an excuse in order to keep the child's knowledge at an innocent level.]

OH..uh...its uh...Sleeping Juice! Yeah...it's sleeping juice, I was planning to take a nap after taking it. Yknow for it helping you sleep and all that.

'Please God let this child believe my lies again. PLEASE.'
