Oh yeah, I'm not ambitious enough to move rn 😅 1 is better cause like a 20 min walk away, 2 is like an hour if I feel up to it or like 40 mins with a bus but both are fine location-wise

I would go with 1 assuming it really would lead to good positions later on. Also, assuming you’re interested in the work (sounds like you are).

I think it would, I mean 2 could also lead to a really high salary within like 10 years but I might die of boredom in the meantime. And yeah, I'm not incredibly passionate about it but definitely find it interesting

Sadly my family member died and unfortunately, I can't reduce my working hours because I still have to pay off my student loan.

At the moment 1. A family member of mine was very sick for a long time and lowkey easy work wold be nice at the moment.

I would appreciate the free time and you can later switch to a 40h job again.

I'm sorry to hear about your family member, I hope they're doing better now! And that's very fair. I feel like for me it'd be much easier to switch the other way around though, even with these specific jobs 1 is going to be a year at first and after it ends it would actually be the perfect timing to start the other one. I think I'm more worried that if I go with the easier one (it's teaching or lecturing if that's a thing) I'll have been out of research or industry for too long and probs will have lost skills if not iq lol on the other hand, I did the easy job for a few months and it was a great life I can't lie

Honestly 1. because it will be helpful for the future as well. 2. obviously had that part time/time off factor, but will it be the best decision in the long run? Problem not.

Also speaking from experience the easy work will get super boring and annoying very fast. And the hours will feel super long.

Thank you, I think you're 100% right! 2 is attractive rn because I think I'm at a point where I just want to travel and do fun things and I don't want to work but it's probably not good long term and once I put my laziness aside I think I do want more out of life
