We always say, "I would have spoken out, why didn't anyone stop this" etc etc when it comes to moments in history like Hitler for example, but I see now how he rose to power and how half the population actually did support him. History repeats in different ways til we learn the lessons and clearly humanity still has do much learning to do and relearning things like compassion for your neighbor. The god, if there is one, that I follow teaches that ALL people are equal regardless of race, religion, borders and more. The good Bishop kindly and humbly said all this and asked for Mercy. It may be time to admit that Trump is not good. And that's the bare minimum. I won't associate with Nazis OR Nazi sympathizers nor will I entertain what about ism and any other moot points and arguments. I promise you have more in common with homeless people and with progressives like AOC who used to be a bartender than you ever will with someone lile Elon or Trump. I'm on the right side of history and that is what is keeping me going. Because I want a free and just and better world, with more empathy and love and acceptance. You can't say you want that too then vote AGAIN for an administration who will do just the opposite and won't even listen to a bishop's pleas for mercy.
Mass deportations, rolling back the act preventing discrimination and hundreds of other orders he's signed that he clearly didn't even read half of, and more...
I'm not giving up hope but damn, can some of you please do some serious self reflecting bc I don't know what else to say or do at this point.
